Review The Olive Tree - Sydney

They know how to build the perfect pizza!! It was one of the best I’ve tried locally. Service quick. Noticed an outside dining area for the summer too. Great spot downtown for food with friends or just stopping for a quick slice!! Yum!!

I must write a review. After asking a friend about a good tasting pizza. We were told to try this establishment. Spot on, thin crust and any toppings, holds excellent. Not limp or under done. We were so impressed. Being from Toronto we had our share of places. This establishment by far is the top for us. As we don't live in Sydney, we plan around ordering several versions and bring them home to freeze after a good meal. If your looking for a good slice or full pizza(s) I suggest this place. There length in business says it all.

They have great food here. And the restaurant itself is very nice and cozy.

Call about 90-mins ago and asked for a medium veggie...they said 30-mins max...no pizza ahead...give yourself 2-hrs or call elsewhere.

This was the grossest "pizza" I ever tasted. The crust was flavorless, burnt, and super thin. There were hardly any toppings and what was on there also had no taste. Fifty percent of the slice was crust. The pizza sauce tasted like iron. Outrageously priced. It felt like eating cardboard. Yikes.

Have been enjoying Napoli for decades. Tonight I was sadly disappointed! Spent close to $80 for 3 pizzas for a family get together. Combination (their flagship pizza) was soggy. In fact toppings slid off the crust into a blob for a few slices. The crust was soggy and very little sauce on the pie. There was a ton of raw pepperoni under a pile of cheese. The flavour of anise seemed to be absent. The cheese pizza was much the same. Hopefully this was just an off night, but it's going to be a while before I drop that kind of money at Napoli.

Paid $40 for a $21 pizza because they charged an extra $10 for the privilege of me paying with debit and an additional "open food" charge. Absolute joke. I'm from out of town so I asked a couple of locals what an open food charge was and they had no idea either. I guess this is how they introduce themselves to new customers from out of town. Thanks guys but I won't be ordering from you guys ever again considering you charged 50% more for the "ok I guess" pizza.

My family ordered pizza from here while on vacation. Pizza was fresh and tasty. The crust and sauce were also tasty. It’s not the best pizza I’ve ever had, but overall no complaints whatsoever.

We were recommended by family to try this restaurant. We just moved here from Ontario and we were looking for a nice restaurant. We totally loved this place. The atmosphere when you walk in is so nice. The smells are amazing. The food is by far one of the best places I have ever been. The flavors in the foods are out of this world. Our waitress was so nice and the waiter who seated us was so friendly and funny. We will definitely go back and highly recommend this place. By the way it was lunch time and the restaurant was packed and there was hardly a wait. Excellent place.

If I could, I'd give you 10 stars! This little gem is a wonderful place to dine for several reasons. The food and service is amazing.....top drawer and second to none! The real treat is Gerard.....he makes a great lunch or dinner an experience! He's genuine, funny, loves what he does and it shows. I love good food but I love being treated like family and entertained even more! Gerard....never stop what you do! :)

I've been to The Olive Tree many times over the last couple of years, but there was something about last night that is making me write this. With a party of four, we arrived a little before 7 with no reservation. The restaurant was bustling and every table was full, kind of amazing for a Monday evening in Sydney. We waited 2-3 minutes while our table was cleared. We all had water, wine and bread for the table within minutes and were informed of the evenings dinner special. Our server was attentive, happy, and seemed like he really loved being there and you could tell the other patrons were just as happy and pleased with their service as well. Our appetizer of a literal flaming cheese dish was amazing, and the four of us ate every bite of our mains. I've noticed the menu change a few times, but I think the current menu is diverse but simple. Perfect even. Thank you Olive Tree! We will be back for sure.

My husband and I had supper here this evening and it was an experience like no other. The restaurant is so beautifully decorated and it really felt like we weren’t even in Sydney anymore. The food was out of this world, the service was amazing, and the dessert was top notch! We were so impressed! So many vegan options as well which is rare around here. Thank you for the amazing supper and we can’t wait to be back!

I never give reviews but this time is a must , My daughter and i ate there last night the food was awesome, but my praise goes the the gentleman that waited on us , he was polite , funny and for him alone i will return ....thanks for making our supper a pleasure..we were there feb,22 2018...if only there were more waiters/waitress like him...:)

Absolutely the best donair sammie I've ever had. The waiter was great and personable. Very cute atmosphere! Highly recommend to everyone!

Have eaten here a number of times now..never disappointed!!..food is awesome..staff are always friendly and excellent..the atmosphere is great..two thumbs up to the cooking staff..I have been a cook for twenty five yrs and the freshness of the food and care that goes into each dish is what makes it soo enjoyable..highly recommended!!

Had a great night out with my girl friends the food was delicious as usual ..BUT was really disappointed the chef took the best thing off the menu the deep fried cheese cake � please bring it back .. thanks for the laughs had a great night

Always a wonderful experience! Great food, comfortable atmosphere and friendly service. They have a wide variety of choices on the menu and we haven't been disappointed with any items that we have tried yet. My favourite place to eat in town!

We visit Sydney about every two years and we always stop at the Olive Tree to have a delicious dinner. We decided to stop in as it was opening at 11 am and was delighted to find they served breakfast all day. I have never tasted food so amazing and the service outstanding as usual. We actual went back that evening for dinner to find it full and a 30 min wait but we did not mind waiting for food like that ... once again you have tantalized our taste buds !!! Thank you �

My husband and I just had supper at the Olive Tree. The food was great as usual and the waiter Gerard is the best he really looks after your every need. The atmosphere in the restaurant is amazing making you feel comfortable as soon as you walk in the door.we have never had a bad meal here proud that you are in Sydney � thank you

The Olive Tree is "our" favourite restaurant ... nothing compares to it ... it's a jem to be discovered by all who want excellent tasting food !!! The atmosphere is perfect, the staff so very very friendly, and the food ... absolutely delicious. We have tried so many dishes and each has a unique taste, if I could go more then once a week, I'd be there. We have been going for years and it has always been the same quality of excellence !!! Congratulations to the "best " comfortable restaurant we have discovered that keeps us wanting more !!!

The olive tree is my favourite place to eat in Sydney. I have had, breakfast, lunch and supper there, all amazing .. never disappoints !
