Great lunch
We had grilled calamari and souvlaki. The service watt fast and friendly. The good was delicious and abundant.
I have been away from the Danforth for decades now, and haven't been to this restaurant for years, but am happy I was invited for a meal at Pantheon by a denizen of the Danforth. I will be making the effort to cross town to go there in future. Really love the place. The food (a superb house salad and subtly seasoned moussaka, with a complementary honey cake offered as a courtesy) was terrific, and the staff couldn't have been more professional, including the owner, Olga, who went out of her way to make us feel welcome.
Amazing Greek experience. Quality and quantity with reasonable prices. Nice house wind. 2 👍. Visited the place many times for years. Lives in area so I tried many restaurants there. I can say with confidence that it is the best Greek restaurant in Greek town
What a fun place! We had my dads 60th birthday here last night and had such a great time. The spanakopita was my favourite. We tried the dips, olives, calamari, Greek salad and the pork and chicken souvlaki plates. I don't think I've ever been so full. The waiters are really into their jobs and run around yelling OPA and things like that. It's cheesy but I loved it!
Good food! Chicken nicely grilled and salad fresh. Others enjoyed the drilled calamari and the burger too. Classic traditional but reliable.
went to pantheon restaurant for the first time with a group of 12 of us. The service was fantastic, the food was fresh and delish. i would recommend this greek restaurant to everyone i know. The paintings on the wall are fabulous and it feels like home when you are there. The restaurant is crazy busy so i would recommend that you make reservations prior to going to the restaurant to eat.
LOVED IT best greek restaurant in town
Good Greek cuisine love the grilled kalamari and if it's your birthday you get the best happy birthday song from the waiter. Place is one of the busiest on the danforth for good reasons.
Two years ago, my girlfriend brought me here the next day after we met. She, being Greek, told me this was her favorite Greektown restaurant.
It was an early Monday afternoon and our waiter, Bobby, took care of us brilliantly and, as expected, the food was simply delicious!
Since then, we have come back together on different times and occasions - with family and friends as well - and, undoubtedly, this place has become my favorite Greek restaurant too.
Note: The grilled seafood is one of our favorites!
We were there again last night celebrating my girlfriend’s birthday and it was wonderful one more time.
That said, this is the first restaurant I rate the highest score on this page for the following reason:
Every time we've had the chance to go, the food has been constantly enjoyable to us and to our guests and, it's been our pleasure to be served with so much attention and courtesy making us feel like family.
¡Bravo!
Finally, I'd like to share my opinion regarding a couple of points addressed in other reviews:
Menu/Price: Their menu is very affordable and the portions are very satisfying. It has a wide range of options that could fit into any reasonable budget or diet while allowing you to enjoy worthy food.
Decoration: Yes. It's not luxurious nor modern but it seamlessly goes with the ambiance of the place. Don't come here to impress people with fancy artifacts, come here for a delicious mealtime!
One of the better Greek restaurants on the danforth. Little more expensive but worth the price. Known for there seafood, I highly recommend the Garides Saganaki.
Our favourite Greek restaurant on the Danforth has to be Pantheon. Yes, I know that over the years the prices on the menu have gone up and some of the plating have been slightly reduced, so what else is new. The quality of the food is never sacrificed and the service is strictly European in style. So don't be upset with it. We drank Nico Lazardi Rosé, grenache rouge, wine of Greece 750 ml. 12.50 alc./vol. We ate Large Pantheon Dips: Pikilia Taramasalata (red caviar, puréed bread, olive oil); Melitzanosalata (Puréed eggplant, secret recipe); Tzatziki (pressed Greek yogurt, garlic, herbs); Tirolafteri (Sautéed feta cheese, hot peppers); Humus (Chickpeas, hot peppers); octopus, onions, capers; gigantesand grilled pitas followed by a number of appetizers. It was never our intention to order any mains. So we enjoyed: Sikotaki Kotas - pan fried chicken livers, sautéed peppers, mushrooms, onions, herbs; Pikadiko Loukaniko - sautéed sausage, peppers, mushrooms, onions, herbs; Fried calamari; Garides Saganaki - sautéed shrimp, garlic butter, fresh tomato, melted cheese; and Sweet honey cake.
