After two years stay at home, that is my family first time go out to have yummy all you can eat sushi. That's the grand opening here. Recommend thick and fresh sashimi, hand roll and mango sushi. Happy Dinner šŸ˜

Great place for sushi lovers. Service was so fast. Sushi was fresh and tasty šŸ˜‹

$5 for a few barely-there slivers of avocado that are thinned so much that I could barely lift it with chopsticks. Then thereā€™s these 8 sad, tiny pieces of iceberg lettuce. This offering is a disgrace! First time ordering here and wonā€™t come back. Most sushi restaurants give triple the amount of avocado and way more lettuce. I donā€™t know how any restaurant owner can take pride in this dish. Dressing was a joke. Watered down, weak ginger flavour and overall clumsy and unappealing.

Just happened to stop by on the way back home & so glad we did! Ordered delicious Bento boxes & not only were they filling, but the properly done salmon actually came with the skin! All the items in the B.B. was very tasty. Service was good & the restaurant itself is nicely done. If I lived in the area, I would def be a regular.

One of the best Sushi places. They also offer all you can eat but the all you can eat prices are expensive. Quality of their sushi is amazing and I can't have enough of their sushi. I always get Dynamite Roll and Spicy Salmon. I would recommend to try this place.

I went there 2 week ago after the new management took over. The food quality is good, the price is responsible. The waitress are friendly. This place recommended

Seems like they have new management now. All you can eat is back after a long hiatus from COVID. They don't have octopus on their AYCE menu, which is somewhat disappointing since the previous management had it. They have takoyaki now though, which is nice. Oh, and they aren't too heavy on the rice in the rolls if that's a concern for people. Better than other places in the area at least.

We have dinner at this japanese all you can eat buffet on June 29. Price is $35.99/pp. My son is 10 and he paid $20.95. We were not too happy about the sashimi item without red tuna. I ordered a chicken wing and it wasn't well done. Still see blood coming out after first bite. There were only 2 set of plates and chopsticks. We have 3 people including my son. The server seems didn't realize that we need one more set of plates until we asked for it. Food was so so, no surprise. For that price, I think I can find a better japanese buffet restaurant.

Super food

Very tasty

Very fresh

So many good dishes hard to rank them

Super service

Very quick

So stuffed.

Will definitely visit again

This place needs a menu makeover, big time!! Their selection is limited, there are no descriptions of what comes in their fancy named rolls so I always ask and they always seem annoyed. This is a very unsatisfying sushi buffet experience. I will not be returning here anymore, there are so many better operated places.

Be very careful with this restaurant. They cheated on our bill. Check your bill very carefully before leaving the restaurant. When they are not honest with their clients nothing else matters.

Ordered my food for 12:55 they came at 12:05. Now, I got this sent to my work and decided on 12:55 because I would not be going on my break until 1. when I told them about this they didn't even try to compensate me in any way. " next time you order, well get it right" is all I got. or to send it back and get it at the right time. I use to work in a restaurant, so sending it back is not an option. Also, the food was terrible. The Chicken had bones in it, was covered in fat and over cooked. The aged tofu was not done right and had a weird jelly like substance on the out side of it. After I had a few bites of my chicken, which didn't even taste like chicken, I called to complain about my whole experience and they wouldn't do a thing. This is not acceptable. I also bought food for one of my coworkers as well (same order). All I asked was to be compensated for one of the meals and they wouldn't even do that. If I had another option for food I would have sent it back.

Good portions, reasonable prices and a menu with lots of options. Tried them because they do delivery. I was not let down but was not overly impressed. Had the Black Dragon, the AK47 and the Red Dragon Roll. Despite having cream cheese in it which I normally avoid like plague in maki rolls, the AK47 was the most enjoyable of all 3 rolls. I found the other two rolls quite underwhelming. Would try them again to see if there other menu items are good. Pleasant and punctual service though which is always nice.

WORST SERVICE OF ALL TIME. THIS RESTAURANT HAS THE ANSOLUTE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED.

do not eat here. The manager/owner is rude to people of non-Asian descent.

The servers barely speak English and don't wait on you at all- to the point where to pay the bill I had to ask for it 4 times and get up out of frustration and beg to pay at the bar.

Did I mention that you should not eat here?

DONT EVER EAT HERE. Absolu.... DONT EVER EAT HERE.
Absolute worst service I have ever gotten at any restaurant. Made me wait for 20min to order food and there were only 2 people in the restaurant. Will never go back here.

