It's a very good option to dine in .It has a great ambience and the food bus really tasty and nice .
We had a great experience here and we look forward to visit again
Great pizza, great pasta! We ordered the #8 diavola and #13 campagniola and found both to be very flavourful. The best part was the Spaghetti Con Polpette (spaghetti with veal meatballs). They serve a very generous portion that was sooo good that before I knew it....it was gone.
I would definitely go back and would recommend the place to others in the area.
I had lunch today at Marcello's Pizzeria (it's next to Vaughan Mills).
I love love love pizza and ordered one with pepperoni and cherry tomatoes. It arrived really quickly. The piizza was delicious. The crust was thin and tasty. There was lots of cheese, the cherry tomatoes exploded when I ate them and the sauce was good.
Lilly was my server and she took good care of me.
I'd go back!
Awesome place. We hit it on our late night sojourn. Exceptional minestrone soup. The pizza primavera was cooked to perfection and was delightful to the taste buds. The server took exceptional care of the guests.
Will definitely go again for some excellent dinner memories 👍🏻
This is probably the best Italian food in the area. Considering that it is a mid range eatery, they do make better food then some upscale Italian restaurants. Everything is always fresh and really big portions. Well priced, have nice patio, great service. They get very busy in the evenings. The only disappointment last visit was tiramisu. 2 years ago they had the best tiramisu, last week it was completely different, like you buy in the store. They should get the old recipe back.
Yummy pizza with plenty of vegetables to accompany a delicious salmon. The staff was pleasant and efficient and it was pretty busy so that was a nice surprise. Highly recommend it and definitely going back.
This place is great. Along with Desserts Plus, Marcello's is one of my go-tos for Italian food in Vaughan. Just about everything, from the pizzas to the pastas, the lamb shank special, and even the fresh-baked bread, is good!
I love marcellos ! Never disappoints . The pesto spaghetti is my fav! Big portions I always have some to snack on at home! Always busy and the service is great!
Came here for a birthday dinner. The services was fast although the place was busy. The grilled calamari were tender and flavorful. I had the grilled chicken dinner which was a huge portion and quite tasty. My hubby had the shrimp linguini which were delicious ( I had a bite) with a light kick of spice. We will come back.
Delicious!. Dined here on a Saturday night and will definitely be coming back! Arrived around 7:45 and was seated immediately, the waiter was helpful in ordering and the food arrived very quickly despite a long line up shortly after we arrived. I had a half order of penne a la vodka and shared a margarita pizza with my friend. Both were delicious! The penne was slightly undercooked to my taste, however I don't like my pasta al dente and much prefer it softer. The delicious sauce made up for this as I found myself swallowing the pasta whole because I just couldn't stop eating.
The pizza was also incredible! I did find the cheese left it a little greasy, but I just blotted it with my napkin to soak some of it up and it was fine. I also prefer my pizza well done, but I forgot to ask for it like this so, just like the pasta being al dente, I cannot complain about it.
Overall, a great meal, I paid $20 for my pizza and half pasta, a ton of food for a more than decent price. The waiter was on his game for most of the night, he seemed to go AWOL for a little but other waiters were paying attention to us while this happened, maybe he was on break?
I would recommend trying out Marcello's to anyone around Vaughan Mills, I am about 20 minutes from there but wouldn't hesitate to make the drive for great food!
Good food, ok service. Got the pizza, based on the good reviews - disappointed by soggy, limp, overly salty pizza. The awesome pasta was the redeeming factor. Will go back.
Great pizza. Great authentic italian pizza. We'll start ordering here all the time.
I really wanted to like this place - Overall, its just okay.. Even though I go near the Vaughan Mills area regularly, I had never tried Marcello's Pizzeria - and quite frankly, with all the buzz around it - I needed to try it.
So one evening, me and my boyfriend go out and decide to go to Marcellos - sort of a spur of the moment decision. The dining room was packed and the ambiance was very lively - but that's expected on a Friday night - and a word to the wise - be sure you get reservations!
