The rating only comes from the food because service is pretty crappy here when the owner is not present like most korean establishments. Just a heads up! They give you a lot of side dishes compared to other korean restaurants and food here is always fresh. If you are taking someone out for korean food I definitely recommend this place. It is modern and clean. The best part is, it is extremely well ventilated!!! They are famous for their korean bbq and it is also really good and you dont wreak after!! So no need to change clothes and wash your hair afterwards! That turns me off the most about all korean bbq restos, but not here.
Had the seafood spicy hot pot medium size, kalbi dinner, green onion pancake appetizer, and the sweet and sour chicken. The free side dishes are good too, mainly the fish cake, kimchi, honey potatoes and peanuts. Kalbi and pancake are highlights.

Real Korean BBQ. Not the kind that serves AYCE meat sauce and your clothes smell for weeks. This place is deadly delicious and wonderful service. A true, authentic place. I hope it never changes!
Let Meat Shine. It's not terribly difficult to slice a bunch of meat, soak it in soy, sugar, sesame, onion, garlic and pear, and throw it on a flaming grill and come out with something tasty. That's Korea barbecue as it's found in most places, and I'm all for it. It's a little bit rarer to find a Korean Barbecue place that lets the meat and not the marinade shine, as they do at Sariwon. The kalbi, in particular, is top notch, as Sariwon butchers in the traditional way by filleting it in layers away from the bone. The meat is tender and a light marinade adds flavour, but keeps the intense beef taste. The grills don't use charcoal like other places, so you might miss the smoky flavour in the food, but I liked not having it on my clothes at the end of the meal. It's all predictably pricey, but at least you can see where the money goes (it's into the meat.)
Return visit. Attended for a banquet function. The upstairs room was large and spacious but pillars were oddly placed. The food was nice and plentiful but I think the BBQ smells were more appetizing than their their prepared foods. Price is a little steep but authentic food. 70%
Other reviews were true- good food soso service. So i went and brought visiting relatives here. based on the review .good food bad service. it was right. good food. not so great service and english is not so good as well, but that's fine.
as long as the food was good. my relatives said the food was good.
it's a bit pricer than I thought. bbq ribs start from 20 to $30. and some dishes were also $2 more than other places. but tons of appetizers and they were good too.
so the bill for 4 people came up to $96 including tax. so that's one tofu soup, one bibimbap, ribs bbq. pork belly, korean pancake ( big size )
I was a bit surprised for the price billed, the meat wasn't that much or so it seemed, so if you are super hungry man and friends, you may need to double up the meat bbq.
as well the servers. were seemingly rude because when you are ordering - the server will tell you you have to order 2 meat dish. :D funny in a way if you think about it as a language thing.
so I won't complain, because the food was good. i knew coming in that the service was bad so I was prepared. ordered fast and got the menu while waiting in line, so plan ahead.
A City In North Korea And A Restaurant In North Of Toronto. E: Sariwon is a restaurant specializing in Korean BBQ for around $20 per person. BBQ is not the only option, but their specialty and the choice of most tables. Each table has a central oven grill.
I first ordered Mandu (Korean pan fried dumplings) and they were exactly what I expected. They were very good. We next proceeded to go for the BBQ for two, which was delivered post-haste unto the table, but not before bowls of complimentary banchan (pickled dishes) like kimchi (spiced cabbage), squids, chives, vegetables, spinach and peppers. The meal itself was nice and tasty. We had pork, beef, peppers and mushrooms. The ribs (galbi) were tender, the boneless beef was easy to chew and we were given a few lettuce wraps for use for dinner as well. The meat and sauces can be eaten by being placed in the wraps. The quantity of meat and vegetables was just right making us full without going overboard.

A: The L-shaped restaurant setting made it look bigger from outside than it really was. The huge sign not directly, but further up, above the restaurant also helps give Sariwon a bigger image.
The tables and booths were all occupied by Koreans, which adds a feeling of authenticity to the proceedings. The restaurant is simply, yet tastefully decorated, although ambiance is provided at such restaurants courtesy of the grills and the customers using them at each table. The tables were nice, booths comfortable and they had actually bothered with some decorations and drapery. A couple of tables were occupied by the staff for their own paperwork and such.