Dinner on mar 1 2014. Service was too slow even though the restaurant was not full.
Food was good but not delicious

I will never go to that restaurant AGAIN. I went there yesterday, it was a guy serve our table, he was totally not respectable to us, we were thinking what we were going to get on the menu but he seem hurry and just made a decision for us and he didnt ever need our opinion!!! WTF also, at the end of every sentences that he said to us was "OK?,OK?"
and other waitress, she almost yelling at us and other tables
OMG thats the WORST service EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i dont think they have train their staffs, what a terrible restaurant
im very doubt they are japanese, are they?

An average place with all-you-can-eat. The food choices are pretty standard and the freshness is pretty good. It does get quite busy in which it takes a while to flag down servers.

Amazing!. The sushi was the most delicious and fresh I've ever tasted! The service was amazing as well. The price was very reasonable. I go there any chance I get!
Jellybeanie
I ate the egg pudding at Aji Sai Bayview and it was the best dessert I've ever had! It has the legit Japanese style so I can tell they really try and make the restaurant the best they can! I hope some of you decide to try it and enjoy!

I'm actually here right now with my family and friends and I just have to say that I love the food here and the prices are very reasonable! I'm loving it, I ordered so much!

Worst service and sushi. I really had a terrible experience here and I will never go back... The fish was not good at all.. I couldn't even swallow the tuna it was so gross looking. Its really unfortunate since I used to really like this place but the service is SO bad they wouldnt even offer me something else when they saw I could barely eat my meal... Swear I will never go back

Food is great but the restaurant is horribly understaffed. We had to wait 40 minutes between orders. Smells like bleach. Good variety. Extra words

The worst service EVER we have 2 kids one in stroller and the other in high chair. They started giving us weird looks and talking so angry in foreign language even there
was a family in the table next to us while we are waiting they understood what they are saying and they had a " I can't believe what you saying " look. After 15 minutes of waiting i start leaving and no one try to say wait we looking for table.
T. Shore
Just OK. Not nearly as good as Aji Sai downtown (Queen W). Granted, we haven't been there in over a year. Service was fine. We were a large, difficult table and they were pretty good to us. They were out of tuna. Overall quality - sushi and other items - left a bit to be desired. They charge full price for children over 10. That's a deal-breaker for us. Probably won't be back.
Jen
Food is ok i guess, but service is beyond horrible! All staffs are soooooo rude and even hostile they look like they can't wait to get out of here.

Horrible service!!! Been a while since I've been. It used to be better.

We're there for close too 2 hours the 2 of us the service was extremely slow.

They would forget things and had to reorder. Some it's we did not even get.

They would just drop the food and drinks off in a hurried pace with no manners and took forever to get served.

Although I like their food their horrible service will keep me away.

Very VERY BAD!!. Went twice
First visit was great - friday lunch, great price friendly service, food was good and fresh- fast
Second visit was Very VERY BAD- sunday afternoon we didn't realize it was in between the lunch dinner turn over till it was to late- worst time- they should have closed there doors!!! 20 mins into our meal they Turned the music off , lights off in booths -so thr staff could start sleeping in booths, one staff member made couching/horking noises from booth- slow service- unfriendly service- forgot food ordered, left piles of dirty empty plates, no offering to refill water, had to ask- We watch the table next to us walk out on bill! They continued to take new tables straight through then as soon as 5pm hit, alarm clocks woke snoring staff, lights on radio on- it was an unbelievable experience may be the worst ive ever seen!

I love this restaurant. My granddaughter loves sushi and we took her there for her birthday.
Delicious and fresh food, good service and the owner came to bring us the new desert: fried banana with ice cream. Great place and good prices.
I will come back for sure.

I give this place a "like", but only because the food is good. The service is consistently sub-par, and orders are routinely slow/inaccurate. Waiters are never in a good mood, which usually i dont care about, but it may be offputting to most people. There are MUCH better choices in the area though (sushi on 7, yangs kitchen, fushimi, osechi, and maybe even maison du japon). Not sure if i will go back; probably not.
Laura
Service was slow, wait staff was extremely rude. I waited for my food for 30 minutes. The restaurant was not even busy and when I finally got my food, I got sushi rolls and sushi and after waiting ten more minutes, had to ask for my miso soup and got a lot of attitude for doing so. In over an hour, I had one roll and four pieces of sushi. I had to ask for the last things I ordered to go because my lunch was over. I paid and didn't tip because I felt the service was horrible and I believe tipping is not mandatory but it is optional. The cashier was rude and told me loudly that I didn't tip and then told the waiter that I didn't tip also. I have never done this before but the service was extremely bad and I was not satisfied with my meal. Nonetheless, they humiliated me in front other customers and told me I had to tip so i did and then left. I will never return.