However, the food was quite disappointing. Not because the food is terrible or anything - it all just seems a rather bland and boring take on Italian food. It almost seems that they are just looking to turn as many tables as possible in a night rather than authentically provide customer service.
Its not that Marcello's performed poorly in any which way - it just failed to impress. I don't think I will be back, unfortunately.
Authentic pizza and good wine choices. Clean and polite bar service. Overall fun and animated atmosphere. Will go back.
Got there after our excursion to the Halloween special at wonderland. Reviews seems good and around the neighbourhood. The vibe which was more like a canteen was quite different from their other location on St.Clair. Anyway they have a wood burning oven. However, the crust was not charred as it should be, either was there real wood burning flavour. But the toppings were good, the combination of goat cheese, sun dried tomatoes, eggplants and pesto worked well. The grilled calamari was pretty good for such a place, good flavour. The arrancini was ok but not enough risotto. The service was good, she came to ask us a couple times how things were. Told her about the crust, said we should ask for well done as most clients don't like it the proper way ... Ok ... Could be. Overall a decent place. Would return.
Been here twice so far and will go back! The food is authentic and very tasty. Service could be better but it is far from horrible. Grazie in the same area has better service and ambience, but marcellos has better chefs!
So we've been to this place a few times now that I can give this place an honest review. Every visit was greeted with great service and nice staff. Food came fast and tasted great. The ambience is family during day and evening out by night. Great work see you again soon!
Love their food. Calamari is great, pastas are delicious. Their tiramisu is a must have- you can't leave without trying it. Service is fair, I've had a mix of good and mediocre servers, but overall, great experience.
Not bad. If you're looking for simple Italian food this is the place.
Tasty and fresh, just make sure you get there early enough otherwise you won't find a table!
OMG - YUM!. We love it there! My kids are extremely picky when it comes to food, or should I say selective. Between pizza and pasta, my kids are taken care of and I can enjoy my meal. The staff (well, we have our fav's) but all are nice and quite friendly. The arrancini (mini rice balls) - just thinking about them makes me hungry, and their pollo panini - delish! As well as pretty much everything else on the menu. Arrive early tho, they don't reservations on the weekends and the place gets pretty busy.
Pasta is a must.. I feel the price is good. I have always enjoyed the pasta here. Took some friends from work here and they all want to come back. We are from Barrie, Ontario.
Amazing fresh food. My boyfriend and I go to marchello's almost every week now
great affordable food
amazing flavour
friendly helpful and funny staff
nice setting and atmosphere
ONE DOWNSIDE- they dont take reservations.. its first come first serve :(
FOOD:
We had come for dinner on a late Sunday afternoon. For an appetizer, we had decided to settle on the Frittura Di Calamari ($11.95), which was a beautifully decorated dish of calamari with sprigs of lettuce and lemon slices. The calamari was VERY delicious, not too rubbery however, just the perfect consistency, with an abundance of calamari pieces to keep us filled. We were also pleased with the two large bread baskets that came out before our main dishes arrived, complete with butter and a variety of oils (placed on the table) to keep us filled before our main meals arrived.
For our main dishes, I had settled on the Margherita Pizza ($9.95), while my husband had settled on the Linguine Di Mare ($17.95). The others in our party had settled on a variety of meat and fish dishes, salad, pizza, and pasta. I was a tad disappointed with the Margherita Pizza as I had hoped there would be more mozzarella cheese however, I noticed that there wasn’t as much. Also, for my husband’s Linguine Di Mare, he had wanted more shrimp however, he had noticed that there were only a few pieces, with much of the dish consisting of shellfish instead. For my aunt whom had ordered the Vitello Alla Parmigiana ($18.95), she had said that there was a bit too much cheese on it, with only a small piece of veal on the bottom.
Overall, the food itself was quite tasty, with a lot of effort put into making it look and taste good (despite a few small flaws which can be found anywhere). The pizza was thin crust, which was nice to taste as it wasn’t too filling. The pasta dishes were all full to the brim, which made them filling (compared to most restaurants where the pasta dishes are hardly full, leaving you hungry afterwards). Definitely an authentic Italian tasting restaurant, something to try if you like Italian food!
