Review Buster's Sea Cove - Toronto

I love it! They have such amazing quality in their food. You can tell they care so much about what they are serving. 💕 the service is great! They have a lot of options. Also, delicious beers and cocktails. It's that kind of restaurant you'd think of coming back again. I highly recommend the fish and chips and the east coast oysters! So delish!!!
Marsh Mellowman
Awesome food, plenty of gluten free options with a dedicated fryer. Can pick fish type and batter type. Fish and chips were great, the coleslaw was amazingly acidic it cut the fatty items perfectly.

I'll definitely come back to try more of their shrimp options. We ordered a battered cod taco and a grilled shrimp taco, a tiger shrimp po'boy, and the frings. What we liked most were the items with shrimp. What we liked the least were the onion rings in the frings, but it was still enjoyable. This order was enough to share between two people over lunch. The fish and chips option that other tables were ordering looked well portioned and I'd give that a try as well. Also, great service from the staff!

Had a big craving for fish and chips and tried this place for the first time. Little patio is great with the wall Got the halibut and onion rings. Freshly fried, fish tasted great, batter a little thick especially for the onion rings, wish the slaw was more acidic to help cut the fried items. Would also like two separate sauces to go with the meal A little pricey for a single piece of fish but probably the going rate for seafood

I was shocked when I opened up the Halibut dinner X2. It was completely burnt. I am even more surprised the chef would allow something like this to go out the door. Very disappointed and it wasn’t cheap, especially using UBER EATS. The driver was very nice though!

Compared to all the other fish and chips restaurants in the city, I thought both the fish and the chips were overdone (the fries were hard). There was a selection of batter types, sauces, and side options. I tried the plain house batter which was not mixed well (at times the batter was sweet for some reason). The mussels and the brussel sprouts were delicious, I would go back for them. However there are definitely better places for fish and chips in the city. Service was good.

Favourite spot to get fish and chips in Toronto. The fish is so fresh and yes can be pricey but worth every penny. You have the option of a gluten-free batter, beer battered or even just grilled. Highly recommend the wild halibut. Generous servings, and really friendly staff.

Went last night and it was great. Had a Caesar salad and some haddock and chips and it was all pretty incredible. I read some awful reviews on here before I went but am happy to report back it was delicious. Excellent service.
Dave Trimble
15 dollars for halibut and chips is fine I guess. But the portion of fish is very small(3 small 2 bite pieces....fries were served warm and we're kind of soggy. This was my first time eating here and I won't be eating here again that's for sure. If you're use to traditional fish and chips this isn't the place for you.
Jason Fleming
Just tried the lobster roll off their food truck! 15 dollars for what had the consistency of tuna salad with 2 small pieces of lobster ( not fresh ) accompanied by shoestring fries that resembled McDonald's dehydrated fries !! My suggestion, save your money and your taste buds as their truck is not worth a visit !!

I go to Busters at St Lawrence market once in a while and noticed that the standard has fell off for last year and a half. Seems like it's all new staff that isn't very engaged compared to the other guys who used to work there. The prices are expensive for what you're getting but when the halibut sandwich is on point...it's delicious!! I'll try the other location to see if it's better.

Finally got a chance to try your food truck at the movie wardrobe sale in Toronto yesterday and was not disappointed. Ordered the lobster roll and wow was it delicious!!!!! So fresh and tasty and made me want a second one lol!! Loved it!!!!

The food here tasted so fresh and was cooked to perfection. That's the best grilled octopus I've ever had. I've had it all over the world and it's normal tough and chewy but they didn't over cook it at all. Just right. ïżœïżœïżœ

Excellent seafood tacos the shrimp and octopus very taste and fresh

Very delicious food in a special cool atmosphere

You're just not going to find better seafood, prepared super fresh, anywhere in Toronto....and I don't care how much youre paying for it. Busters is awesome. A must visit and all the fun of the St Lawrence market thrown in.

Ate Fish & Shrimp Tacos from their food truck at Riot Fest in Toronto! So delicious!!!

Great quick service, professional and the food was good. Halibut and chips, could have done with more fish less chips. And no credit cards? Damn. Overall will come back.

DELICIOOOOOOOOUS Lobster roll !

Skip the Lobster Roll. Opt for the Shrimp Po'boy. Thank me later. House salad is average. Veggies are fresh. Definitely a must visit while in the market.

