Amazing Tuna Sashimi!

Stopped for a quick, light lunch. Just tuna sashimi, Unagi sushi and seaweed salad. The tuna was FABULOUS! Melt in your mouth. The Unagi was perfect. What I didn't expect was the crunchy miso soup! Very tasty with onion crunch! Perfect quick meal. Very reasonably priced.

This is a very good place for well priced sushi.

It's a little small and it can get crowded but, they take reservation so, that makes everything easier if you're going on a busy night.

We had a table of four and we ordered a lot of food, from rolls, soup, sake, a whole boat, etc. and we had absolutely no complaints.

Service was a little slow and disoriented but, it all worked out that night.

Great quality sushi! The california and dynamite were very yummy. Service was good. The spicy mayo was decent. The price point is good as well.

To-ne is my absolute favourite. I love the consistency in everything - fresh fish, plate decoration, serving portion, and the service. I always get the Chirashi Dinner - served with soup, salad and sushi rice. I'm also aware that their special rolls are well known like the Rocky Mountain roll and Hot Summer rollwhich is my friend's go-to selection. This place has nothing but my heart

Good food, okay value. Tempura is nicely fried and light, sushi rolls are more fish and filling than rice and well balanced. Black sesame ice cream tastes good but is slightly freezer-burned. Service is slow and inattentive.

The Black Dragon was also a winner. It was topped with unagi and avocado on top with shrimp tempura, cucumber, and masago in the inside. It was nicely made and SO delicious! Yum! It was a great choice.

The only reason I'm not giving a 5 start rating is because I've had better sushi but nevertheless it was still really good. I had the spicy salmon roll which I always order at sushi restaurants , and I was really happy with the overall taste and size. There was a good salmon to rice ratio and they weren't stingy on the salmon. I had the avocado roll as well and there was a big chunk of avocado in each piece.

It is a great environment for Saturday lunch. It is not as busy as some places on the weekends. Quite a relaxing place and great sushi. It was fresh and delicious.

I have NEVER been a fan of sushi, because I prefer my food hot and well cooked, so the thought of eating raw, cold fish was not something my palate could accept. Fortunately for me, my bestie is a sushi fiend and she convinced me to give in and try it one more time. We ate at To-ne Sushi , one of Downtown Toronto’s most notable Japanese seafood Restaurants. After being seated, we were served an amuse-bouche of (what we assumed was) Miso soup with rice noodles.
The Ebi (shrimp) Shumai with ponzu sauce and Chicken Katsu (breaded, fried chicken) with a special sauce on the side were a good start to our meal.

We decided to share a couple of rolls: the Avocado Crunch roll with tempura bits and special mayo was superb, the Philadelphia roll was a bit unusual, with smoked salmon, cream cheese and green onions – but worth a try.
My favourites were the Dynamite roll – shrimp tempura with avocado, cucumber and masago – and the Spicy Salmon roll – chopped salmon with tempura bits and spicy mayo.
It’s official now – I’ve been converted! Hallelujah.

There's a lot of sushi restaurants in Toronto that I like but if I had to pick one place for creative & delicious rolls, it would have to be To-Ne Sushi, located right on Queen Street West and Spadina Avenue. Recently, I was in the area, so I had to pay a visit to settle my sushi roll cravings!

The restaurant itself gets busy during peak hours and always have diners booming. Their service is pretty efficient so if there isn't a table available when you walk in, no worries as you won't be waiting too long. I found that a lot of people order take-out as well.

We were seated immediately and placed our lunch order. They serve you complimentary mini noodle soup to start (this is separate from the Miso Soup you may get with your order). I personally love this noodle soup with seaweed, thin noodles, green onions and tempura pieces!

Next, we got our Shrimp & Veggie tempura. I've never seen another place present their tempura this way. Each tempura piece tastes as good as it looks as well! There are 2 shrimps, mushrooms, zucchini, sweet potato or yam and broccoli. The wide crispy noodle like part you see in the picture are thinly shredded potatoes and it's good to munch on while you wait for your entrees.

