Woody's is hands down our favourite burger spot in all of TO. Best burgers, best toppings, best poutine fries, best staff, best bathroom, best everything. Also, they have beer. It's like the Christmas morning of burger joints. Merry Christmas! 🍔🍟🍻🎄
Awesme burger amazing poutine, I will be back next time I'm in the area, only thing wrong was my top bun was fridge cold. Still 5 star , the poutine has this smokie wood flavor, 1 of a kind.
Last week I attended a backyard wedding that Woodys catered, and it was amazing! They pulled up to the house in the food truck and set up tables in the driveway. Everything was SO good! The burgers were hot and fresh! The fries weren't soggy at all. (Including the sweet potato fries) as soon as a type of burger ran out, a fresh tray was being brought out. The staff hustled and were very friendly! Anyone I talked to at the wedding raved about the burgers!
I would recommend them for sure!
Loyal customer at the babypoint location, amazing staff and amazing food, this place is gold!
I love the meat regular burgers and the Bison soooooooo yummmmmmyyyyyyyy........ I don't just love them I crave them, I drive over 50km round trip on my lunch break just to get a Woody's wood fired with Apple tree wood burger.
My favourite burger joint, a refuge after work, and just before the madness of the evening begins. Absolutely love the beef burgers! The more I eat them, the fewer the toppings I go for. My wife says the Tandoori chicken burger is soooo authentic. And when I go there with my daughter, I've got to eat extra fast, or she'll down my burger, after wolfing down hers. So glad it's in my hood!
It was my first time there and was amazing. The poutine was the best I have had so far.
Best burgers. Full of flavour and not too greasy. Many choices of toppings to make it your own or you can choose one of their creations. And new patio furniture is a plus!
I do not eat burgers often so when I do they better be good and these were the BEST I've has so far. Love the wood smoke smell of the restaurant, the open kitchen with amazing fresh toppings you can see and add to any burger. Beef patties are a good size, they don't skimp on the beef and it's tasty. I had the Alpine and added the spicy mayo and fried onions. I will be back so I can try a stuffed burger with extra cheese on top of course.
Burgers and fries were delicious.
The girl that served us was amazing and the service is great! Would love to come again!
So we decided to visit Woody's after seeing it on a list of the top 10 burger joints in Toronto. It was fairly close to my place being just a 20 minute street car ride.
We ordered a regular burger, a stuffed cheddar cheese burger and a tandoori turkey burger along with some sweet potato fries with chipotle Mayo.
The portion sizes were massive and my friends were unable to finish their portions.
I was pretty content with my food and happy with both the taste and the quantity.
The fries were seasoned a bit too much for my liking.
Overall good experience
South Etobicoke has a long history as a destination to grab an old-school burger with all the classic fixings. These days, the restaurants serving up unique burgers are greater than ever and include made in-house premium beef and custom meat blends, and a variety of grilling techniques, including the use of Canadian hardwood. One of those places is Woody’s, a small place just off of Brown’s Line in Etobicoke. Woody’s has been serving up burgers since 2009 – before the major burger craze hit the GTA. And it may have been around for a while, but Woody’s is still cooking up a storm in the present day and its burgers are more reflective of Toronto’s old burger scene than what we’ve got now. They’ve got a small seating area, and a fairly large patio for when the weather’s nice. They sell a number of different types of burgers (turkey, chicken, bison, etc), including a bunch of customized burgers with names like Coronary, Tokyo, and California. When we entered the joint in the early evening in March, we were a little surprised to see how small it was. Very limited seating so if it's busy, takeout might be best. They advertise a twenty-minute wait for their burgers, and they weren’t kidding. “We’re not fast food,” the menu boasts, “we’re good food.” Umm… I guess?
Had the Brie Burger...delicious! The fries had a fantastic spice on them, so good! Definitely recommend. Good looking and very nice staff!!!!