Amazing food - went on a hot day with baby and hubby and we all had a great experience! The grilled calamari & octopus Greek salads were tasty & fresh, baby loved the dip platter & the spanakopita was crisp & delicious! The service was amazing & overall, I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great Greek dinner. Just be aware, it's not cheap, but the portions are generous & worth every bite!
Biggest thing going for this place is the food and there's nothing wrong with that!. The Saganaki appetizer (fried cheese spread) is salty goodness to put on bread. Highly recommend it. Also, I had the Grilled Calamari on Greek salad and I can tell you, without using easy food cliches, it's one of the best I can remember in the city. Really tasty.
What Pantheon doesn't have going for it is atmosphere/decor. Extremely dated and in dire need of an update. The service is also sub par. Just seemed like everyone in the building had an attitude and barely said anything to us. Lastly, the prices. I know it's kind of par for the course for some of these Danforth Greek spots but having to pay $80 with tip for an app, two salads and two glasses of house wine is outrageous.
I enjoyed the really solid food here, hence the generous 3.5, but beyond that...I was left wanting more. Can't say I'll seek Pantheon out anytime soon.
Everyone seems to go to the famous Mesini's on the Danforth but in fact there are a lot of other good Greek restaurants in the area such as this place pantheon. They have excellent fish here but rather quite pricey they always have fresh daily fish and meat. Service is very friendly here but dinner is not cheap.
This is a spot that I've been patronizing since I was in grade school. My family lived in Greek Town from the time I was in JK up until gr 8 so I've always had a soft spot for Greek food.
What you can expect from this resto is quality and consistency. Over the past 25 years I've been eating here, I've never had a bad meal. Their grilled calamari is hands down the best in the city. In fact, it's better than what I had in Greece (no joke!). I always like to have mine with their horiatiki salad.
Their souvlaki skewers are always grilled to perfection - moist and tender. Their grilled whole fishes are also highly recommended.
For apps, their Garides Saganaki is simply mouth watering with generous portions of shrimp, tomatoes, cheese, and mushrooms. I've also always enjoyed their grilled mushrooms too.
What's better than a meal that's healthy and extremely delicious? Just come hungry as their portions are quite generous!
Very authentic Greek food. The grilled calamari on a Greek salad is absolutely amazing.
I had the most amazing dinner at Pantheon. My boyfriend took me out to Pantheon for my birthday a few weeks ago and it was the best experience I've had at a restaurant in a while (and we go out to eat a lot). We were originally planning on going to Messini for gyros but while we were walking past Pantheon I changed my mind, telling him I'd prefer to go here instead. We were so happy to have made that decision. We walked in a little late (the gentleman who sat us told us the kitchen was closing in 20 mins but they let us come in for dinner anyway...we felt bad). Anyway, as a starter we ordered grilled calamari which was beyond amazing (the gentleman serving us told us it was a great choice, and it really was), then for our dinner I ordered the standard souvlaki dinner with rice, greek salad (amazing salad), potatoes, and carrots (I didnt understand how they fit on the plate but they were good too). My boyfriend ordered a large greek salad with chicken on top, he was very impressed by his meal as well. Everything really was spectacular. The service was what made me come onto this site and write a review however. I have never been treated better at an establishment than I had that night. Just genuinely really nice people working there. As we were about to pay our bill, our server brought us over a piece of insanely good honey-semolina cake, on the house. What a nice gesture that was. I really suggest anyone who is looking for a place to eat on the Danforth that isn't the generic "Messini" or Mezes to go here. They have exceptional service and amazing food. Thanks for the great night!