Located in St Lawrence Market...so popular you will wait in a fast moving line of other customers that have probably been there many times before... my daughter had the fish and chips and commented on how light the batter was. Please add to your itinerary.

Lots of options to choose from. I got lucky there wasn't a long line in a Tuesday evening. I tried haddock on a bun and fried calamari. Food is delicious.

Semuanya dijamin juara!

I was hoping for more, but was a little disappointed. The Lobster Roll was ok; not great, but ok. The fries were too salty, and the coleslaw was dry and bland. Not really worth the price.

After watching it on Eat Street (India episode on fox life channel), finally made it here. Went straight for the lobster roll as seen on TV. On itself and if you combine it with the fries along with it (which I tend to do with every sandwich or burger I have), tastes and works really well. Crawfish and crab cake are next. Your time will come, just wait. Till then make it a must visit place.
Hans Wurst
We ordered the "House Speciality" 100% handmade Crab Cakes. It turned out the crab cakes were 100% garbage, full of flour paste, disgusting. Even the birds on the terrace refused to eat your handmade garbage.

I'm a big fan of BSC not just because of the great food but mainly because of the way they sell it. Their in St Lawrence market and on Saturday morning try getting a spot to sit infront of the restaurant, good luck.<br/><br/>They have a great selection of items and it just looks awesome. The fish is freshly prepared for you so you can be assured of good quality.<br/><br/>We ordered the crab cakes and halibut & chips. The crab cakes were really good, despite only being served 2 pcs I didn't mid as it tasted great. The halibut was perfectly fried, cooked and with the right batter. Be warned that the chips/fries are a lot and definitely outweigh the main.<br/><br/>Overall this place has to be tried out especially for sea food lovers
Mabel Larrivée
Been here a couple of times and have been disappointed.  I love fish especially fish and chips.  My first experience I ordered the Boston blue fish and found it tasteless but I did realize I purchased the cheapest fish so I could understand I should have ordered the Halibut.  Therefore, my second visit I ordered the Halibut sandwich.  I thought I would receive 1 descent size Halibut fish in a bun.  Instead I got 2 small halibut full of batter.  There were more batter than fish.  I should have gone to McDonalds.  At least I get a descent size fish burger and wouldn't be just eating batter.
Guangqi Zhou
had halibut n chips there. only 2 not big piece of fish. and even dip with sauce still no flavor at all. very oily and greasy. definitely will order some spicy and strong flavor food if go there next time

Let me start by saying I will go out of my way to tell everyone I know not to even think of going to this establishment<br/><br/>Never have I paid so much for so little and to try and tolerate rude staff also<br/><br/>My wife had grilled snapper with fries. You needed a microscope to find the snapper, should have ordered fires with a hint of Snapper<br/><br/>I had a lobster roll and was hard pressed to find the lobster amongst the four inch roll.<br/><br/>We all make dining mistakes. I made the biggest one of my life today

Great fish and chips, reasonable price. Very long line in the afternoon during summer. There were at least lots of empty benches outside. Very delicious.
Joy Z
Ordered haddock & fries. Positive: freshness of fish. Negative: just don't try their fries...over fried and too thin...Feel you can get better deal for a price of $12+tax...

I have been to Buster's sea cove a few times already and it's only fair I write a review! Sitting in the heart of St. Lawrence market this little fish n chips joint has earned a prominent spot in the market and reputation over the past decade.<br/><br/>I love how the fresh fish is displayed and after you have placed your order, you can watch them cook your catch!đŸŸđŸ˜¶ It makes you salivate as you greatly anticipate your fish prepared to perfection!😊 I love the halibut here as I would in any fish n chips place. But I've also tried the Boston blue fish which took me by surprise as it was very good! The meat was juicy and sweet, full of flavor. I enjoy how the batter is light here and the catch is consistently fresh.<br/><br/>I always enjoy walking around St. Lawrence market and finding gems like Buster's sea cove. The sights and sounds of the market are mesmerizing! Buster's sea cove definitely adds livliness to this food market!đŸ€—đŸŸđŸŸ

First time there. Asked for the best on their menu and received the fish stake and it didn't much have a taste. The salad was only green leafs with two over ripened tomatoes. For $20 there are better choices.