ATMOSPHERE:
We had arrived at this restaurant at 4:00 pm for an early dinner however, we were surprised to see that the restaurant was actually quite busy! We were a party of seven therefore, some of the members of our party were able to get a table for us before we had arrived. The restaurant itself was nicely set-up however, the tables and chairs seemed to be too close together, making it difficult to navigate around each table for the guests and servers.
It was also quite loud, which was understandable considering that there were quite a number of people. Also, upon walking-in, there was a line-up of people waiting to be seated, which was inconvenient as there was no place to stand without being in the way of people walking-in. Overall, this restaurant did exhibit that of a pizzeria, complete with decorations fit for the season.
SERVICE:
Our server came over to our table to ask what we would like to order after a few minutes of us having had sat down. It was loud therefore, it was difficult to hear our server speak at times as she was a bit of a low talker. She was pleasant throughout the entire dinner, even joking with us about forgetting an item that we had packed away to take home. It seemed as though she was quite busy throughout the entire night however, still managed to deliver our items in excellent time, without us having to wait too long.
COST:
Frittura Di Calamari ($11.95) + Margherita Pizza ($9.95) + Penne Alla Vodka ($12.95) + Linguine Di Mare ($17.95) + Vitello Alla Parmigiana ($18.95) + Trota Salmonata Al Cartoccio ($19.95) + Insalata Di Arugula ($11.95) + Pizza Al Pollo ($14.50) = $118.60 + Tax = $134.01
WOULD YOU RETURN?
Most certainly! The food was quite good, it came quickly, and the service was attentive. Would surely come back to try the pasta or maybe even a dessert next time.
No Rez taken makes for a long Sat night wait. Atmosphere is loud. Service is good and fast. Our server was very good. Food was very good. All in all I would go again.
Tasty pizza and a comfortable atmosphere but service seems to decline during their busiest hours, something to be expected though
Excellent food and good service. Went there last night with wife and kid for the first time. Had to wait a few minutes because of the line up. The food was brought quickly and it is really-really good!!! The veal parmigiano that I ordered was beyond my expectations, tender and delicious. The calamari appetizer was fantastic. The pizza is great too. The service was alright. The stuff is friendly and are doing their job fine. It isn't a fancy fine dining restaurant, so don't expect the servers to bow to your feet. Overall a great and affordable Italian restaurant!
Linda from Newmarket. The grilled calamari and the Trout baked in parchment paper to DIE FOR! Never had anything so good before.
The pizza speaks for itself always excellent!
Always busy? Yes but well worth the wait, that' s why it's busy!
Great food. I've been going to Marcello's for years, The food is always consistently great and the prices are fantastic.
Good. Best food for the price
Always busy!. Great place, always busy, nice pizza selection!
Great Pizza. Great Staff whole family loved it!
Always good I always take friends and family there good service good food.
Didn't have to wait for a table and hostess was very accomodating. The service was friendly an curteous despite the speed with which the place filled up(always a good sign). The food however, was not quite up to the rest of the experience. Ordered a simple grilled chicken and while it was flavourful, it was also dry and a bit cheery. I don't think the food is bad there, but I do think one has to be lucky and get the chef on a good day. Definitely will give this restaurant a second chance
Excellent food. Pizza and pasta were excellent. Calimary on the other hand was blah, not much flavour. Caesar salad was also only ok.
Worth the wait. Good food.. Fresh food, authentic, fantastic atmosphere, we love coming here, you could almost see the Godfather somewhere, just almost... It sure has that happy big Italian family vibe. The place is packed all the time, & they do not take reservations. Everything we tried is good, the risottos are always cooked to perfection & so is the pasta, it is never mushy here. The best tiramisu we ever had, I highly recommend it. It is a great family restaurant, in our experience, the male servers are nicer than the female ones. The place is relatively clean and there is ample parking anytime. One negative thing is, they do not split bills AT ALL! So if you come with a big group, be prepared to figure out the bill on your own. And pay with one credit card. Which was a really strange and inconvenient, but we had an accountant amongst us at that time, so that was not too big of a deal, it sure wouldn't stop us from coming back.
