I was in Thunder Bay to do some fishing. Since I live in Miami I want to something a little different. I use Google Map to look up some restaurants in the area and found this interesting place with good ratings. I must say the reviewers were not wrong. Being the first customer there the place was empty but filling up. I ordered a pickerel cake and a northern paella. Both dishes came out very fast I was quite tasty. The service was excellent and the place was nice and clean. The average main dish was 25 Canadian Dallas. They had rabbit, duck ,Pike and other game on the menu. it was quite a unique experience and I would definitely recommend this place.

Great little restaurant in downtown Port Arthur. Menu is based around locally sourced, fresh foods. Pickerel and Northern Pike are included on the menu, as well as other wild game. My personal favorite is the Tarragon Rabbit.

This is an excellent restaurant. It is a high class atmosphere with a creative Canadian twist on classic dishes. The manger is very friendly and open to suggestions. The chef is very talented and has been in the business a long time. I highly recommend this place if you want to impress someone special.

What an excellent restaurant! We've never had a bad meal whenever we've come here. The menu is truly representative of the north. Prix Fixe menus Tues to Thurs. Occasional special menus (recent 5 course tasting menu was awesome). Food is always perfectly prepared. Service is always excellent. Darlene and her staff always do such an amazing job! Wonderful fine dining AND you can carry on a conversation without screaming at each other!

This place is a little gem! If you like game - rabbit, venison etc this is the place for you. I have enjoyed every meal here and have always received amazing service as well. They make a great Cesar with an awkward little piece of bacon wrapped around a stick - its pretty and tasty at the same time. There is a private room that can host larger parties and maybe 10 or so other tables- 2 tops and 4 tops. I recommend making a reservation as I have never seen this place quiet on a weekend evening. The parking is not great - all metered street parking in a busy downtown core -

Went with a group of 8 for the first time last night and all had a great time. I had the pickeral appetizer and the elk pot pie and ate every bit. The service was indulgent and the room very comfortable. Look forward to coming back soon.

Best restaurant experience I have ever had. My husband and I went for our 30th anniversary. When I reserved our dinner I mentioned that and we received a comp dessert. The chef even came to our table and introduced herself. Delicious food, awesome service, fabulous chef. Highly highly recommend.

We were traveling the Lake Superior Circle and needed a special place to celebrate a birthday. It is elegant, but allows all manner of dress as we were in travel, hiking clothes. We were served very well by all the staff. The food was delicious. The birthday girl received creme brulee on the house and the rest of us ordered it also. It was wonderful. We would recommend the restaurant and would return if in the area.

Fantastic service by our waitress Amy! I had the $30 price fixed menu and my friend ordered the Ribs. I was told they were the best Ribs she had ever had! Warm decour and very relaxing music helped this to be an evening to remember!

Price is reasonable, food incredible, presentation a work of fine art and service is out of this world. Spoil yourself and drop by for a meal. never would have thought of eating rabbit but they opened my taste buds and blew my mind.

I was lucky enough to be treated to a dinner here with my partner and friend as we'd never been. The food was exceptionally good, and Tony our waiter was both helpful and charming. Forgive my ignorance to the names of the foods, but the fish-cakes were to die for and everyone at the table had a sip of the strawberry-rhubarb martini which made the two of us who didn't order it wish we had. Lastly, deserts: lemon-raspberry torte and chocolate-chipotle-gift-from-angels-deliciousness (not actual name). Both were fresh and gorgeous in appearance and the taste... well, go try it if you like food that is delicious.

Thank You to the staff at The Silver Birch for accommodating my request for a quiet table on a Friday night jammed with Christmas Parties. It was perfect in the private dining area by the fireplace. Our server was excellent (sorry I forget her name), and the food was absolutely delicious. I had the rabbit and my boyfriend had the veal - both were cooked to perfection with lots of flavour. Have a wonderful holiday season Silver Birch Restaurant :-) Two thumbs up !

Our family absolutely loves this restaurant. Top notch service, exquisite food, very warm and inviting environment. It doesn't matter what you order off the menu, everything is delicious. I recommend the rabbit. The Silver Birch is clearly our favourite restaurant in Thunder Bay.

Went for dinner last night at the Silver Birch, it was my first time going. Food was amazing!! I had the Tarragon Rabbit and will definitely be back again.
I also recommend the BLT Caesar and Nanaimo Creme Bruele.