We are expecting to have a nice sea food there but after we're humiliated by one of waitress, we couldn't enjoy the food at all. They only accept Cash or Debit so I need to run downstair to get some cash, meanwhile, my wife(holds a child) waited in the line for ordering. The waitress told my wife can step aside since she already reached the point where she can place the order but she could tell her directly once I came back from ATM. That was fine and reasonable. The problem started when I got back, she immediately told us, we need to go back and line up again so my wife tried to explain the situation to her. She told she doesn't want to have any argument with us. Argument?? Anyway, we're a visitor and just wanted to grab a food quickly to move on to next spot. When we reached to the point where we can talk to her again. My wife tried to explain the situation THEN she turned her back and took a order from next person in the line. Can you believe this? And she came back to us, without saying anything, told "NOW, are you ready to order?"  Haha, guys, you are selling foods for people to enjoy this busy, attractive place in Toronto. While we are visiting Toronto for this holiday season, this is the only and worst experience. Won't go back ever. Even they have to handle so many people during lunch and stressed out by complaints, that's their jobs and they need to know how to run the dining place in a busy place like St. L.  Most people gave 5 out of 5 for their food but I couldn't. IMHO, FOOD is not only quality to the finest/famous restaurant to have.
SarahNOM
A very fun unassuming cart in the at Lawrence market. Hardly a place to sit but you can walk around the market with a massive carton of calamari and just enjoy. The muscles are very good as well. Highly recommended.
Jim
Amazing sea food place in the St. Lawrence Market. Everything I have tried has been good. A must if you are in the area. Had the Halibut and chips last time I was there, and enjoyed it very much.

Buster's Sea Cove by far has the best calamari in Toronto. Their fish and chips are also delicious. Though the line is usually long (as it is an extremely popular place for seafood), it is always worth the wait.
Bucajack
One of my favourite lunch places. Expect long lines but they move pretty quick. Hallibut on a bun is amazing. All of the fish and ingredients are fresh and tasty.
Duha
I absolutely LOVED this place! A must for every sea food fan (and a must for good lovers too)! Don't let the cue put you off, they are very organized with waiters taking your order while you cue and your dish will be ready in no time! We ordered the bbq octopus, grilled calamari and fried calamari (a delicious treat with the sauce they give with the order)! A great hit!
Salsadreea
Amazing fresh seafood! To be honest I haven't had anything grilled from here because of all of the amazing deep fried options!<br/><br/>The grilled calamari is delicious, their fries are great, but my favourite are the halibut or cod on a bun sandwiches packed full of flavor. <br/><br/>This is an absolute treat, but be prepared to wait in line and fight for a place to sit and savour the deep fried deliciousness.
Julie Turner
Buster's has been a lunch favorite for a long time. If you arrive at noon, be prepared for super-long line-ups; it's well worth the wait though. I usually try to get there around 11:30 to avoid the rush.<br/><br/>The swordfish sandwich is a thing of beauty. The fish is grilled to perfection, and the sandwich itself is flavoured with a lovely garlic oil, aioli, and hot sauce and garnished with cucumber, tomato and lettuce. This sandwich alone is what keeps me coming back.<br/><br/>The fish and chips are pretty good - lightly battered and crispy fish, and crisp fries. Served with a generous helping of coleslaw made in house.<br/><br/>The portions are big, and the prices are super reasonable.
MuchoHungro
I found something amazing and incomparable, a true revelation for taste: a perfect fish sandwich and seafood stand!
Stemmy
Too little food for too much money-especially for nothing special. The shrimp taco was alright, but not for $5 for one. And the teeny tiny lobster roll is not worth the price....especially since it was doused in mayo and very little lobster.
Randymako
An overpriced coleslaw salad wrapped with bread and a hint of fish.. I ordered the fish tacos knowing right away that two would likely not be enough but for $10 I was hoping to be wrong. Well I was right, two miniature tacos were presented by a seemingly unhappy employee. The entire thing was cold and the fish was about the size of a finger. Needless to say I am still hungry and unsatisfied.
Nathan B
Disappointing, bland and over priced. I'll preface this by noting that I love Buster's Sea Cove in St Lawrence Market. When I found out they had a food truck and saw the items on the menu I jumped at the chance to try it when it was in the area. <br/><br/>I was so disappointed in the meal and the sentiment was echoed by 3 other coworkers who also ventured down to Front & Sherbourne. <br/><br/>Lobster roll was boring, under seasoned and over priced. Shredded lobster on a grilled hot dog bun is what I would call it. There was literally nothing to this dish and to spend $13. If this is what people rate as "amazing" I question their sanity. Adding in a bag of chips does not save anything. <br/><br/>Shrimp tacos were ok. Nice heat with the salsa, shrimp was cooked well but again lacking general seasoning and extremely over priced. The menu has changed and as far as I could tell, it used to be 3 tacos for 9 but that is no longer the case. <br/><br/>Combined cost was $22 and I had to go get a second lunch. I am all for spending money on good food when it is memorable but Buster's Sea Cove did not win points in any category. <br/><br/>Save your money for the shop in St Lawrence and you'll be happy that you did.
Tosh Weyman
Great lobster roll, but too small. Had a really tasty lobster roll here for lunch, but at $13 the portion just seems too small. I'm all for eating "reasonable" portions, but if it wasn't for the included bag of chips I'd still be starving right now. Don't think I'll be back unless the portion increases.
Jamaal
The $13 Lobster Roll was delicious and would have been worth every penny had they made it a little larger.
TwrPwr
Absolutely no value for many of your dollars. Expect less than average portions for more than average money. Paid $10 + tax for basically half a sandwich....
Sexini4eva
Service with an attitude. Food is okay (nothing special) a little bland if you ask me. There is limited space to sit, bumping into the other tables and customers. Also, the man that calls your number when your food is ready - forget it- biggest attitude ever. On multiple occasions he has been extremely rude to myself and my company. With word of mouth and social media ever expanding I will definitely spread the word to all my colleagues in the financial district and elsewhere to beware, take caution and avoid this place like the plague. Used to be a regular - lost it's touch.
Sabbyy
Mehh!. It's nothing to write home about. Had the Haddock and chips. I wish the fries were bigger like normal fish & chips but they were little shoe sting fries. Coleslaw was ok but not the best.
Kyzr808
Return visit. Great fresh seafood. Ordered the grilled calamari and lobster bisque. Both were well prepared. Though soup service was slow the cooking brigade handles the busy volume quite well. This place is a must try. 90%

