The server was excellent! We were quite surprised with the portion size which was huge and we couldn't eat it all! The coffee was awesome and never an empty cup :-) The restaurant and washrooms were very clean so it's not hard to see why they have been in business all these years! We googled top ten restaurants in Toronto for breakfast and the Sunset Grill was in 2nd place but in our opinion, it could most certainly be in first! š
Visiting from Scotland, came here on our first day and had to go back again before we went home! Staff were attentive, food was fresh, tasty and quick to be brought to the table! Husband says it has the best pancakes in Downtown Toronto! Huge portions and reasonably priced! Would highly recommend! Cherry on top was the server (didn't get his name) who helped us out with directions on our first day, even speaking with an amazing scottish accent as his mum's from Glasgow! Made us feel extremely welcome in a new environment! He's a credit to your establishment!
Great food and awesome service. Our waiter was friendly, very helpful, and kept my coffee topped up. The Peameal bacon was like a thin pork chop and cooked to perfection. Great place to eat!

Great peameal bacon, eggs, and the dark rye is one of my favourites. The service was exceptional. Also, location has a lot going on, great view of Yonge & Richmond with the window seats.

I come often to Sunset Grill because it is close to my work. Yesterday I had a lovely family thanksgiving brunch here and I had the Sunset Super. As usual I enjoyed my breakfast and I will definitely be back!

Had an awesome breakfast waffle with strawberry preserves, fresh strawberries and whip cream. Absolutely delicious. Next time I'm back in Toronto I will go back again. Service was quick and staff are very friendly

Family of Five
Normally as a family of five we get mixed looks from servers as there is never a table for 5 people. They accommodated us fairly quickly and the food was superb, fro the breakfast poutine to the bacon strips the the potatoes. We will be back when we visit Toronto again.
Through Zomato we found this great little all day breakfast place in close proximity to out accommodations. It was a perfect stop for brunch before we began our tourist thing in the area. The service was excellent and the place very clean. Highly recommend!!
An extremely sumptuous breakfast. Started with the orange juice, which was fresh and not too sweet.
Then moved onto the veggie omelette, which is made of 3 eggs, loaded with veggies and served with mashed potatoes and toast of choice.
Finally ended our meal with pancakes. 3 come on a plate served with butter and pancake syrup. They were hot and fluffy and were really delicious.
A lovely way to end our breakfast.

Not a posh place and I'd never heard of them before, so I'm not sure how Famous they are for their All Day Breakfast, but this happened be the closest Breakfast option to my hotel without having to break the bank. I did, however, enjoy my breakfast. Late Sunday morning and this place was packed with only a short lineup. I ordered the three egg option with toast and hash browns, plus 3 Sunset Pancakes. The food came out quickly and fresh. From what I saw, this is a well managed restaurant and I'll probably eat there again on my next visit to downtown Toronto.
Popped in for a work breakfast. Food came quick and was decent enough. Waiter was attentive with coffee refills. Didn't appreciate the three eggs as one giant egg - why have double or triple eggs with every option?
Excellent breakfast. Nothing fried. Super super quick. Came within minutes. Eggs were delicious and the pea meal bacon was superb. My only complaint was the toast. Cheap Texas toast. Just not my thing.
A group of 6 of us came here for lunch. We arrived just after 11:30 with reservations previously made. This is a reasonably priced all day breakfast place in the heart of downtown Toronto. Service was friendly and efficient. Food came out quick, hot and tasty. Nothing super fancy. Just a casual place to have breakfast or diner type food. I'd come back.

It was the 24th of December and the folks at work wanted to go for a fancy breakfast. Ā This is the perfect spot for it at the heart of the financial district. Ā They took our reservation for 12. Ā They have all kinds of eggs, omelettes, waffles, sandwiches, and pancakes. Ā I tried to find a combo that had the most variety. Ā I ended up settling for a Sunset Super which is three eggs, potatoes, sausages or bacon, and two giant size pancakes to end it off. Ā It was really good and hit the spot. Ā The service was excellent as our coffee was bottomless and our conversations lively. Ā Thanks Sunset Grill!
Everything you'd expect from a standard, chain breakfast place. They have your standard eggs, standard pancakes, standard breakfast sausage, standard coffee...(are you getting the hint yet?)
Tasty Way To Start The Day. Went here for breakfast 2 days in a row on a recent stay in Toronto. Everything we had was excellent! This was a very busy place but they do such a good job of keeping things moving along you will not have to wait long. Service was always prompt and pleasant. Two things I noticed about this place that I really appreciated. First is that the person who owns it or at least manages the front of the house does a very good job keeping his staff on top of things by walking around, seating customers, and making sure that everyone on staff is doing exactly what they should. Second thing is that when you watch the staff working in the kitchen, you start to realize how efficient they are at getting the food prepared and ready to go. No time that I was there did anyone ever wait too long for their dish and all of it looked very appetizing. As soon as the plate was made, it went out to the table. Next time I am in Toronto, we will definitely be having breakfast here!
An excellent breakfast. This morning I tried the Eggs Sunset, similar to what I know as Eggs Benedict. They did an excellent job, both with the food and with the service. I arrived just a few minutes after they opened. Coffee was in front of me within moments. I liked my egg dish, plenty of Hollandaise sauce and the peameal bacon was great. I did not care for the potatoes. Service was friendly and very attentive throughout the meal.

It seems more of a fast joint for breakfast/brunch since the cooks on the side were all very busy serving up food and the place is fairly loud.
The Sunset Omelette didnāt look the best, presentation-wise, but the Swiss cheese in the omelette was to die for! It was so cheesy and gooey and chewy! Definitely the best Swiss cheese Iāve had in an omelette. The tomatoes were fresh and the bacon was good too. The home fries were very yummy too! They were soft and had just enough flavour. I also like how everything is grilled instead of deep fried ā something that they pride upon at SG.
The Eggs Florentine was mighty good as well. Iāve only had Hollandaise sauce in terms of Eggs Benedicts with Swiss cheese, smoked salmon, and one other time with Swiss cheese and mushrooms, so this time with sauteed baby spinach was something new. There was ample baby spinach and the Hollandaise sauce didnāt disappoint. The three eggs were perfectly made and so soft. The yolk of the egg just oozed out when you poked it open. This was really good but so filling!
Both of the breakfasts that we ordered were good. They were such super big portions (especially with all the home fries!) that I left the restaurant feeling extremely, extremely full. Itās more affordable than Coraās although I do like how Coras serves their plates with fresh fruit on almost every dish and their environments are so much more colourful and family-friendly, but this was a good dining experience as well. The service here was exceptional and the food arrived quickly.

The servers were a bit careless, they just came to ask for our orders, serve it, and to pay.
The food was good, and good portions compared to the price.
I ordered Eggs sunset and it was so good, specially the sauce they have on top of it.
The other person with me ordered Florentine omelette, I tried it, but it wasnāt my favorite since it had spinach.
The weird thing is that the coffee is not for free or served with the meals