I like it. Ive been eating here occasionally for years. The food is good. The service is ok, they do mess up sometimes with orders by forgetting what you asked for, or bringing the wrong stuff. Other than that, pretty good stuff!
Yasso
Probably the only restaurant that has an all you can eat menu and still the food is of very good quality and standard. My family loves it we go there at least once a week.
NC
The food isn't bad, but the service is consistently poor here. I've been multiple times and the servers take a while to get down your order, and they don't have a good attitude towards customers.

Slimy seaweed soup and salad. bad in 2007 bad in 2010. This is terrible sushi. I hope the other franchises are good because this place was just BAD.
I went here with my mom in 2007, it's pretty bad, the seaweed soup smelled slimy. you'd think they just pulled it out of the tank. There were tons of rice in the maki rolls - not much inside. For the price I paid . I was ripped off.
I went again in 2010 under the suggestion of a friend's friend and with them. Sigh. turns out the friend's friend with us was VEGETARIAN. She loves Ajisai because of the Edamame. no wonder. that's the only thing that's palatable = SALT.
Do yourself a favor and drive past this one, there's a good non all you can eat sushi down bayview by a small plaza right after john street. Use your money there it's a wiser choice.

2nd review.. I've read some of the reviews on this restaurant. i would have to say that anyone who had a positive review on this restaurant, must either be the owner logging in, or is directly related to the owner. there is absolutely no way anyone in their right mind could have a single positive thing to say with regards to this restaurant.
in all fairness, i understand that there are several locations, the one my wife and i visited was the one in thornhill, located on bayview just south of hwy 407.
let me review the items we ordered for you:
tonkatsu-the pork was extremely fatty loaded with grissle.
sushi-the riced was extremely dry and the fish had a foul smell
shrimp tempura-very greasy, and it took forever to get to us, but the time we got it, it was ice cold.
seaweed salad-it was still frozen!!!, there was ice still on the seaweed
general chicken-by this time i was simply putting food in mouth and chewing, didn't really want to see what i was eating
korean bbq ribs-which they call veal chop...loaded with all kinds of chemical marination, or so it tasted
sushi rolls-spicy tuna and volcano, this was standard, not very good, just blah...so i would have to say it was the best item we received
seafood udon-LOL, i really have to comment on this one, it was loaded with udon noodles and smelly fish...that's all. when i pointed out to our waitress, that all it had was fish and no other seafood, our waitress insisted that's what seafood udon was!!!
maybe the icecream is decent...wouldn't know, i was so ticked off by the extremely slow service (had to ask for tea three times before we received it), the bad food that i simply left without ordering any dessert.

william

-----28 Dec, 2010-----

Can't even call it sushi. My wife and i went tonight for dinner. first off, it was understaffed and extremely disorganized. by the time we got seated, we had to order our tea on three different occassions before we finally got tea. our waitress basically threw the chopsticks and plates onto our table and then delivered our tea cups with our finger INSIDE the tea cups. dinner is $20/person, for those of you who think this is a good deal, you need to get out more, most AYCE places hover around the $20 to $25/person on weekdays. this place is definitely a waste of $20. save your money, go to McDonald's, you'll feel better and you'll thank me. there was not one redeeming item on the menu that was decent. the fish smelled and tasted foul, most grilled items were fatty and the service was by far the worst ever. people talk about rude chinese waiters and waitresses...most often it's true, but these people took bad service to a new low. in all the years i've been eating out, i've always left a tip, even in the worst restaurants, i've left a minimum 10%, because sometimes it's the cooks who are bad, and other times it's the servors, but in this place everyone is equally to blame for what i would have to say is the worst restaurant ever experienced in or around the gta. again, do yourself a favour and get a whopper or a bigmac rather than wasting even a dollar at this dive.

Do yourself a favour and become a patron of another establishment.

The quality of the victuals served at Aji Sai should only be measured in the amount of calories it contains as the use of any other metric would be offensive and unfair to food intended for human consumption.

Hand rolls are too ricey, seaweed is chewy and its presentation; despicable.
Gyoza dumplings were burnt on one side, and uncooked on the other one, swimming in a bitter sauce changing the texture in contact with it to puree.
Maki and roll-like relatives are always served mushy with the smallest legally possible amount of advertised filling for any false advertising charges not to proceed.

If you still decide to sponsor this place after reading my review, I recommend paying close attention to the following:

1) Review your cheque thoroughly
You're probably wondering... "it is an all you can eat place, how can they over charge me?" The answer is simple: No matter what the size of your party is, they will generously tip themselves and present you with a cheque that:
a) Does not indicate that they have added tip to the cheque.
b) Unless you have a calculator handy, you won't be able to figure it out that they added 22.25% in tip after taxes have been included rounded to the nearest $0.50
c) Not indicated in the menu that they will do this.