It was a super hot day, so we decided to try the roll that's one of their summer specials, called the Hot Summer Roll. This proved to be a perfect choice as the roll is made with no rice or seaweed, but wrapped in thin cucumber instead.

It was crunchy, cool, spicy, and soft, all at the same time - talk about an explosion of flavours! The roll is filled with avocado, spicy salmon, tuna, shitake, crab meat and tobiko with their special To-Ne sauce.

My ultimate favourite rolls that I get from To-Ne are: Rocky Mountain Roll & Tornado Roll.

Another one of my favourites, their signature Tornado Roll, is made with spicy tuna on tempura shrimp, avocado, cream cheese, cucumber with crunch and their special sauce.

To-Ne's unique and tasty rolls may be why this sushi joint is so successful in the midst of so many competitors in the area. Next time you're looking for a place to try, head to this place and try Monica's two favourite rolls - you'll soon be calling To-Ne your go-to sushi spot!

Tone Sushi is a great place to choose for lunch and dinner, both. They have a good menu to choose from , especially their Weekday lunch specials. We ordered a take out and their service was pretty fast. While waiting for our food, they offered us a tasty soup- it was a clear soup with boiled noodles. I got the Chicken Yaki Soba which was stir fried noodles with vegetables and good tender pieces of chicken- a recommendation by the server herself. I think it’s a brilliant choice to make, incase you’re looking for a meal for one. The aroma of the noodles was appetising and they tasted really good. The chicken was cooked well and the vegetables just added flavour to the food. The ambience of the place is also great. The place looks welcoming and I’m definitely going back to dine in!

I was looking for a new lunch spot on Queen St. the other day, and ended up at To-Ne Sushi.  Was hoping for quick takeout sushi, and they did not disappoint.  I ordered some sort of lobster sushi, and a friend some sort of chicken teriyaki, and we got our food in just over ten minutes.  The staff were very friendly, and they even gave us some soup to snack on while we were waiting, which was great. The sushi was pretty good - definitely good enough to warrant my returning there, but nothing off the charts taste-wise.  My friend was a big fan of the teriyaki, and I can confirm that that dish was very nice.  The place had a nice ambiance, and I will surely go again for a sit-down meal!

Toronto is known for being host to many great Japanese restaurants. Some are good, others just ok, and then there are those little hidden gems that just blow your mind away and make you go “Yum!”.

To-ne Sushi, gets to be one of those places that I crave when I am in the mood for Japanese, and especially sushi.I fell in like with To-ne when I started working in the Fashion district, otherwise known as the Spadina/Queen/King west area in downtown Toronto.

The owners not only lured me in with their welcoming smiles, friendly service and fantastic complimentary Miso soup (which by the way has tempura bits), but also with their fresh and yummy concoction of sushi platters. My favourite yet - the Green Eyes Roll. The Green Eyes roll is like an inverted version of a Green Dragon roll. You have your buttery avocado in the centre, wrapped in seaweed, rice and sesame seeds, then topped with a slightly cooked layer of salmon and deep-fried on the outside with tempura batter. I mean, it can not get better than this.

Aside from the eyes roll creation, which tastes fantastic, To-ne also knocks it out of the park with their plating style. Flowers, saucy shapes and large plates are all representative of what To-ne is all about. When I order all 3 of the rolls, oh yes! I can devour all these in one seating. I get the almost “inverted” version of the Green Eyes roll, the Green Dragon roll, which is my second favourite, and an order of the Spicy Salmon roll. The Green Dragon roll has tempura battered shrimp wrapped in rice, sesame seeds and then topped with avocado. Like I said, the inverse. The Spicy Salmon roll is just a delicious mixture of salmon sashimi (i.e. raw salmon) mixed in with some saucy spices, then wrapped in seaweed and rice. Fresh, tasty and with a nice kick to it.
