Review Ilukjo - Surrey

This review may not be as fair since I visited on Mother's Day when they were busiest. The staff did a good job trying to replenish the buffet items as fast as possible but the food ran out just as fast - people must be super hungry that day! Food quality was okay. The sushi are mostly rolls - more like different renditions of California rolls some with different sauces or wrap with different ingredients. You have to order the sashimi or nigiri sushi separately. The tuna and salmon are fresh. The kitchen food isn't bad, mostly deep-fried variety - chicken, gyoza, fish, and veggie. They also have Korean bulgogi. I probably will visit again on a quieter day when one doesn't have to fight for food 😁

$17.00/ person. Bang for your buck place. Salmon nigiri was fresh and everything was good.

We came right at the start of dinner time, 4:30 and everything was hot and ready. Sushi was good, and there was lots of selection of hot food. Ingredients could have been more fresh for the sushi. Shrimp Tempura was weird tasting, maybe frozen? Over all service was great, clean and organized. People working there are super nice as well. Thank you!

Very small All you can eat buffet restaurant. Came here for lunch. L shaped self serve buffet bar. Nigiri sushi need to order separately. If you want an authentic Japanese restaurant this is NOT the place to go. The sushi rolls and nigiri are not made right. If you are looking for a quick lunch, then this place has enough selections to fill a hungry stomach. I'm pretty impressed with the covid procedures, maybe the environmentalists would hate it but they got disposable gloves for patrons to grab tongs, must use new gloves everytime. However, the dishes and sauce plates are not cleaned properly. You can still see bits and pieces of food residue.

I came here with my parents. We all like it. There are not so many all you can eat restaurants survive in the lower mainland, and our experience was definitely great. There were not so many choices but each dish is well cooked and delicious, especially their sushi. Those sushi were mostly made by valuable sashimi, not cheap cucumbers. By $17 you can try many different types of sushi and Korean/Japanese. I understand some comments mentioned about the empty trays. There was only one person serving everyone and the serving was not that fast. Fortunately, there were not so many people in the restaurant so that was not a problem.

Went here for the dinner buffer but experienced extremely slow service. Very slow to reload the self serve buffet food. Menu on the website is not even accurate. They advertise that the dinner menu includes shrimp tempura but the didnt have any. There were lots of items on the website menu that weren't available on the buffet.

FALSE ADVERTISING!!!! None of those photos are on menu!!! They advertise as all you can eat, but all you can eat literally is nothing. Less than 6-8 options of basic sushi and bbq is already cooked beef and pork. The other thing is their sushi that is raw sits out all day which is not sanitary and you will get food poisoning from it. Sorry but this is my honest review they should not be opened for business in my opinion! I give a star for their friendly and inviting hostess.

We were super excited to go to this restaurant during COVID-19. We had been there a few years ago and it really has changed. They completely renovated the restaurant. There was a great selection of food to choose from and a few items we were able to order from the kitchen. There were a lot more items to choose from on the previous menu they did on the new menu, they didn’t even have salmon, tuna or cucumber rolls. The sushi was fresh and delicious 😋 We look forward to going back again soon!

Food tasted great. Sucks that there is no sashimi included for ayce lunch. Also with the meat it’s only pork for lunch as well. No beef and chicken.

Returned to this place for father's day 2018 after maybe three years and there was definitely a change. The food was great and the lady who serviced us was extremely nice. Maybe it does not deserve 5 stars but I think it needs to bump up a bit since 2.2 it has is very unfavourable to what it is now as of June 2018. I can say that is much better than before and it is worth visiting again.<br/>I like most everything only the special rolls have a sauce with a hint of wasabi or something similar which nobody liked; for the yam tempura they could use other type of sweet potato (or yam) but those were the few bad points; on the other side the salmon for the sushi though small it was very good, almost buttery and the beef teriyaki was loved by everyone.I will definitely return. Worth giving it a try again.