Another packed night at Woody's! Even though the space is packed, the patrons know what they are awaiting- a fabulous hamburger, fries and I have not had a milkshake yet....but I am sure they are just as delicious! Remember, be hungry when you arrive... the portions are not small, the food is fresh, fabulous and you will enjoy every mouthful!
Amazing, worth the drive and the wait. Had burgers all over the world and I can say this is the best burger I ever had in my life! Must tries are the California, Tandoori and boom.
Great burger love them all, real wood fired burgers made to perfection. Best buyer place in the GTA. The alpine, four cheese are my favorites when I eat here along with 50/50 fries. (sweet potato/regular) Along with some local selected ales on tap, it's a great place. Can get crowded at times and seating is at a premium in this small joint.
Was a tasty burger. Has a good variety of burgers and pulled pork sandwiches. Little on the dry side but good size. Would recommend compared to what else is in the area.
Good place to grab an authentic burger. Â The place itself is tiny, but well worth putting up with the crowd. Â Great tasting burgers. Â I recommend.
You can always tell a place by how busy it is, not the biggest place so thought I'd takeout but a seat came up just as soon as my food was about to be ready, amazing food and service can't wait to try more of what they have to offer!!!
Good variety of burgers. You can select any burger you like and customize it. Especially for people who do not like a lot of veggies its a good option. Their chicken burger is very tempting.
Located on lakeshore by Long Branch/Etobicoke area, Woody's Burgers serves up wood-grilled burgers that is of great quality, freshness and delicious taste. Been to Woody's a few times and they have never disappoint. Ingredients/toppings are always fresh and the patties are always moist and full of flavour. Depending on what you are in the mood for/personal preference, you can order up their signature burgers that have pre-fixed toppings and you can always add more toppings if you'd like. I always get a different burger every time and always, always leave the joint filled and satisfied. My favorite would have to be the boom burger. That classic 7oz beef burger with their house-made pulled pork, grilled jalapeño, smoked Gouda, fried onions, chipotle mayo and smoked ketchup. It's always worth the drive to the west side!!
Hi there, this is a short haiku review from me to you! :)
-----
Local burger joint.
Good selection of toppings.
Charboiled, well done.

Woody's Burger Bar is a small corner burger joint on Lakeshore right by the Brown's Line. The place is tiny inside, but they make good use of the space. As soon as you walk in, you're pretty much staring at a menu on the wall that is almost strictly burgers (with some pulled pork specials as well). After ordering, you take a seat and a buzzer and you'll be called up when your burger is good and ready.Â
Despite the many options, I opted with the Alpine Burger and was ecstatic as it looked incredible and tasted just as good. The Alpine consists of their original beef burger topped with swiss cheese, mushrooms, onions, bacon, and dijon. The burger itself is cooked rather well, but still tasted great. The toppings only made the meal that much better. The combination of those toppings along with the fact that they had some pretty nice free toppings like fried onions, salsa, cole slaw, etc.Â
Also got an order of 50/50, which is half yukon gold and half sweet potato fries. The small was enough for 2 people to pair with your massive burgers. Bit on the oily side, but definitely worth getting to complete the heart attack combination.
Be ready to unhinge your jaw because these burgers are actually rather tall. The flavor and the prices are pretty good for a burger joint. They have a nice patio outside that you can enjoy while the weather is still hot. Fountain soda has unlimited refills so take advantage, and parking can be found alongside the road where residential is. Might make this a regular lunch spot whenever in the area.
You know when you're so full but the food you're having is so damn good you just want to keep eating? That's how I feel about Woody's. Quite honestly the best burger I've had. So glad I came across this place. I had the California burger with fries and I swear I didn't talk at all to my bf the whole time I was eating this burger because it was so damn good. Definitely a gem. It was really busy and not a lot of seating but you will enjoy their burgers even if you have to sit and eat it on the sidewalk.