Loved it. The sandwiches are unforgettable. Loved every bite. I would go there every day if I live close by.

Just got grilled salmon sandwich. Awesome. Delicious. Salmon serving size was very generous. Definitely a treat and excellent value for money and time. :)

Lunch at the market. Grilled calamari, green salad and a Diet Coke. A perfect light lunch on a sunny afternoon in Toronto. Visited last week and am sure to return for a repeat visit. Perhaps I will try one of the fish sandwiches next time. Generous use of garlic on the calamari and in the salad dressing. Very appealing.

Fresh Seafood. Pros:<br/>- Fresh Fish... FRESH!<br/>- Fish sandwiches are awesome. Onion rings are great<br/><br/>Cons:<br/>- Fries are mediocre<br/>- Busy<br/><br/>Busy means fresh. Nice to see that Toronto has a place to get good fish. I look forward to trying out their different fish options
Jackiecakes
Had the grilled squid as all recommended with salad. Was worried it might not be enough but the portion was HUGE! Tasted so fresh and perfectly grilled/seasoned. The atmosphere is fun - we were given burgers to try (see pic) bc they're considering it as a food truck option which is something I Toronto needs! Go early if you want a seat
Andrew Chalmers
Fish sandwich a staple Something they do with the bread it's amazing and the fish is done perfect Great sandwich
Nes
Highly recommended. Can't decide which version of their calamari I enjoy more - deep fried or grilled on a bed of garlic oil infused basmati rice.<br/><br/>This place is usually packed, but the efficient staff make sure your wait is not too long.
Zilla
I ordered their Shrimp in rose sauce with herbs (comes on basmati rice and a side of coleslaw)... Paid $15 and got exactly 5 shrimp. Horrible value.
Nic Morgan
The Halibut on a bun and the Orzo are our favorites, but given to lines, I'd be surprised if there were anything on the menu that wasn't excellent.