Really good sushi! Cali rolls slightly dry, but everything else is very good!Service is awesome - even the cooks came out of the kitchen to see if we got everything or needed anything else. Definitely will be going here often!

Please, please, please. Find another place - my mother got food poisoning after eating here. Not worth the stomach ache and vomiting. On top of that, the service doesn't make anything better. Go to Guildford and find another Korean barbecue restaurant!

Best for large group. Don't know what people are complaining about!! this place is amazing good service good food like some of the people said good price for an all you can eat that has sushi and BBQ can not find that any where!!

I've been to this place maybe a handful of times for the AYCE. There hasn't been a single time where they haven't messed up our order. One time they kept bringing us plates that were for the table right next to us.<br/>Once our KBBQ came frozen. Yes frozen. It was terrible. <br/><br/>Their sushi and everything else is eatable, but don't expect any of their food to blow your mind.<br/>Come here if you're really hungry and don't mind bad service.

Why is this place still allowed to serve food? Seriously!?! They have repeatedly tried to pass off rotten fish in food! Amazingly, if you even attempt to complain, they still want you to pay for it without hesitation. Seriously!?! Read these reviews, heed the warnings! Sadly, if you are reading this review it is probably 4 am and you have been up all night sick after eating here.

Have gotten food poisoned from this place 3 times each time I was being forced into going with some friends. Food Quality & Service is terrible. Never going back. Stay clear of this place they cut corners with their food and will serve you rotten food claiming it's still good to eat.

Always pleased with this place. Lots of variety and always fresh! The dinner all you can eat is a great value and it includes pop and dessert.

The soup we received had bits of mould in it and was in a dirty bowl; neither the owner nor our waitress were surprised or interested. <br/><br/>Don't give this place a chance, they used to be poor-ok, but now are going to make someone sick or dead.

I went to this restaurant, and they offer all you can eat. The order was not accurate. Getting our orders took forever. worse motoyaki i've tasted. They serve the expensive ones very slow, but getting the bill was fast. Never again.....worse korean japanese restaurant in surrey.....

Used to be good. Don't know what happened. The tuna sashimi was not well-prepared. It tasted weird and when I bit it, I couldn't feel my teeth cause it was cold, like it just being taken out from the freezer. Won't be back!

This place used to be pretty decent but now it's not so great! I went here recently and it took forever for our waitress to get to us and give us our orders. We were disappointed with the food too. Seems as though this place has new owners than before. Won't be back!

TERRIBLE....Never have we had this bad of service in my life. Ordered all you can eat for My wife and I and decided that our 10 and 11 year old girls were not going to eat the 20 dollars they were being charged as adults so therefore they could order off the menu. Fine so we had to move from the booth to a table so they could watch over us since obviously we couldn't be trusted O.o.... So now comes placing our orders, ordered the kids food and sent in our all you can eat order slip. Kids got there rolls and we waited, half finished their food the waitress brings us a few things off our order slip. Just before we were about to taste our food they waitress comes out and tells us we all had to have all you can eat..... Makes sense since they already started bringing our food!!!!That was it, told the kids to not touch what they haven't eaten yet and finish what they started. Paid for the two rolls they ate and pops, couldn't have left any quicker. RUN DO NOT EAT HERE!!

Not bad for all you can eat. The sushi is good but the barbecue is just ok. Good for large groups and lunch is really cheap as well. Service is just ok.

This place used to be 100% better now it's sucks! I don't even know how their still in business. Their food and service is worse, it's more expensive. You can't even get a servers attention there. I had to ask like 10 different servers for things and they take forever they are like sloths no joke! Don't come here I won't never recommend this place to anyone!

WOW! Not only is the service super slow, we can hardly get the server's attention the whole night, I don't understand how this place is still in business! I highly recommend NOT eating here. The only server that seems to have it together is the male server and I am not talking about the man behind the computer. Small portion sizes the sashimi was ok but then again we are by the ocean so the taste of the fresh fish speaks for itself!!! So basically- DO NOT EAT HERE- they suck!