Great burgers ! Can substitute beef patty with Turkey chicken veggie options ... Great flavour ! Must try ! Would recommend the California or bistro burger !
Pleased to have stopped by for lunch. I ordered the beef stuffed cheese burger (with everything on it) and poutine. All the toppings were fresh and the selection was wide. The small poutine was large enough to feed two. It is a bar like setting and good service. I was full when I left, always a bonus.
Great, under appreciated burger joint in a burger-crazy city. The Boom Burger is a must-try - beef burger topped with pulled pork and smoked cheddar. Come with an appetite.
Definitely not your average burger joint, Woody's came as a welcome surprise to me when a friend of mine introduced it to me. Situated on Lakeshore Boulevard in Etobicoke, it's very close to Humber College and Sherway Gardens.
Depending on what time and day you go, it can get very busy, so I personally would recommend that you plan ahead. If you do find yourself there, the wait time generally takes 5 to about 10 minutes. It is worth the wait though. I have been to this location a few times now and the food is still excellent.
The beef burgers are excellent, and you have the ability to customize them as you see fit. There are also a number of other choices that come with a preset list of toppings. An example of this (And the first burger I tried) was the coronary, which came with bacon and an egg on top. For those who would like to avoid red meat, they also have veggie burgers and turkey burgers as alternatives (The latter goes great with their chipotle mayo).
There are a number of sides available to accompany the orders, although I have only tried their Fries and Sweet Potato Fries. They also feature soft drinks and beer as well.
The atmosphere can seem very hectic on a busy night, and especially in winter. The space inside is limited, so once the patio closes, seating may be hard to come by. In the summer, the patio opens up and gives patrons more seating.
Long story short, would I recommend Woody's?
The answer is a big, resounding "Yes".
Best burgers hands down. I was a lover of Southstreet and Burger Priest until I tried this joint. I no longer go to either :)
Massive burger prepare to be hungry!! Love the toppings - the fried onion tidbits give a nice crunch.
The owner isn't very polite but the burgers are so good I just keep coming back.
Great burgers with really fresh crisp toppings!
Sooo good! I had the boom burger and it was amazing. Definitely recommend this place!
Best burgers I've ever tasted and well worth the wait. Very busy for a reason!
AS EXPECTED AMAZING !!!!!!. GREAT BURGERS , GREAT FRIES , GREAT COLD BEER!!!
Love Woody's. First off Woody's is set apart from other burger joints by their wood-burning grill, which is said to be a main contributor in the awesome taste of their burgers. All Woody's burger patties are hand pressed to order. A few of the burgers even come stuffed with cheese inside, aka Juicy Lucy style! The toppings are very multi-cultural considering this is a Canadian Bar atmosphere. Their menu features: a toyko burger, a tandoori burger, and a greek burger. The toppings are fresh and better than most places but the trump card could be their homemade mayos: chipotle, pesto, wasabi, and curry.
I had the BOOM Burger, which may seem like standard burger, only with a heaping mound of pulled pork as a topping, oh and let's not forget the huge slice smoked gouda. Needless to say that burger was outstanding.
Woody's is definitely worth a visit, or two.... or ten.

And that is the real thing!!. Finally had their burger w/ my fambam today and my lil kids loves them so much that keep on asking for more! Had the Bistro burger w/ sweet potato fries and cheddar stuffed burger w/ poutine. Will definitely come back again and can't wait to have their patio open.
I dream about this place.... Live on the other end of the city, but will make the trek in a heart beat because the food that is banged out here is that good. My fav is the pulled pork poutine with real cheese curdles and homemade gravy. If your not into poutine they have a vast array of hamburgers which are all homemade with fresh ingredients. The fries are hand cut fresh not frozen. Awesome.
I love burgers! These are amongst the best. The variety is difficult to pick from and as such I will be back to continue through their menu! Meat quality is excellent. Buns are good quality. This place is everything a burger lover needs!