An absolute must try

Great spot to be in the summertime is the St.Lawrence Market. Buster's is an awesome place to grab fresh seafood. The most is always busy, usually a lineup when I've gone. But it's worth the wait. The guys on the line are fun to watch. And yes they do take pride in what they do. 4/5
Tara Lyons
Best breakfast in Toronto. Omelettes are fresh and made to perfection. Guys seem to take pride in work and ingredients. Thanks to all at Busters.
PT
The fish sandwich is near perfection. I would put it up there as one of the top sandwiches in the city ... On par with the Schnitzl Queen. Fries are not the best but the sandwich is substantial enough to stand on it's own.
Great Miscellany
I have known about Buster’s Sea Cove for some time now, but I finally found myself in the St. Lawrence Market neighbourhood in Toronto so I decided to try it out. I’m not sure why I was expecting it to feature more shellfish but I can tell you that the menu predominantly consists of grilled or fried fish sandwiches with a condiment table full of Sriracha and malt vinegar. I sprang for the “Sashimi Grade” (sic) swordfish sandwhich with a side of fries. The fries were pretty good, shoestring style. The swordfish itself, while fairly yummy, was a bit firm and a little dry. I suppose this is supposed to be expected since swordfish is a firm fish, but I do think it was a little overcooked. Apparently they have a food truck as well. Apparently, I don’t care about food trucks In any case, they have a much more interesting offering than your standard fish and chips joint and I would definitely go back to sample something else. I have been wanting to try Buster’s Sea Cove for over a year now. Their food truck had always eclipsed me, but it was their market location that I really wanted to go to (seeing as the lobster combo was the same price, but comes with only a bag of chips from the truck). Unfortunately, as you can see from their hours, it is hard to coordinate a time to go (and I am actually hungry). Last weekend, I finally got the chance to try it, and here are my thoughts.
Doreen
Buster's was the first seafood food truck in Toronto and is famous for their lobster rolls and seafood tacos. At this location in St. Lawrence, they have an extensive menu with various fishes and sandwiches but no tacos. Their 'Special of the Day' was the lobster roll so I assume that that's usually the case, since it's their signature food truck order. You have the option of fries and coleslaw or salad for the side. I, of course had to go with Lobster Roll with Fries and Coleslaw for my order which was $15. We got our orders and headed to Will's to enjoy the food outside on the balcony. With food like this, there's just a sense of 'you need to eat this outside' kind of feeling attached to it.

Buster's Sea Cove is located inside St. Lawrence Market and many of my friends raved about it, not to mention its obvious popularity on...
Popcorn_009
Buster Seacove serves up fresh seafood ranging from traditional good old fish n chips (with their famous shoe string fries) to a swordfish sandwich grilled to perfection (unfortunately devoured before the photos were taken
 oops)

Probably one of the best places to eat there is Buster’s Sea Cove. The line is always long on Saturdays but we went on a weekday and there was almost no line.

Buster’s Sea Cove used to have what were my favorite fish tacos, but no more. I ordered them during Luminato, and they came out immediately, not made to order, pretty much cold and had been sitting around. Yuck! Also gone seems to be the crunchy purple cabbage that I liked so much. And they raised their prices from $4 each last summer to two for $10. Located at the back of the bustling St. Lawrence market, you will find a simple yet delicious takeout restaurant that seems as if it has been transplanted directly from New York City...
Allericcaneat
The first bite was an explosion of the sea! The fillet of fish was soft, tender and moist, almost breaking apart when bitten into. The char of the grill also made the piece of fish very tasty, as it added a nice, almost slightly burnt flavor. I was also surprised by the size of the fillet in the sandwich, as it was quite large. The appearance also served on a piece of "newspaper" which provided a very rustic feel.<br/>
David Kong
The lines form early in the St. Lawrence Market. Not for the myriad producers and butchers but for an unlikely fast food joint. It specializes in nothing quintessentially Canadian, just a mouthwateringly good swordfish sandwich and chewy fries.
Hardtopleasefb
The portions was big and you will be full.

The restaurant had a great cottage feel to it as well as a nice patio for the warm weather. Check it out and let me know what you think!
Hellokitty0313
I can't believe it has been this long since I finally tried this place. I heard a lot of good things about it but every time I'm here, it is always packed at the seating area and line ups which just drives me away. This time, I actually waited in line, it was pretty long as it was during the weekend but they were taking orders as we waited in line so the actual waiting for the food was not that bad once you paid. I got the lobster roll with fries. The bread was grilled with some garlic butter, nice and hot. The lobster filling was big chunks of lobster meat with very little seasoning. Large portion of fries on the side. I don't know if it was because I waited too long or that it was an expensive sandwich, it didn't meet my expectation.

it's so nice to visit St. Lawrence Market once in a while.. trying some fresh seafood from the market.. visiting Buster's Sea Cove, one of our favs!!

