Review Gulberg Restaurant - Surrey

Stumbled onto this restaurant through online food ordering platform and decided to give it a try. The price is very reasonable. Butter chicken cost less than $10! Granted it is smaller portion but still enough for two meals. The grill platter is good portion. Wished it came with rice instead of the fries which became soggy with the meat on top. Nothing spectacular about the food taste but an ok place to grab cheap, quick bite especially after finishing class at the nearby college.

Rotten old oily meat in beef Donair wrap. Buyer beware. On July 20, 2022, I ordered one beef donair wrap and one piece fried chicken in person for pick-up. Within a few bites of the donair, I realized that I was eating something strange. It tasted like some kind of pan fried oily beef, and it was definetely not donair meat. The meat was incredibly hard to chew and it was not fresh, the meat was definitely a few days old, and it was possibly rotten. Also, the meat was too oily and had way too much cumin. The sauce they used also smelled strange. I had to open the wrap to see what I was eating as the meat was of very poor quality. I ended up tossing the wrap, and I had to fix myself something else to eat. I was very displeased with the quality. For those of you ordering donairs or wrapped items, they no longer have a front make table counter where you see them make it, they make it in the back kitchen so you will not see what meat goes in your wrap. This is highly bizarre as donairs are always made in front of the customer. Just look at my picture and you know the meat is not donair meat. They also don't ask what toppings you want which is bizarre as you should be able to remove a topping. I had to ask the girl at the counter where my donair was, and she told me it was being prepared in the back. She also mentioned subsitutions or changes are allowed! What if i don't want onions? I think the restaurant has changed in ownership or management as the taste and quality has declined over the years. My family and I stopped eating there as we had too many issues in the past few years. Cold food, missing items, poor quality butter chicken, and very long wait times even if you pre-ordered. Lastly, I already emailed the owner and requested a refund for my donair, but I have not heard back in a few days. The lack of communication is indicative of poor customer service. Save your money and go somewhere else. Surrey has plenty of restaurants that cater to halal cuisine and you can order from them.

We ordered the breakfast boxes and the food was gone bad and was old. The kids already ate their food before the adults. When the adults opened the box it smelled and right away we put it away. After the kids were complaining about stomach pain. I decided to bring the food and drive all the way back. They said we will only refund 2 plates because the other 2 were eaten. I told these poor people to keep there money and that I will never eat here again. As I was standing, their was another person right beside me complaining about hair in his food. So you can really see the quality and customer service speak for itself. Absolutely disgusting!!!!!!

We were searching for authentic hand slaughtered Zabiha Halal food options in the Metro Vancouver area and this restaurant was recommended by some locals. Note: this is in Surrey and definitely not Persian or Mediterranean cuisine This is Pakistani style cuisine....average quality, but seems to be quite popular and busy. Generally Google Maps takes you to the other side of the restaurant....they have more parking available on the far side. We tried Chicken Reshmi Kabab ...good Chicken Biryani ...below average but I compared it to real authentic Hyderabadi Biryani Fried fish pakoras.....good Chana Bhatura...below average Crispy fried chicken ....actually good Goat Karahi...average Burgers....average

The food is amazing! especially the Bihari Kabab. but the portion is very little and it's good enough for kids only. otherwise, the rest shall deserve 5 stars.

Amazing staff, great atmosphere and excellent food! The owner was extremely nice and gave such amazing service! Would definitely recommend this place!

I ordered 2 Philly cheesesteak sandwiches one with onion and one with no onion. The one that had the onions was absolutely disgusting and the onions with completely burned and charred and so bitter. it was inedible until I had to scrape out every last bit of burnt onion.

When i first order something from the store the chickine tikka and the Naan were so warm and they tasted very good, the price was not that expensive. Please dont close the store, you guys make the best foods i ever tasted in my life