T: We were given prompt service. In fact, the waitress arrived several times at our table before we were even ready to order. Being engrossed in our conversation and amateurs at Korean food we took our time ordering. The waitresses took it upon themselves to be present at our table repeatedly, which was a needed helping hand(s). Parking is busy, but not as bad as some other plazas which also contain a supermarket. Sariwon is only neighboured by small businesses.

S: I found the service kind and patient at Sariwon, but - how typical - the waitresses did not have the best command of English and were limited in their interaction. Having said that, this allows them to mark the non-Korean tables and repeatedly visit to give a helping hand with the barbecuing. I am not sure other tables received as many visits as we did, but the waitresses would visit often to add meat or vegetables to our grill or remove the items left there too long in case they would be overdone or burn. Apparently, we were too slow in eating and it had a cascading effect on picking items off the menu.
Each table has a ring for calling the wait staff to the table as well.
The best Korean BBQ restaurant in T.O.. Coming from a Korean, this is the best Korean BBQ restaurant in T.O. This is where all the Koreans go. It is managed by a Korean man with a long history of running the best Korean restaurant wherever he went (previously at Seoul House at Orfus Road). It targets the Korean community and not "foreigners" so you know the food will be authentic.
A word of caution to non-Koreans though: their service is also Korean - don't expect a four star restaurant service. That's just how it is in Korea when the restaurant is busy. But think of all the free side dishes you're getting!
Good Good Good. Seriously good Korea BBQ for midtown. One of the originals. Check out the BBQ and the Mool Naeng Myun is one of the best around.
Look at the banchan assortment! You can easily just get full from eating this- and its also unlimited too! Bimbimbap My mom’s staple dish. Here’s is the mixing process unfolding. Squish egg. Thoroughly.
Sariwon is where you can go to experience authentic Korean barbeque cooking in a comfortable environment. Located in a retail plaza on the bottom of condo buildings, the location is surprisingly large with tons of tables and several tucked away in separate rooms. Tables are spaced a comfortable distance away from each other so you don’t feel like you’re spying on you’re the cooking skills of your neighbours. Sariwon serves an extensive menu with Korean non-barbeque dishes (pork bone soup, bibimbap, etc.) as well as a couple of pages dedicated to Chinese cuisine. However, you get a sense to stay away from all these as ever
Korean BBQ is loved by everyone and there are so many places in the city that offers the tabletop grilling of the oh-so-popular marinated short ribs. At most of those places I find that, while the food is delicious, the beef lacks quality. That being said, when I want Korean BBQ for beef sirloin, I head to Sariwon Korean BBQ Restaurant ! A lot of restaurants offer kalbi (갈비), which is widely known as beef short ribs that is usually marinated. I love those too, but if you're eating at Sariwon, get the non-marinated fresh boneless ribs . You don't need marinate to be impressed as the quality of the beef will win you over. Non-Marinated Fresh Boneless Ribs (생갈비) - $30.95 per person Check out the marbling... dip these pieces (after being cooked, of course) in the sesame oil/salt/pepper mix or in the Ssamjang Paste - a piece of heaven in your mouth. Lightly Marinated Sirloin (쇠고기 등심 주물럭) - $30.95 per person These sirloin pieces are not marinated with your usual short ribs marinate that
The meal was phenomenal since it is quite rare in Montreal to experience authentic Korean flavor. Usually many menus are Westernized; and, many of those who appreciate Korean food and its culture avoid going to Korean restaurants. It is said that bad Korean restaurants (or any Asian eatery) make you thirsty 2-3 hours after eating because they use MSG a lot. We didn’t feel like drinking water at all like we did after eating a well-known Korean restaurant in K-town, Toronto, last Friday – we finished 1.5 L of a bottled water that night.
For Mother's Day this year, I took the whole family to Sariwon for Korean Barbeque. Unfortunately, they had some sort of special function that day, so a lot of diners were left standing at the door for a long time without anyone to greet us. Because I made reservations, we were seated within 20 minutes or so, but I saw a lot of my fellow diners waiting at the door for a very long time. Not very impressive service... I liked the salad a lot. The dressing had a nice balance of sweet and sour, and it was very refreshing to have before eating all that bbq meat. Various complimentary banchan. Sariwon gives you a lot of variety. I'm still not quite sure what that green stuff on the left is, but it was pretty good.
When in Rome, do as the Romans do. When seeking Korean food, go where the Koreans go! Sariwon is one of those spots uptown for an authentic quality KBBQ experience. Better yet, they now have an impressive patio to offer diners who wish to enjoy the rooftop. Location is just north of Yonge/Steeles where there are many Korean restaurant options.
This family owned restaurant prides itself on top notch quality cuts of meat. After scouring the menu of various Korean cuisine items, we settled on SamGyupSal (sliced pork bellies) & DwaeJi Galbi (marinated pork ribs) as a BBQ meal for 2. The thick pork belly cuts once caramelized went well with lettuce wrap & salty soybean paste sauce. The galbi akin to pork chop came pre-grilled and was an easy chew. Good BBQ starts with good meat.
For our order, a decent spread arrived including Japchae, Nokdu-Muk (mung bean jelly) along with more typical Banchan side dishes & salad. The complimentary Soybean Stew was well-seasoned despite the lack of spiciness. For the hot day, MulNaengMyun (cold beef noodle soup) was refreshing tho I always find buckwheat noodle slippery to chew. We tapped out with our bellies full and leftovers aplenty.
Service was excellent for our patio dining. While we were in the patio, we received frequent checkups, and their insistence to cut & help grill our pork bellies. Wonder if we've been cooking it wrong all these years. Others' gripes seem to be about the higher price point but we thought it was fair for a pleasant dining experience. Hey, whatever floats your boat!
4 stars.
There is a huge parking lot further south but be aware there is no underground parking here
The staff here are super friendly and answer very quickly to the bing bong door bell.
The foods are well marinated and cooked very well.
The baNchan was non ending and constantly topped up
Will come back for more great eats
One of the best Korean restaurants in GTA, in my opinion. Spacious and well kept- we did BBQ and the fan worked so well as there was no lingering BBQ odor afterwards on us. Meat was fresh and well portioned, cold noodles were delicious. Overall, definitely not cheap but all in all, very good value for the money given the quality.

