Review Insomnia Restaurant And Lounge - Toronto

When I checked this place out I really wanted to get some brunch the food looked so good in the pictures. Unfortunately, I got there right before the start of the dinner menu. They had stopped serving brunch. The space has a nice ambiance. The timing was such that we were the only people there but it didn't feel strange. You know that feeling when you're the only person at a restaurant and you start to wonder if you made the right decision? If there was a reason no one else is there? Well this wasn't the case. Felt right at home. The food arrived relatively quick. Everything tasted absolutely incredible. The texture of the food was just right. You get the feeling that this place has more of a nightclub feel at night. I still want to go back and have brunch here 🙂 I definitely recommend In-Somnia!

My friend and I had to wait for good 15 minutes for someone to come and take our order. Then good 45 minutes to get our food. Once we finished eating (in 20 minutes), we were asked to leave 15 minutes later because according to them, it had been a while. We would not have been sitting there for that long if the food was given to us sooner than 45 minutes. I will not be returning there again because of their slow service and time management skills. Food on the other hand was not bad. I ordered waffles and egg Benedict.

My date ordered Lorraine Benedict and I got citrus-spiked french toast. We had a wonderful experience! I must say, the setting is breathtaking. They have plants on the walls and fairy lights hanging from the ceiling, which I adore. They have the bathroom downstairs - it was modern and clean, which made me feel extra special. My french toast was light, fluffy, and incredibly tasty. The presence of a hint of citrus flavour was unexpected, but it worked well. The experience blew me away; it was wonderful! Our waiter was quite pleasant and helpful. As this is supposedly a popular brunch spot in downtown Toronto, it's quite busy. Otherwise, coming here was a pleasure!!

One of the bestttttt and I mean THE BEST brunch places in Toronto. if they tell me the wait time is 5 hours I would say sure. Everything on their plate is delicious, even the green salad that I usually hate in other places. I'm not sure how they can make everything so yummy but all I can tell you is that, you haven't had a great brunch in your life if you haven't come here.

Really enjoyed my experience here! The ambiance was right and the food and drink were fantastic. The dark and stormy cocktail was well prepared and tasted refreshing. The chicken and waffles was incredibly well balanced. Just the right amount of sweetness from the syrup, the fried chicken wasn't greasy at all, and the slaw on top helped keep it vibrant.

Very comfortable place that doesn't have very loud music, it was a good place to go with a small group of friends to just eat and relax for the afternoon. The service was quick enough for those who need time to order. My food came hot and was a big portion for how much I paid but it was worth what I paid, I will definitely go back for another round of food and drinks

I was looking up places to go for brunch downtown with a friend who was visiting. We came across Insomnia and I immediately loved their menu options. Luckily I was able to get a reservation for 3 the day before. The place was easy to get to. It had a cozy diner feel to it. I got the French toast because I wanted something sweet. My friend got the Heaven On Earth. Also sweet. It was like a French toast sandwich filled with fruits and cream cheese. I liked the French toast it wast too heavy or eggy. The portion size was on the bigger size and was filling enough. My friend didn't like the cream cheese in her order as it was quite a lot. Another buddy got the chicken on waffles. He absolutely loved it and rated it a solid 8/10. Overall, definitely looking forward to coming back here again and trying other things on their menu. Perhaps something savory next time.

This place is incredible for Brunch! My new favorite Toronto Brunch spot. It's a little packed and a little expensive but it's worth it because you definitely get what you pay for. Make reservations ahead of time and try the heavenly french toast. Also make sure you specify if you want ketchup on the homefries!
