The only thing not to love is the lineup! Otherwise this place is a great neighbourhood gem! The location in the heart of King West is amazing and the outdoor seating is a great benefit too.
The food is on point. People will say to try the tacos or burrito... but those people are dead wrong! You want to order the fajitas!! Jesus these fajitas are awesome. Like, there even good as takeout (not as good as eating them on the sizzling platter, but damn close). I go with the mix of chicken and steak, but tbh the steak is best.
Did I mention they also have a liquor license! Margaritas, beers and other cocktails. Come on!
10 stars out of 5.
I love Wilbur! I've traveled all throughout California and I have yet to find a burrito that tops their Wilbur Original or their Cali burrito. This place is for the fun yet health conscious who prefer a quality meal that everyone can enjoy. And their Salsa bar is to die for!
My favorite place in the city. The burritos are the best burrito i've ever had in my life. They are so consistant and the sauces they have make the burritos amazing with every bite.
This is my absolute new favorite taco place! Great selection of food, a salsa bar, and cocktails on tap! Cannot wait to go back!
Great place for fast, casual food. Location is excellent on King St. W and a bright airy space.
Fast service and the food quality is excellent. I tried the Baja Fish and the Bulgogi tacos, both were delicious. Lots more on the menu to try so i expect to go back several times.
Great atmosphere and phenomenal food. I always stop by to eat when I’m in Toronto! Wish I had one close to me in the states.
Quick service, love their mushroom tacos. You can veganise most menu items.
The margarita wasn not bad but would rather less ice.
I might have used the woman's washroom - does W/C stand for "women/chica"? I've spent four days and 17hrs pondering this mystery wrapped in an enigma. Set me free
Food, service, atmosphere, hot sauce, salsa, bar, all dialed - $6 raging ice cold Sol. Great experience.
Always impressed, food arrives fresh and delicious easily one of my favourite places when I’m in a rush , a+ service and quality!
Had a fantastic burrito and some awesome chips and guacamole. Great food, service, and atmosphere, will definitely return!
A new staple for King St West!!! Delicious food + Amazing staff & service which makes this fast casual Mexican culinary experience one you will visit again and again. Nailed it with the Pork taco and jalapeno-cilantro crema! And the salsa / hot sauce bars are brilliant. Get into your hot peppers Toronto!
I have had a great steak burrito over here! It was very delicious and what made it even better is the salsa bar that they have. You get the choice of around 10 homemade salsas and countless bottled salsas. You can’t eat inside at the moment but they have a place where you can stand outside and eat.
Me and my hubby love this place. We go whenever we are not on the mood for cooking and want something tasty, relatively healthy and fast. Attention is great and the menu is filled with lots of options. You sure will find something. So far I’ve taste veggie burrito, veggie bowl, mushroom and fish tacos and they’ve all tasted fantastic! Downside: you can not dine inside but c’mon warm sunny days are fantastic outside!
Occasion: walking around king with friends and you’re craving some Mexican and beers
Usually I deliver orders for them through Skip The Dishes Food Courier. Making alot of many customers very happy. Been looking at the foods they make look unbelievably delicious. Will make a time to go there to pig out 🤭 Temporarily they closed their Dine-Ins, assuming waiting for the restrictions to really ease. However walk-ins for take outs and deliveries through the food courier companies are widely available. So come around 😏
Clear menu, great organization and delicious Mexican food! Wilbur Mexicana on King St. West near Portland has vivid branding and good taco selections. During the pandemic, they have no dine-in but has a dedicated bar and organized system for Ritual and other delivery/pick-up apps.
When you walk into Wilbur, you'll see a big vivid yellow menu for their food and also handheld menus are available as well. For first-timers at Wilbur, there are menus at the door for you to take your time and read through. Service is fairly quick with a cashier to take your order (order under the yellow menu). You'll be given an order number and card indicator for staff to recognize to who to give the food. They also have a salsa bar that staff do not monitor for the "1 person/party at a time" rule. The staff are very nice and all your take out orders are packaged in brown bags. Heavily recommend using Ritual as you can order ahead and skip the line.
Food review based on Tacos: Usually for lunch, roughly 3 tacos should do if you don't want to overeat. They come as open-faced soft tacos and with a side of nachos. Depending on the taco you order, it could come with three different choices of tortillas (crispy corn, flour, or corn). We've tried the Grilled Avocado taco, Baja Fish taco, and Bulgogi Taco. The Grilled Avocado taco came with a 1/4 slice of avocado with pineapple-habanero, chipotle crema and cotija cheese. It was a generous amount of avocado (just the right amount for the tortilla and was a delicious combination with the pineapple-habanero. The Baja Fish taco came with beer-battered mahi-mahi, jicama slaw, pico de gallo, chipotle crema. Great choice, fish was battered and cooked not overly crispy but just the right balance between all the other ingredients without going too moist! The Bulgogi taco had Korean beef, jicama slaw, pear and sesame seed. Given that we've had Bulgogi at authentic Korean restaurants, this fusion taco was the real deal Although the Korean beef was not the usual bulgogi cuts, it still had the ingredient combinations. The taco was very delicious and would recommend it! There's still much more to try and we look forward to trying their other categories.
Also, take advantage of their salsa bar that ranges between 0-5000 to 1,000,000 Scoville scale of spice! There's a funny face symbol used to represent the spice level. Salsa bar has from mild to extra spicy: Pico de Gallo, Pineapple (Habenero), Green (Verde Crudo), Brown (Asada), Red (Suave), Orange (Habanero), and Ghost. There are limes at the very end of the salsa bar. They provide a ladle at each salsa offering and single-use small black containers for the salsa to go. Tip: roughly 2 limes fit into each container.
Ambiance: busy restaurant located in the heart of the fashion area. It's a fast food/ service restaurant. You purchase the food, find your own table and they bring the food out to you.
They have so many different sauces out to try to add tons of flavour to your food. It can be overwhelming if you aren't too familiar with them.
Mexican street Corn: absolutely delicious I would go back just for these. Corn with cheese/mayo /spices.
Vegetarian bowl: my least favourite. There was so much happening yet nothing tasted good simultaneously. Even with all the sauce it was bland.
Tacos: highly recommend.
The salsa bar is amazing. So is the hot sauce bar. They fill the container with a few nachos. It is these little things that make you go back.
Ordered grilled Avocado Taco & the Mushroom Taco. The tortilla was a little undone, except for that, great food, service & did I mention the salsa bar & the hot sauce bar ;)
I went to Wilbur Mexicana about a week ago with a friend and can say the food is good and the staff is friendly. I got 2 tacos which ended up costing around $15 (bulgogi beef was my favourite). However, it didn’t really standout to me as exceptionally good considering the price vs other options I’ve tried in the city that were more cost effective.
Since covid, they no longer have any indoor dining, so it is a grab and go. There is some limited space outside to stand and eat.
Highly recommend the shrimp and shroom quesadilla, which comes with guac and sour cream! They have a diverse selection of tacos with some fusion flavours, like bulgogi. Decently priced too; about $5 per taco. They also have a salsa bar where you can help yourself to any salsas of increasing spice tolerance.