Vaccination required, covid protocols in place
Been coming here for years. The last time I came it was only patio dining due to covid. Now I'm back for a dine in experience.
The food is amazing as always. Service was good. I was surprised to see their rating went down over the year.
Got my usual 2 meat choices BBQ, soju and YukHwae.
There were more side dishes than normal.
I also got a fully loaded soy bean soup.
Amazing food and experience.
Will always be a supporter.

Authentic Korean dishes and BBQ
Great service and food quality.
I've been here for years and due to covid it was my first time to eat at their second level patio which was cute and cozy.
I enjoyed my every visit. The servers were sweet and polite.
Overall I'll always come back.
Please note that some items on the BBQ meat selection does have a minimum 2 order requirement.
Really really good!! Wow everything was tasty, service was fantastic and quick. Meat was well seasoned :) will be back for sure!

This is where I get my spicy braised fish cooked in an authentic Korean way. No matter what is ordered, each delivers authentic and well-prepared taste of Korean without any failures. With a patio setting, it is somewhat difficult to get staffs’ attention for services, however, they are kind and helpful once paid attention. I’m very glad to have this long run restaurant around!
The food and service here are incredible. The facilities were clean and accessible. The grills have plenty of heating power to generate a nice sear. The kimchi is well balanced. The meat is fantastic, but the veggie based sides are also very well prepared.
