Hmmm.. Surprisingly good food. I am not sure of the buffet, but definitely the a la carte was very good. Dal makhni, kadhai paneer, raita, vegetable biryani, onion naan, garlic naan, i must say.. It felt like a great taste of India 😀 good one! Must visit if you're living in the York region in GTA.
Been there several times. Flavourful Indian food. You can ask for some dishes to be mild. Lots of seating and fast service are definitely appreciated.

SWMBO and I decided that Indian food was a suitable choice for our Sunday dinner, so off we went to The Indian Kitchen. While they do feature an AYCE buffet during the week for lunch, in the evening the choices are from their regular menu.
We started by sharing one Appetizer Platter ($8.5; samosas, pakoras and onion bhajiya). Deep fried goodness.
SWMBO chose the Butter Chicken. It was delivered in a metal serving bowl. The chicken itself was nice and tender. The sauce was more flavourful than many places that I have tried.
I had the Nikgiri Korma, which was chicken, simmered in a herb and cilantro flavoured sauce. Also a very good dish. Using the naan and steamed rice that we ordered, we were able to enjoy every last drop of the sauces.
Service was pleasant and efficient.
This is a new restaurant on Yonge Street, I believe it is relocated from close-by area. I happened to visit this restaurant twice and I am happy to write that this is one of the best Indian restaurants in Thornhill area. The lunch buffet is at a reasonable cost which is only 11 bucks; the food and service are excellent. If you want to try some good Indian food... this is the place!!!
Best Indian Food I ever had. Went there for Buffet Lunch once and food was pretty good and really cheap and the naan is to die for. Second time went with a friend for dinner and we were very happy with our food. We ordered Samosas which come 2 per order. It came with two different dipping sauces. They were nice big Samosas with tender veggies inside and tons of spices , very delicious . Their main dishes are not served with rice or naan and are small portions and quite expensive. However those tiny bowls of meat are packed with tender delicious meat and amazing sauce that you just can't stop eating. We ordered garlic naan to go along with our main dishes of mango chicken and butter chicken . Garlic naan came with two pieces cut in two and that was not enough to scoop all that sauce out. We were not offered a refill for the naan and we ordered another order of bread this time plain naan. Again flavours and texture of the bread were perfect and we couldn't stop dipping that naan in the sauces from the chicken. The butter chicken was moist and had a light spicy sauce with onions . And the Mango chicken came with a tangy mango sauce with veggies . The verdict is I would love to go back , expensive and in my opinion worth every penny for the food you get. Service was good and the place was nicely decorated with comfy booths .
This is the best Indian restaurant in the GTA. Period. Much of the same staff and chefs as the former Cuisine of India. Chicken Lababdar, Naan, Alloo Gobi, Rice Pilau, Papadum...all fantastic!!
I eat here a lot, I have my own table. Seriously. I like the predictability, the quality, the staff and (usually) the availability of parking. The buffet has less variety than other restaurants, and there is no attempt to paint each dish in a different color (which I have also seen at other Indian restaurants). The highpoint is the Tandori Chicken, it could be the best in the city, never dried out or underspiced. And the pricing has not changed since Elizabeth took the throne. (more or less). Remember this is a neighbourhood spot, offering good nutritious food at a decent price. Works for me
So I have been here before and I liked their food. That's why where back despite the negative reviews. However, reviews were true. The people running the place have no idea on how to run business. We didn't get the free Dan rotti everybody got. Our order took 45+ min to come (that's a first for an Indian rest) and guess what: mistakes mistakes. However, I have to say. Food was delicious! Some of the best Indian food. They tried hard to correct the order. I would still go again
I would always recommend it as a top spot for delicious Indian food. If you do go, be sure to ask for extra mint chutney that they usually bring with the poppadums, it is outrageously tasty! Looking forward to wherever we end up after the next round of clicks…