Delicious burgers. I've been here 4 or 5 times. When you first enter, the aroma of the hardwood fires fills you, and anticipation builds. The basic menu is simple but the options are vast. I felt the prices were in line with the portions and food quality.
Best to go for lunch since it's really small and gets busy. Compound that with the fact that it takes 20 minutes to get food and the tables turn over slowly leaving no where to sit during dinner hours. The burgers are really sloppy, so be ready to use a bunch of napkins and don't dress fancy.
There are some trade-offs, sure, but the food is really really good. I love the BOOM burger which as pulled pork on it. The pulled pork sandwiches are massive and mouth-watering. I have tried the poutine and found the fries a bit undercooked, but the sweet-potato fries were crispy, salty and addictive.
Awesome gem. This place rocks when it comes to satisfying that uber indulgent craving that comes around once in a while. Try the pulled pork buger! I had it with bison, which probably helped lessen the impact and was SO delicious I was in awe. Their fries rock, their poutine is great, and the meats they have are really great. The quality of their products are excellent, the meat is hormone/antibiotic free. Go, you won't regret it. The food is great.
Best Burger EVER!. Food - 5
Service - 4.5
Ambiance - 3.5
This place tho i might say not the best location , is in a cute lil corner and very impressive. The only thing i didn't like about the atmosphere is the hard seats but the chalk board menu is definitely somethin i've never seen b4. With so many options i decided 2 keep it easy with the Cheddar stuffed, waited but for well worth food, the condiments are even endless plus they had chiptole is i was so :)). The fries r shaked finely in a large bowl w. the skin on, done just the way i luv it crispy
Finally!. So- I've had a run of bad luck lately. Seems like every fancy restaurant I go to leaves something to be desired. Call me picky, but when you're paying $20-30/plate for mains, I kind of expect certain things; like not over/under done, nicely seasoned and brought out in reasonable time.
Woody's- $20-30 for two with a drink and an excellent burger? I'll wait for that.
Bison burger was good. A little dry (it's bison) but great flavour. Beef burger takes top marks.
Try the root beer on tap.
Great spot. Try the bison burger, it's incredible. Over the past couple years I've had close to everything on the menu. Always a solid choice and great prices on booze.
Go for lunch, not dinner. After a long drive home from camping this long Labour Day weekend I had a craving for a burger. A hand made, beefy burger. I am happy to report I found just that at Sliders, not your average burger joint on the Queensway in Etobicoke. Shawn and I split three different kinds of sliders, Bacon and Cheese, Black and Blue (Burger with Blue Cheese) and Original, all were great! The Blue Cheese was Shawn's favorite and the Bacon and Cheese mine.
You can tell they are made fresh the beef just melts in your mouth! To accompany our burgers we ordered onion rings and fries and chocolate milk shakes, oh my oh my, the fires were great, fresh cut skin on amazing goodness. The onion rings were also good but a little too much batter for my liking. Shake was the best I've had in a while, you could taste the ice cold milk with the ice cream and the right consistency makes all the difference.
The restaurant is clean; the staff is friendly and the service fast, which seems to be the consensuses across the board. I check out their review on Urban Spoon and Etobicoke Eats and everyone is saying good things, for good reason.
I completely recommend this place and I will be back! One item to note, Sliders is cash only, no debit or credit.
Don't forget the pulled pork!. Love, love, love Woody's! Last time I was in I thought I'd just try the pulled pork, expecting that I'd get that out of my system and go back to something like the 4 cheese burger. I went with the Smokehouse, and it was fantastic - dammit! Now I have a real tough decision to make everytime I go, or I have to convince my wife to go halves on one of each. You really only do need 1 order of fries at best for 2 people with the quantity of burger or pork you get.
The only people that wouldn't like Woody's are vegetarian's, although one whiff of the burgers grilling as you come in the door could well pull many of them back to the light side!
Wow,,,,. Best burgers i've ever had... bar none. So many different flavours/styles...