<br/>Overall, very VERY fresh fish. They also have an infamous seafood risotto that we did not end up getting. Very cheap for the quality you are getting :) Great place to stop and eat while you are roaming around St. Lawrence Market!<br/>
Tips Are Included!
We picked up a few things and as we were wandering around we noticed the long line up at Buster's Sea Cove. That could only mean one thing...this place was good. We decided to pick up a little snack to tide us over until dinner. We had every intention of going to Grand Electric for dinner to keep with the Cinco de Mayo theme of the day.  We ordered the fried calamari and the fried clam strips with fries. When they finally called out our order number, I was surprised by the amount of food that we were presented with.  The calamari would have been enough.  The calamari and the clams were both served with seafood sauce and lemon on the side
Food In The City Toronto
It was my dad’s birthday a few weeks ago so I decided to take my parents out to Toronto just because they never leave Oakville. Not implying theres anything wrong with Oakville but they’ve just been couped up for too long so I thought it would be nice to take them somewhere they don’t go too often. I decided to take my parents out to St. Lawrence Market and ended up having lunch at Buster’s Sea Cove. My dad doesn’t like his foods to be fancy and prefers it to be deep fried. So when we were walking around St. Lawrence Market I suggested Buster’s Sea Cove. Although there seems to be a  galore of people waiting to order, waiting for their food, waiting to be seated & eating (at the very few tables)- everything seemed to move along fairly quickly. We waited less than 5 minutes to order and waited less than 5 minutes for my food and found a nice picnic table outside the Market and enjoyed our food under the sun! The special of that day was the Lobster Roll for $15. We decided to opt for oth

I decided to get the Crab Cake Sandwich, the sandwich was huge that I could only eat half of it. One thing that I love about Buster's is that they toast the bread. The crab cake was full of crab with little filler. When I had the other part of the sandwich, cold, it was equally as delicious as when it was hot.
Jyau
I honestly don't think there's anything better than good seafood and when I found out Buster Sea Cove had a food truck that sold lobster rolls I had to check it out. The food truck is usually dock somewhere different each day so all over downtown can get their lobster rolls.
Carmenhungry
I went for the Grilled Swordfish ($12.95) with fries (+ $1.25). It’s been awhile since I’ve had such fresh fish. Grilled perfectly it’s simple and that’s exactly how I wanted it. No extravagant sauce (not this time at least ;D). I love the curly fries but I prefer the onion rings; the batter was light. P.S. St. Lawrence Market is glorious!
FoodigatorJ
Seafood is fresh but overall the food is kind of bland. The quality of ingredients makes up for the lack of seasoning. I would go back one more time to try the grilled calamari.
Christine X2
My brother and I split the lobster roll, which was served with a pickle and kettle chips, which was pretty delicious despite being served somewhat cold, was not at all for sharing. It’s a tiny sandwich, but at $13 for lobster, I shouldn’t have expected any larger. It’s lobstah! It was lobstah on a light buttery (oxymoron), toasted bun.
Vickie Cheung
The sauce was light yet flavorful enough not to overpower the fresh natural flavor of the mussels and love how the lemon wedges was actually cooked together which gave the sauce a backdrop of lemony flavor (must try that at home). Nothing beat super fresh seafood =D

Buster's Sea Cove is my go to spot for all seafood cravings at St. Lawrence Market. Known for its excellent fish sandwiches, fried fish, curly fries and homemade coleslaw; this family-owned location has made quite a name for itself...

Buster’s also has a few other options you wouldn’t expect from a takeout stand. Grilled swordfish, seafood bisque, rainbow trout, even octopus to name a few. It ain’t fine dining by any means, but they truly do push the limits of what takeout is both in quality and selection.
The Urban Craze
After a Canada long weekend filled with BBQ and beer, I decided to give myself a couple of days off from work to recuperate and as well get some awesome eats in some places I wished I frequented more often.  One of these places is the iconic St. Lawrence Market.