We love going here with large groups! Just enjoyed it last night ! I am Portuguese and have been eating seafood my whole life, so when I say that pantheon makes an amazing grilled octopus and grilled calamari it's because they really do ! The saganaki is always pleasant. I had the roasted lamb for the first time there and it's was great also, very tender! I can understand some negative comments about
service, but personally I go for the food and good times with friends, and the older gentleman that sings happy birthday is unforgettable. Always great times !
Four of us went to dinner tonight and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Food was yummy, service spot on and price reasonable. Only thing I did not like was the frozen fish filet. Still tasty though. If you're a seafood lover I thunk you won't enjoy this place. Lamb was cooked to perfection, and honey cake is a must try! Good eats
Great Food! This is the most authentic greek food you can get outside of grandmas cooking. If your celebrating a birthday they have the best staff for that!

+4.5
Even the Greek Salad was Good!!! & I hate salads!!!!
Great food!. Authentic greek food and it was so great. We ordered the escargot appetizer which was baked in a dish with cheese tomatoes and mushrooms..we must've had at LEAST 20 escargots which were AMAZING... Tip: Eat it with the bread they give you... Greatest thing in the world.
We ordered the grilled calamari which was amazing as well.. Well seasoned and the taste of it was so good.. It wasn't super chewy but tender.
Also ordered the lamb shish kebobs which were huge and extremely tender..was served with their tsaziki which was to die for.. Loved the potatoes too!! Everything was just great.
The owner actually was the one serving us and was super nice and courteous, and gave us free cake!! :o) It was kind of like a carrot cake but it was soaked in this sugary syrup...Not a fan of cakes in general but this was a good cake!
Incredible food!. Calamari was the freshest I've ever had, huge! Lamb souvlaki was melt-in-your-mouth tender, unbelievable! This place does it right, keep up the good work!
Highly recomended. One of the few authentic Greek restaurants in Toronto. If you like seafood the fish is always fresh.
Beat real Greek food in Toronto. This coming from a fellow Greek. Everybody I've ever taken to this restaurant also agrees.
This Danforth institution is wildly popular among lovers of authentic Greek food. This is my go to place whenever I'm in the mood for some Greek wine and meze. Colourful murals
Was told it’s the best Greek grilled food in Danforth, and cannot agree it more after a try. The Lima beans was rich in flavor. Grilled Calamari and beef were both great! They also have special salad dressing. Felt like some white wine and was recommended one which was light and good. So got to like more about their food. Overall, a good place for Greek food, but there is always a long line up..
We visited Pantheon on a Friday evening. Really enjoyed the village salad, the aubergine salad and the seafood combo. The grilled octopus was very well cooked. We paired our food with couple of ouzos! Service was fast and our waiter was very friendly.
So glad I came across this place! Walked in on a rainy day for some hot grilled food. I got a mixed platter and my friend got seafood pasta. They were both amazing! The server was also super nice and recommend us a delicious red wine to go with the food. Oh and the cute little honey cake :) was a nice cherry on top. Thank you Pantheon, see you soon!
A solid choice for Greek food along the Danforth. The pork souvlaki dinner with an accompanying Greek salad was delicious. My dining companion had the calimari which was grilled to perfection. The complimentary honey cake at the end of the meal was a nice touch. Service was friendly and quick..
Hands down the best grilled calamari you will have on the Danforth, and probably anywhere this far from the Mediterranean Sea.
Grilled, and seasoned to perfection! The biggest serving you will get and they don't exclude the tentacles.
Absolutely amazing experience!! Excellent food, friendly and fast service. Good portion. Will definitely return.
The food and experience was amazing! My server could tell I hadn't much authentic Greek food, so he helped me out with my order and assured me it would be a big portion, and taste fantastic, and he was absolutely right! Leftovers for tomorrow plus some honey cake is always a win for me 😋
Outstanding. Portions are very generous. The people working when I popped in were so friendly. And I was delighted to find a surprise piece of cake with my take-out order. It's thoughtful touches like these that help a restaurant to stand out from the pack - well that, and the fact that the food is absolutely delicious. Will return again soon for sure. Sending you my very best wishes for when in-person dining opens up again.