Classic, never dissappoints.. Old standy, we drive all the way to Woodbridge, just so we come eat at this Authentic Italian joint. Great fresh food, festive Italian atmosphere, good service, clean restaurant, all the elements for a great dining experience. We have been coming for years, and it has never dissappoint, we tried many items on the menu and they have all been really good. I highly recommend the Fiorellini Fantasia, & the Cozze alla Marinara, it is excellent. This is one of the best Italian restaurants in Toronto. they do not take reservations, and it is always packed. Go early to avoid long lines.
Great atmosphere, Great food!. This place has authentic and great italian food! Generous portions, great price points and great atmosphere. The place had great interior decorations and looked modern. It was also spacious and fit a lot of tables at the same time.. There is also a patio that is covered by a roof so people can enjoy their food inside or outside whether it is raining or not!
The food was great and the quality was amazing. I ordered the Pizza Mia which had a lot of goat cheese, eggplant and chicken on a pesto based pizza. Delicous!
Although my server forgot about my order and i had to wait an extra 10 minutes while everyone else was eating their meals, i was still impressed by the food itself.
Best pizza and pasta around!. Marcello's Pizzeria is a good alternative to home cooked Italian cooking for a great price! As they're pizza is by far the most popular of the public, their other menu items should not be overlooked. Their penne alla vodka is amazing and should be tried!
Amazing food, service and atmosphere! Even if you see that long line up don't walk away they are more often the fastest place to get you seated. Very professional and extremely poliet staff. Met some very great people at this Resturant.
This place is very good, fun and casual place. Always busy.
First review is crap and clearly doesn't know real Italian food considering they have a chef from Italy working there ... Everything on the menu is amazing
A++++. ONE OF THE BEST PIZZA'S IN OR AROUND THE AREA
I am an Italian and very picky with my food and Marcellos pizza is excellent! It is a great place to bring the kids very family friendly and reasonable prices. Not only is the pizza mouth watering but the pasta is very good as well.
Yummy, pizza is wonderful and I love the pasta!
Pizzas are excellent. I prefer their pizzas to Terroni. If you go and you see a big line up don't get worried, their service is excellent and turn over is generally pretty good. The longest I've waited in one of their lines is 15-20 minutes; It's worth every second.
Best pizza ever!. This restaurant is very good and very reasonable for the quality of food you are getting. The only negative is it gets super busy and they do not accept reservations so therefore I would not recommend more than a party of 4 because you won't get in.
But other than that very good TRY IT!
"It's not what you know, it's who you know" Marcello's pizzeria is hands down the best restaurant I've ever been too- not because I haven't been to any fancy restaurants but because the food is simply amazing! Also partially because I'm friends with the owner but the food is truly amazing and it a great atmosphere- both at the St. Clair location and the Vaughan location. Just to add a few more "words of wisdom" to my random quote above - "Its not what you know, it's who you know. But who you know is interested in what you know."
Craving Marcello's... the best wood oven pizza in the area...thin crust and light and oh so yummy
Wood oven pizza destination. Quattro stagione is my favourite choice here (come to think of it, it usually is anywhere, but I digress)....waiters are friendly and service is prompt.
They have a patio which is great in the summertime, but the restaurant is quite large with many tables as well.
Popular with singles, couples and families.
They have daily specials as well - pizza, pasta and mains.
Not a huge wine list but covers the basics.
This week we took the celebrations to Marcello’s in Vaughn. We got there around 7pm and the place was packed! We had to wait 1/2 hour to be seated, but the waiters were nice and I can see that they were doing their best to get people seated as soon as possible. The wine list wasn’t long nor impressive. We picked a random Riesling from the list and went with it. It was odd that they had the option of ordering a litre of wine Well, I’ve never ordered a litre of wine at a restaurant before, so that’s exactly what I did. I ordered the litre. I’ve been here before, and was thoroughly impressed by their grilled calamari. Olive oil, with a bit of pesto sauce and balsamic dressing. We also ordered a platter of antipasto to share. Grilled veggies, olives, meat, cheese over a bed of greens. Perfect for sharing ove
While it was yummy, I was expecting more. I’ve heard a lot of good things about them and I may have set the bar really high in my mind. If you’re reading this because you’re thinking of grabbing a bite here, please do. The staff is friendly and the food comes out pipping hot!