Buster’s Sea Cove in the St. Lawrence Market in Toronto is very very popular and there are always long lines on Saturdays. Even though the line is quite long looking, the staff are very efficient, so it shouldn’t take too long to order and then receive your items. BaguetteGirl, CanuckGirl, Fabo and I went here to eat lunch since we heard the fish sandwiches were to die for. Plus, there was a long lineup, so there must be a reason why they were there. New England Clam Chowder (S- $3.80) comes with a small cup of goldfish crackers. CanuckGirl thought it was good but not very creamy. Calamari & Salad ($9.95) was actually just a box of calamari and then a box of salad. The calamari tasted fresh, but it wasn’t very crispy. It comes with a marinara type of sauce. The salad was pretty usual but it does come with a balsamic vinegar. Shrimp in Rose & Herb Sauce ($11.95) comes with a bed of basmati rice and slaw. Fabo enjoyed the size and freshness of the shrimp. Grilled Salmon Sandwich ($8.95)
Food Punk
St. Lawrence Market is an institution in downtown Toronto. Housed in a big wooden building that basically looks like a big barn, the market is rich with history and is the location of one of my biggest Toronto addictions: the peameal bacon sandwich. It’s rumoured that famed bad boy chef, Anthony Bourdain stopped by St. Lawrence Market earlier this summer while filming his hit show, Layover . I wonder if he’s addicted to the peameal bacon sandwich too. St. Lawrence Market, 95 Front Street East Toronto, ON St. Lawrence Market is over 200 years old. It’s located at a site proclaimed as “ the Market Block ” in 1803 by Lt. Governor Peter Hunter. It reminds me of ancient roads in London, England that were named for their function: Bread Street, Milk Street or Honey Lane . A cool interactive timeline on the St. Lawrence Market’s website reveals its intricate history that involves the Gr

93 Front Street East Toronto, ON 416-369-9048 Hours: Tue-Thu 8 am - 6 pm Fri 8 am - 7 pm Sat 5 am - 5 pm Follow the long line up!  You know it must be something good when it has the longest line in the market! The line moved relatively quickly.  Cash or Debit.  Make sure you know what you're ordering before getting in line.  They have a great system where someone walks down the line with a headset taking your order so by the time you get to the register to pay your food is out instantly.   Kinda hard to see my Lobster Roll and coleslaw,  buried underneath some crispy french fries. Flipping delicious...  Love it.   Giant blob of fish n' chips Halibut Sandwich

Back at ground floor level, Buster's Sea Cove offers various fish in sandwich format or to serve it with salad, fries or rice, mostly under a tenner depending on what type of fish you choose. We opted for a sandwich - beautifully fried fish with tartare sauce and a little salad in thin, crisp bread. We also got grilled calamari that was dressed in a garlicky, lemon and parsley sauce. The squid took on the flavours of the charcoal grill, and was tender and smoky. The slaw was thankfully mayonnaise-free, and I was only sad we couldn't fit in a portion of fries as they looked like the skin-on, crispy, curly version. Who doesn't love curly fries? (Don't say you. Then we couldn't be friends.) Be warned; the market isn't open on Sundays or Mondays.<br/>

The only down side to this place is that it's always packed for lunch. But the food here totally makes up for it. You simply cannot go wrong with picking something from the menu. They've also opened a sister restaurant in the lower level of the St. Lawrence Market. I gotta check it out next time.

I give Buster's a high score for its freshness, portions, and service.<br/><br/>Its no wonder this place has crazy line-ups on the weekends - its great food at a good deal.  I had the Haddock & Chips (w/ coleslaw); prior to that meal I had the Blue Fish; I just love the fact the fried fish fillets are nary a bit greasy, its amazing - I didn't have that greasy oily feeling after eating from here.<br/><br/>The chips (fries) are great too - crispy and crunchy, but with a little tenderness so as not to be matchsticks :). Oh, and I also had the clam chowder - really really good stuff for a cold Winter's day.<br/><br/>Was glad to come early on a Saturday and get my order in and secure a seat - no word of a lie you may be standing and eating in the St.Lawrence Market as seating is almost impossible to find.<br/><br/>It used to be a tradition to grab a pea-meal bacon sandwich while at the Market; I think that will be on hold for a while now as I grab some fresh seafood meals from Busters. :)

Buster's Sea Cove - Buster's is domiciled inside St. Lawrence Market in downtown Toronto. You won't miss this place as it is quite evident due to it's consistent line ups and it is the only seafood eatery in the market. Buster's is known for their calamari, lobster, and anything related to seafood! My personal fave is the grilled octopus served on a bed of salad! Prices range between 10-20 dollars approximately. I rate this place a perfect 5 as it is for sure guaranteed seafood satisfaction!

Great seafood salads. <br/>I know people go here for crab cakes, and fish & chips. <br/>The swordfish salad is incredible, and they are sourcing really good seafood all year round. <br/>Downside is that there's always a lineup around lunch time, but it's worth every minute that you're waiting.