Beware, it's smokey in there... they use only wood to cook... some people may not like that...
EDIT, went back again, even better the second time, they also have lots of drinks nights like half price pints and ceasers + etc.... tried their own "Woodys" beer, was decent, even better for $2.50 a pint....
Really good, I thought the burger was good until I tried the pulled pork. It reminds me of a smoke house, Half potato half sweet potato friesare awesome. Try the pulled pork!!!!
Good Food. It's an expensive place to get a burger - no question. But "the small shack that could" will win you over with it's agreeable decor and wood-smoked cooking.
This was my first "fried egg" burger, and it did not disappoint. Cooked well, considering I did not give any special instructions. Very filling, and fries were ordered but not at all needed. The sweet potato fries were excellent paired with the garlic mayo, and to a lesser extent, the chipolte mayo. Food was great all-round.
The service was only satisfactory. I was having some trouble ordering, and people at register or grill weren't very helpful.
Took a while for the meal to be ready, which is really more a testimate to how freshly things are made. I guess I should have been prepared when I was issued a pager for my order. Something to consider.
Overall, I believe Wally's on Central Parkway still has the best basic burger in the city. That said, Woody's is a fantastic place to grab a bite if you're up for a HUGE meal and want something unlike any burger you've had in the past!
Fabulous burger joint. My boyfriend lives right around the corner from this place but we had never seen it. We decided to use urbanspoon to help us find a place to go. Thank god it pulled up woodys burger, awesome food and amazing service. We will DEFINELTY be returning.
Um....hell yes!!!. I almost don't want to post this review for fear that Woody's will get an enlarged ego...or that this place will become too popular...
Nevertheless I am posting this...try this...if you think you can find a better burger in the GTA I would like to know where. This is by far, the best burger I've ever had (sorry mom).
and yes, you also get service with a smile with that amazing poutine.
I don't know how anyone would say they don't like Woody's. The best tasting burger I've ever had, it tasted real! They have amazing specialty burgers, I recommend the boom burger, but for your first time just go for the regular burger to get a feel for it.
A Great Burger. Woody's has become my go to place for taking care of burger cravings. The burgers and staff are great, and they offer several tasty topping options for toppings and suggestions.
Yes, yes, yes! Finally, a real burger. So happy... sigh...
Love Woody's. Our favourite grill was closed due to a power outage...we were starving and craving protein. A friend suggested Woody's. I cannot begin to describe how delicious the burgers were. The fried onions and garlic mayo and the charming staff will make us come back when we're back in town. First class!!!!
Awesome burgers! Not sure about the other review here regarding Apache as I actually found their burgers very boring. Woody's has an amazing variety and topings/condiments. It's like Harvey's on some serious steroids. Highly recommend it.
Amazing spot. Best burger south of Apache.
Not much to say here except Woody's Burgers are the best burgers in the city. The meat is from local cattle. Everything is made fresh on-site every day. There is no processed crap in any of it. They are even made-to-order on a Canadian hardwood burning grill. You have to wait a bit, but as you can see, it's so worth it.
Woody’s is relatively new, but with its good-but-not-great meatloaf-style burgers, it’s more reflective of Toronto’s old burger scene than what we’ve got now.
The burgers at Woody's are crazy good with their juicy meat (7 oz) and a selection of toppings to choose from. Don't worry about the slightly long wait after you place your order, use it it to down a couple of beers while you impatiently wait for your pager to go off that lets you know you can collect your heavenly burger fresh off the grill, get it topped off with all the goodies and settle back down to dig in. My top favorite is the Coronary with sweet potato fries.
This little gem on Lakeshore Blvd W has one of the best burgers in TO! I got it to go, but they have a bunch of seats at the location. Loved how they use wood burning grills. I got The Coronary. It was the most amazing thing I have had in a while. I need to try the rest of the stuff they have on their menu. Wish I had stopped eating and taken a photo of the burger.
