Review Seoul House Korean Japanese - Thornhill

This has very quickly become one of my favorite Korean BBQ restaurants anywhere. First, the service is wonderful. The servers are incredible fast and efficient. Very polite and attentive and make you feel at home. They bring hot tea to start and give you plenty of time to appreciate the extensive menu. Speaking of which, it may seem a little overwhelming but the menu is actually divided into a few categories. Perusing by category helps to cut down on confusion as the restaurant offers numerous specials and combos ala carte, but also a robust in-table BBQ which offers some of the most delectable meats I've ever had. Personally my favorite is the seasoned premium pork, found in the middle of the menu. It's a little bit more expensive but this well seasoned, soft marbled beef is absolutely delicious. The meal comes with rice as well as a medium bowl of soup to share. Additionally, many side dishes are on offer as well which you can have more of if you're a big boy like me. Side dishes include potatoes in a delicious sauce (TRY them!) as well as shredded radish, kimchi and spicy peanuts just to name a few. We also tried a kimchi pancake which was super delicious... Warm kimchi inside a soft pancake pan fried to crispy golden goodness on the outside. Mmmm. I come here whenever I'm hungry and craving good, hearty Korean food. I would recommend even someone just thinking about it to give it a try. You'll be pleasantly surprised!

Love the service and atmosphere here. Not too noisy or crowded. Good selection of food, a mix of Chinese, Japanese and Korean food. Tasty side dishes and food. The only down side is a bit on the expensive side.

Disappointed by the meal. We ordered the stew for 3 ppl to go. We brought it home to heat up and found some fruit flies and a dishwash scrubber strand in there. Not good value for what you get. It was all cabbage and like 3 very small pieces of meat. We also ordered sariwon frozen stews and compared to them, it was significantly better in taste and quality. I would go to SARIWON if you want take out stews during covid.

Ordered one of their $70 meal kits. Pictured is a small number of dishes that I chose for a single meal. They switch up the meal kits every 2 weeks or so & I tried it for the first time this past weekend. They gave me 2 full bags of food. Amazing deal for the number of meals it provides, where the rest can be stored in the fridge. They also have a $90 meal kit. The one that I ordered included: 돼지불고기 (Flavoured pork- needs to be cooked) 닭떡코치 (Chicken-Rice Spicy Sweet Skewer)- Pictured 탕수육 (Tang soo yook) 짜장면 (Jja jang myun) 맛살냉채 (Veggie Salad with Crab Meat)- Pictured 계란장조림 (Cooked Boiled Eggs in Soy Based Sauce) 김치찌개 (Kimchi Jji-ggae) 해장국 (Hangover soup?) I called their number that appears on Google Map and arranged the pick up time.

My parents ordered take-out off their menu from this restaurant about 30 minutes ago. We ordered a fish dish & a stew/soup but received RAW fish (no, this place isn't a sushi restauarant) and stew/soup we ordered was ice cold - like they keep everything in the freezer and give it out per order. My dad went to pick-up and the round trip was less than 15 minutes so there is no way the soup got cold in the car.

I like the side dishes. I ordered Tangsuyeok with sauce on the side but it came with sauce on top. When i corrected it, i was asked if I could just eat it as it was, of course I said NO. They gave me another one with sauce on the side after, but i couldn't get rid of the unbearable feeling. Understaffed unprofessional. Too bad, I never go back since then.

I really didn't like the food during the whole trip from U.S.A to Canada. They were all SALTY! But Seoul house BBQ absolutely fit my appetite. Not too salty, not too smelly(stinky?), it was the taste that I wanted to feel during this harsh school trip. I recommend "Doenjang-jjigae", and "Galbi" rather than the other menus. The meal is a bit small, so you will need a lot of money to make your belly full of food, but the taste is very satisfying so of you miss the taste of the delicious korean "LA Galbi", it is worth a try^^. Have a delicious meal, and have a nice day.~