One of the more popular food establishments in the St. Lawrence market, this seafood professional whips out fantastic tacos and meals be it lobster roll or fish tacos - and always drawing a huge crowd. That means coming in early to enjoy a freshly made seafood po’boy is definitely worth it. However, Buster’s lean closer to the more pricey range of casual dining and it’s a good treat for that special summer date or when feeling peckish after a hard day of groceries.

Several weeks ago I was at the St. Lawrence Market for a jam making class. After the class I had a few hours to kill and chose to walk around the market in search for something to eat. The options were endless, but ultimately I settled on calamari. <br/><br/>The line for Buster's was long, but it moved really quickly. I asked them the price difference between the grilled calamari and the fried calamari ($2 difference), so I went for the cheaper fried option. I had originally asked for a salad to go with my calamari, but changed my mind at the last minute and they were totally cool with me changing my order. It took less than 5 minutes for me to get my food. <br/><br/>I found an empty stool and began to eat my food. And there was a lot of it! The fries were good, but got soggy pretty quickly because of the box they came in (I asked for my food to go). The calamari was okay, but I did not really like the batter. Yet, even though the food was not amazing, something about the service and their really accommodating nature made the whole experience a good one. I am excited to try the other items on their menu. Oh, and they have debit. A huge plus since many vendors at the market only take cash.

Love love love this place! Its sooo busy at lunch so im usually eating there just before it starts getting packed. Wish there was more seating inside but as for the food, they do seafood right! The mussels and sardines are great, ive tried the calamari too and the octopus next time!

I got the PoBoy Shrimp Sandwich!<br/>Oh MY GOD!<br/><br/>It was like my mouth went to Atlantic heaven.<br/><br/>The bread was not too soft not hard, the shrimp was nicely breaded, the accessories were pickles, cucumbers, lettuce, onions and tomatoes. There was a nice sauce which I think is unique to this joint that just brought it all together nicely. I would definitely recommend this to anyone, even if you aren’t a big seafood fan.<br/><br/>They are located at the back of St Lawrence Market. You should also browse the rest of the market for some fresh eats and groceries! They have an excellent variety of meats, cheeses, produce and sweets!

A must-try in St.Lawrence market! Amazing seafood and so many choices. I love the fish sandwiches with the fish of your choice. The bisques and chowders are also great.

The Clam Chowder  at Buster’s Sea Cove (St. Lawrence Market) is so good that I find myself halfway through before I remember to snap a picture. Their Lobster Bisque is also off-the-chain.

I like this place because of its fair amount of items in the menu despite having just a small spot in St. Lawrence Market. There's always line but it goes smooth and food is cooked perfectly (I could judge from the calamari). Meals are usually made of a portion of fish and fries but you can choose to substitute fries with salad. The only bad thing that I can say about Buster's Cove is that there's the possibility of not finding a place to sit nearby, which can be annoying. But it's a place to visit for sure.

Every good thing that people usually say about this place is probably true. Buster's is always busy and they're always churning out awesome sea food. I've been to the outlet at St Lawrence Market more than once and I've never been disappointed. There almost always will be a queue, but it moves quickly. Place your order at the counter and pay, and wait till your number is called out.I've had a few different kinds of fish & chips - haddock, halibut, Boston blue - and they've all been great. It's always fresh and I've never been disappointed. Served with tartar sauce, a wedge of lemon, and a slaw salad, you certainly should try this once.I've also had the crab cake sandwich, and OMG! this is so bloody awesome, I wanted to just keep ordering the crab cakes. There's a tab too much bread crumb (personal opinion), but it's the taste that counts and it was awesome. If you're anywhere near the St Lawrence Market and crave seafood, don't go anywhere else - head straight to Buster's!

A crowded, popular and over rated booth in St. Lawrence Market. I have been to this place twice and still don’t see the charm. The food is average and no where near being fresh. Slightly over priced if you ask me for the quality and quantity. They fill up your plate with salad and not enough fish. I fail to see the hype. <br/>

One of my foodie friends from Toronto recommended me this place and I loved it! It is inside of the market.<br/>They serve grilled and fried fish: salmon, squids, white fish, shrimps...everything is fresh and marinating, ready for grill/fry it! I went for the grilled squids w/ salad. It was scrumptious and ridiculous cheap. I paid 12 cad and I got to share my plate with my friend! Great seasoning and perfect grilled, I left the market with happy tummy! <br/><br/>They have a small sitting are inside, but I would recommend you to sit outside. There are a few camping tables available, and this is the perfect time for that
