Review Gusto 101 - Toronto

Inayat Singh
Been here a couple of times and Gusto never disappoints. Firstly, even for a busy restaurant they have plenty of outdoor seating (patio and rooftop) and would be happy to accommodate you irrespective of a booking or not (but we have been only 2 people though!) The food is excellent! The salads taste fresh, the appetizers are a good portion (lamb meatballs are super tasty!). The pastas are smaller in portion but have an impeccable taste (truffle paste is a must-try!!!!). Their tiramisu is one of the best I've tried in Toronto, SO SO GOOD! Lastly, their staff is friendly and service is quick. Would highly recommend it!

Food and the vibes are so good here. Calamari 9/10. Crispy with good sauce. Mushroom pasta 10/10 . Love these type of noodles & they were cooked perfectly aldente. Kale Caesar 8/10 (could use more kale massaging. A little rough tasting) We also got the 1oz for $1 deal on the wine. Red was very good.

Ive heard about gusto for a few years now. As soon as I had the chance to go to Toronto I made a reservation. The truffle pasta did not disappoint and would definitely be back next time I’m around! Great service and food all throughout.

Gusto has delicious pizzas and pastas. The pasta portions are a little small compared to other places but every one we ordered (we got all except the lasagna) was really yummy. The upstairs patio space is nicely laid out too. Be prepared to wait though as they do not take reservations.

I have been wanting to try this place since before the pandemic when my co-worker first told me about it. We visit Mississauga every year to visit family, but due to the pandemic, we haven't been in the past two years. The funghi pasta came highly recommended by my co-worker, so I had to try that. My husband and I also ordered the lamb meatballs for an appetizer, daviola pizza, the strip steak and tiramisu. The funghi pasta was AMAZING, and something that I would totally get every time. Everything else was really good too, cooked to perfection. Can't wait to come back again during our next visit.

Gusto 101 - Celebrating my big 4 0 today and the wifey planned a lovely luncheon. Definitely one of my favourite Italian joints in our great city. For starters we got the carpacccio and their newest salad the invernale (citrus, persimmons, fennel, olives and chilli). Both we absolutely delicious and light enough so we had room for our mains. Whenever you visit @gusto101to you must order their malfalde ai funghi and this time we also copped the grilled branzino (I love seafood). Both were executed perfectly and we left completely satisfied. What a great meal with amazing service! #TomEatsYummyFoodBecauseWhyNot

I’ve been wanting to come to Gusto for the longest time and never got around to it. How have I put it off so long. The atmosphere and space is great for an intimate dinner to catching up with a group of friends. The drinks were on point and the food… AMAZING rich flavour. Don’t be like me and wait for this, just go, run!

This place is so overrated. It was too loud to have a conversation, crawling with self-absorbed hipsters (including the majority of the staff), the food was mediocre at best (undercooked ravioli, tasteless pizza sauce, and sour cannoli filling), and uncomfortable seating (hard wooden benches, narrow metal chairs, and backless metal barstools). The owners have clearly focused too much on ambiance (cold industrial chic) and not enough on actual quality. I can't believe how busy it was. Oh, and check your local fire codes; I doubt it is safe to have people waiting in your single-file stairwell for a table on the third floor.

Excellent cocktails. The kale salad was a revelation. The pizza's crust alone is fab. Steak was just all right but the accompaniment of sautéed grape tomatoes and olives was delish. And the strawberry dessert is heaven on a plate. Excellent bartenders.

This restaurant was my favourite up till this year. I was so disappointed yesterday when I had dinner there! The overall impression was that they start cutting corners to make more money by sacrificing the quality they enjoyed in the past. The hostess claimed there's over an hour wait for a table even though the restaurant was half empty when I questioned her she changed her statement so from 1.5 hour waiting it took less than five minutes to seat us!!!! Not sure what was that all about?! Is it just to give the impression that the restaurant is still popular?! I had white wine to start but was room temperature! They start charging for bread. Popular items like the mushrooms pizza, and the dessert trio were removed from the menu!! Their famous truffle mushrooms pasta was extremely disappointing obviously the pasta wasn't homemade anymore and the scarce amount of mushrooms were rehydrated dry mushrooms as for the truffle, what truffle there was none! Olive oil cake was a disgrace you can find a better dessert at a fast food restaurant. Never again will recommend this restaurant to anyone unless they get their act together and stick to the original amazing Gusto 101 I really miss it.

Had brunch here on a Sunday afternoon. Great service, great food. Not an extensive brunch menu, but it's not their specialty so it's understandable. The place is beautifully decorated (great for photos). The bartender/server made us some amazing cocktails and was super nice and attentive on the rooftop deck. Going to have to go again soon to try their non-brunch stuff.

I’m so glad we found this gem on our recent visit to Toronto. The food and service were both excellent. We tried the recommendations from our server and were not disappointed. We also enjoyed the atmosphere sitting at one of the 6 person high top tables where we ordered pitchers of sangria.

You can tell that some serious pride is taken in this kitchen. Only the best and freshest ingredients are used to create mouth-watering dishes. The kale salad and baked brussel sprouts are mind-blowing and not to be missed!

Trust me I am very picky with my Italian food, I go to Italy very often and the quality of gusto is the closest to local Italian standards you can find in town . My friend from LA was so impressed , he said that it might be one of the best Italian restaurant in North America . Plus the atmosphere is lovely and the staff are all marvellous !

I had a great time at Gusto 101. I always do. The reason I go is because of their polipo (octopus) dish. Gusto is one of the most well interior designed spaces that I've had the pleasure of dining in (although, your washrooms are a bit creepy as there needs to be more lighting. It reminded me of the horror movie Hostel). The reason I'm not giving Gusto 101 5 stars is because I was a bit turned off. They're very famous for their bread which comes before your apps and meals. They charge for that now (come on Gusto, seriously). I've dined at a lot of fancy restaurants in my lifetime and I've noticed high end restaurants provide a service above and beyond. Sometimes that service is providing delicious bread for free because it opens the heart and palette for more enjoyable dishes that can be found. I hope you don't follow through with this idea for much longer. It's one of your competitive advantages and for the price point of your dishes and the type of service you provide, it's a move that doesn't reflect your value. If you want to sell your bread, then make your own cafe at the bottom and sell it there.

Yummy food that came out quickly but our server seemed really uninterested in creating a good experience for us. He did the bare minimum. Love having dinner here but won't be going back for brunch!

I missed the 'before eating' picture; it looked too damned good. I missed the after eating picture because the staff is that damned great! Packed house and everything was timely, and professionally seen to! So here's to the staff and the wine! You haven't seen the last of me!

My friends and I are here to visit and we received a recommendation from a local about Gusto 101. We came on late night for a couple of pizzas and they were phenomenal! We ordered the Spinaci and the Regina Margherita. The ingredients were fresh and the crust was thin and crispy. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Toronto! Grazie a mille!!!

Great night out! The ravioli was great and just enough, the kale salad was also good. It’s a little noisy but enjoyable just the same.

We come every Monday looking to sit at the bar and be served by Ian or Miraz. Drinks are always on point, food has never failed to be anything other than delicious, and the atmosphere is very inviting. Highly recommended to any locals or out of towners!

Celebrated my birthday yesterday with a group of 10, we experienced the Nonna's Dinner and I have to say the best birthday I've had. The food was amazing, service was great and atmosphere unquestionably awesome! Thank you I've told people one of my favorite places to eat in Toronto: even better in the summer
