Incredible place to spend the day loved it, food was incredible and drinks were even better, service was ok
In no time, the first Winterlicious ($48) course was served. Similar to a ceviche, the escabeche marinates the octopus and scallop in an acidic solution. However, in this case, the seafood is poached first before the marinade so the texture remains tender and the tartness is mellow and manageable. I did find it a tad under seasoned (a sprinkle of salt from the table helped rectify this), given the citrus vinaigrette is light.
Amongst the meaty octopus and delicate scallop were crunchy shaved fennel and endives, juicy orange and lime segments, and creamy avocado. A delicate and surprisingly bright start – a glimpse into the warmer spring months ahead of us.
Despite being cooked through (my first instinct is to look for the slightly translucent rose centre), the grainy mustard coated salmon was still moist. Always a wonderful experience at Azure. Whether it be dinner, brunch , breakfast, Winterlicious, Summerlicious or even a stay at the hotel, the staff lavish you with attention and care. Tonight, my friend Genie and I went to sample the 2017 Winterlicious menu, and the staff made us feel so special, especially Mohammed, our main server. The room is beautiful as always with lush greenery and high glass ceilings. Start the evening out right with the signature Azure Blue cocktail. With our meals we asked for wine pairings; it costs a little extra but it’s well worth it. But first, we MUST have some warm artisan bread, sided with a herbaceous salty-sweet butter.
With fall quickly approaching, I’m reminiscing about the great meals I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying this summer, which included dinner at Azure, the restaurant of the Intercontinental Toronto hotel on Front street. Azure kindly invited me to visit for dinner and to try out their special summer drink, a boozy Watermelon Margarita. One thing I always miss about the warm weather is sipping drinks out on the patio, the fruitier, the better. Disclaimer: All food and drinks reviewed below were provided complimentary. Thanks Azure Restaurant & Bar which is inside the InterContinental Toronto Centre (@ICTorontoCentre) for inviting us back to taste their Summerlicious menu and once again it was delicious with same amazing service. Their Summerlicious prix-fixe menu are for $28 Lunch and $48 Dinner with Vegetarian option.
BiteMe @ICTorontoCentre: Azure's breakfast offering include a sit down menu or a buffet option. We asked what the menu offers that one couldn't get at the buffet, and the main thing was eggs benedicts. Also, the buffet was offering pancakes that morning, and on the menu you can order French toast and waffles (though that gets rotated each day for the buffet).

Summerlicious is back in full swing and currently running until the 24th of this month. Given that Summerlicious menus are only being offered for the 9 remaining days, my friend and I decided to take advantage of the offering and made a visit to Azure Restaurant & Bar (Facebook: Intercontinental Hotel / Twitter @ICTorontoCentre). Located inside the Intercontinental hotel, Azure showcases seasonally inspired, contemporary Canadian cuisine.

Inside the prestigious intercontinental, its the main restaurant of the hotel, under a very nice glass ceiling, with a beautiful daylight coming through. The staff are just amazing, specially William who is Extremely welcoming, always smiling with a perfect knowledge about both the food menu and the wine list. Talking about the menu, its very rich and selective with many signature dishes. We tried the Kale walnut salad and the endive pomegranate, both were very fresh and delicious. We tried the Arctic char pan roasted fish as well as the crusted grilled salmon, and these were extremely tasty and full of flavors. All in all I was extremely satisfied. And hey, don't forget to try their Niagara Ice wine with the dessert.
A great place for dining experience. Summerlicious menu offers a good variety of quality food choices. My wife and I picked different items, and we actually enjoyed all dishes. We would love to go again.