Marcello’s Pizzeria has long been a favourite in Toronto, and over the last few years, Marcello’s Vaughan has become just as famous. Marcello’s is a family friendly pizzeria that serves up many great traditional Italian dishes. For starters, they have a selection of soup and salads, and of course delicious seafood apps like their famous fried calamari that is great for sharing. Marcello’s serves up an assortment of sandwiches as well, they have a simple prosciutto sandwich, and eggplant sandwich and two grilled meat sandwiches, one of the chicken and the other of the veal variety.
Where Marcello’s has made their name is in the pizza and pasta business. They serve some of the most popular wood fired pizzas in town, and a pasta selection that will satisfy anybodies palette. They have over twenty choices for their wood burning oven pizzas, from the traditional margherita to the fan favourite Quattro Staggioni! Most of their pizza choices can also be made into a panzorotti as well. Marcello’s also features a few entree choices if you are looking for some seafood or grilled meats. So come on by and see why Marcello’s is one of the most popular places in town, and remember to come early to get a seat!
This is the go-to authentic pizza spot in Vaughan. Looks small from the outside but beautifully decorated interior and spacious to seat plenty. Do not hesitate to go here as the food and service are great. Never regret eating here.
Try the Mozzafiato Pizza. A great blend of contrasting flavours and fresh ingredients. Go check it out!
Delicious Italian spot!! I got the rigatoni fantasia which was super delicious, and tried some of the margarita pizza which was so so good. I also bought a jar of their sauce to take home which I used to make my own pasta!
Very good! We ordered for appetizers Muscles in a marinara sauce served with garlic bread. They were Delicious! Sauce tasted fresh. And was a great portion to share.
We ordered 2 pizzas Terra was delicious
Calabrese a very good as well.
Service was attentive and friendly. We were there not at busy time it was 3:30 pm .
Our table went to Marcello's on a recommendation. So glad we tried it! Service was top notch and the mussels were to die for. We also had a pizza, fried calamari and minestrone soup. All so good and great fresh ingredients! We will be back!
I passed by this restaurant all the time, didn’t know it has a cute patio in the back. It was a good experience, server was kind and nice. Overall food was good but the bread was really cold hard. Reasonable price for pizza and pasta (and some italian beers).
Still the best cozze and tiramisu in town after so many years! Delicious authentic fresh pasta and filling portions. Consistent and reliably for great Italian food.
There’s nothing like a big bowl of creamy + saucy pasta and Marcello’s does it so well 😮💨🤌
The fettucine alfonzo is an upgraded alfredo with extra garlic, juicy chicken, and some greens to make you feel healthy 😎 The sauce was a little watery but usually it’s good!
The tortellone was filled with creamy cheese in a rosé sauce - I only got to try one but it was so good - wish I had a full bowl!
The pizza bianca is our fave go to pizza with prosciutto and balsamic glaze and ofc tons of fior de latte cheese, not something you can get at Domino’s!!
The cappricciosa pizza was on the sweeter side too with prosciutto and sweet sundried tomatoes - I think I would have liked the tomatoes in smaller chunks though! They were a bit raisin-y and rly overwhelmed everything if you got a bite with a big chunk
And ofc a classic american pizza - a bit under when we went but usually the pepperoni is nice and crispy, curled up into a pepperoni bowl - always hits the spot 🥰
The apps are also sooooo good - please don’t skip out!! We always get the calamari (light and crispy) and the mussels (fresh, clean, and garlicky and tomatoey!!) - we always take the leftover sauce from the mussels home and make another batch with them because that’s how good it is
Heads up they dont do resos on fri and sat because it’s super busy, the wait can be an hour long during prime dinner time so plan accordingly 🙏
Great place with lots of options for pizzas, pastas and entrees. Their pastas are all delicious and the tiramisu is super creamy. They have a good selection of wines and other drinks as well. Great customer service and clean restaurant.