2) Be prepared to be treated as if they are doing you a favour of feeding you, not that you are a patron of their establishment. All service staff from bus-boy, waiters and managers are without exception rude, aggressive, condescending and uncouth at best.

3) Wait excessive amounts of time for your food and get your order low balled, shortened and to constantly ask for conveniently missed and forgotten items.

4) Most likely if you dare to bring any of the aforementioned irregularities to management attention, they will make sure to disrespectfully embarrass you in front of other people in the hope that you will give up on the subject and walk away from them paying what they want.

STAY AWAY! You have been finally warned!!. We went for dinner yesterday. Started off okay with prompt service but no smiles but steadily detiorated with time. Food was definately "reused" and at the end between the three of us, we probably had about 6-8 pieces of sushi left over as we either did not like the taste of the leftover pieces or found the appearence lacking. When we went to pay, we also were "told" off for ordering "too much". It was like reliving the previous reviews we had read about but wanted to disbelieve! STAY AWAY. $65 for three people to be reprimanded at the end? No thanks, I'll take my hard earned money somewhere else. You should too!

Aji Sai - Bayview. I cannot believe that the staff members at Aji Sai are rude and get away with it. My husband and I went to Aji Sai for lunch today. The service was terrible, we waited a long time for our drinks and food, the sushi was not fresh and the fried food tasted like they just took it out of a box and fried it. When the waitress went to get take our plates the waitress raised her voice at us and told us that usually she would charge us extra because we left a couple of pieces of sushi on our plates but she isn't going to do that today. She even pointed to the sentence that stated that food that is left will be charged. She was so loud that when the couple in front of us ordered their food, the gentleman kept on saying... "I don't want a lot, just give me a little". We were so turned off at this place that we did not give a tip. As my husband and I went to leave the restaurant a waitress came to us and told us that they do not include a tip in the price and that a tip was customary... we just slammed the door in her face and left. These people are rude! I am going to call head office on Monday and complain about that. I will NOT give a tip for bad service.

Not a lot of variety! Never been to a jap AYCE lunch that does not offer sashimi + shrimp tempura

One of the best all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants for over ten years now. Ā All items are made to order and the staff is friendly and fast with bringing out the meals. Ā However, due to the popularity of this restaurant, it can sometimes be crowded.

There is a very large variety of sushi rolls offered as well as a lot of other Japanese items for those not wanting to go the sushi route but still wanting the AYCE option.

There are a couple of Aji Sais in the Toronto area. I've been to the one on Queen St and it's pretty good but I think the one in Thornhill is even better. If you live North of the city or have a car, it's definitely worth checking out. I've been a couple of times and each time the quality is noticeable. The fish is really fresh, I wouldn't think I would be able to tell but I definitely noticed a difference.Ā

The only downside with Aji Sai is the service isn't great. The servers are friendly but it is really slow. It is really hard to get someone's attention to order, the food comes within a reasonable amount of time but just be aware that it will probably be a long meal. I've gone for lunch and dinner and found that both times it was slow but delicious so worth it once in a while.

The service at Ajisai is very lacklustre and is not something to be praised. However, I would not go to this place for the service. Cheap prices and pretty decent all you can eat sushi is the highlight of Ajisai. If they only decided to hire competent waiters, this place would be a cheap and decent AYCE sushi restaurant. However, regardless of the service, Ajisai attracts a fair amount of customers every time I am there so they must be doing something right

This place is relatively busy at times and service is 50/50. I have experienced great service at times and at other times not so well. They may charge you with leftovers but it depends on who your server is. The food is relatively good and since their upgrade it has been better but may still lack from other sushi places. If you pay with cash they do give a discount! Beware of students during the week at lunch as many skip to have lunch there!

Aji Sai is small-medium sized all-you-can-eat Japanese restaurant with a number of locations. The one I went to was located on the west side of Bayview Avenue, a bit south of Highway 7. Itā€™s located in a small strip mall so thereā€™s parking if you drive. (Actually, if you donā€™t drive itā€™s probably not that easy to get to.)

They serve the typical all-you-can-eat Japanese fare of nigiri sushi, a variety of maki rolls and sashimi. Their prices are in line with most other similar restaurants at $12.99 for lunch and $18.99 for dinner (add $2.00 Friday-Sunday).

The food is fine, but I have to say, sometimes the service is lacking. More often than not you have to wait quite awhile before someone comes to serve you. Itā€™s like pulling teeth with them. Thatā€™s my biggest pet peeve about this place and for that reason I donā€™t know if I can recommend it.