Bad Service. So so food. Worst service ever. I was asking the waitress a question and she walked away halfway through a sentence. It took her almost 20 mins to come back to take the order. We then waited almost another 20 mins for the food to start to arrive and half of what we ordered didn't even come at all. She brought us a plate of raw meat to be cooked at the table and put the grill on the table next to us unlit and didn't come back to light it. She never even came back to refill the drinks even after asking for more.The rolls and food that did come was nothing better than we could have gotten at a mall food court. The kimchi was bland and not traditional and the spicy sauce was simply hot sauce squirted in a line on top of the food. Not worth the $21 per person. Won't be back

Worst restaurant. Since the owner (chinese man) can't speak in english well i have to asked the waitress to suggest great menu for 6pax. So here it goes: the man came in the situation and tell the waitress to go and quick since it's a busy afternoon. He asked what's the problem in a calm tone then suggest some in the menu by pointing with his finger. so we gave him the orders and wait for almost 15mins. Then i went to ask the waitress to update the orders only to find out out that the man (owner) forgot about us. So we wait for another 5mins before the foods to be served. The foods are not fresh, cold, and the grill is very dirty including the tables. They put sauce in the grill and taste yucky. We ended up paying 17.99 each for a yucky foods. Go try to believe it. And one more they are not good to their employees.

Dirty tables, refused to supply ayce. I have been here many times and often they will not have toro available but last time they had it and then refused to give me anymore 1/2 way thru dinner. I refused to pay the full price and paid 1/2 the bill. The owner said not to come back i told him "dont worry". I have always put up with the dirty conditions of the table and grill but no more, if the tables are that bad i wonder what the kitchen looks like?

Great Food. The service here is really a Hit and Miss. Some days it's GREAT!!! Other days, it's a wonder they're still in business. However, I've been many times to this restaurant, and the food(when ordered in smaller quantities) always makes it to my table. When they're really, really busy...sometimes we get other peoples orders. Sorry about that. haha<br/><br/>I do like coming here. I just wish that they had a little more respect for their patrons. As that would make more frequent guests. But, on those good days, the experience is always exceptional. I understand being busy, but I'm pretty sure you can read an order sheet. Really. haha <br/><br/>So, in conclusion...I would say it's a Hit and Miss really. Great FOOD, service could be improved. Thanks!

Your one stop for AYCE in Surrey. I've come here on occasions for my fill of all you can eat. However, a bit has changed, and not for the better. The surf clam is no longer on the menu, and instead of using the actual squid tentacles for the Ika Karrage, they use some sort of generic 'squid tubes'. Sashimi portions are extremely small, in comparison to the maki sushi.<br/><br/>Service is so-so. Sometimes the server is friendly, and other times I'll get the 'cold' treatment. Understaffed at times. They really need to renovate the restaurant. Looks so run down.<br/><br/>Food wise, I noticed that the sashimi (tuna) had a hint of ice in it. Otherwise, the food is well presented and does taste great. You really have to know what you're ordering, so don't be disappointed when you receive it and don't like the texture, taste, or smell.<br/><br/>Overall, if you're in Surrey and looking for an AYCE sushi place, for now this is the place to go to. Please note that they are only open till 10 PM on weekdays, except Friday (which is till 11 PM). They should really keep it open till 11 PM every day. Might get more customers coming in, or even staying in longer to order more food. ;)

Service was not really great. Waitresses were not rude, but they seemed really hesitant and in a rush ( it was not busy the time i was there)<br/><br/>Food is mediocre- not gross but not super fantastic. There are some small dishes I highly appreciated but not enough to like the restaurant as a whole. I left this place bloated, at leasy

Went here for ayce. Service is very slow... It took 20-30mins for every round of food. Left hungry. They truly make u wait so long that you,ll leave. Ayce? All u can wait more like it. N we rang the buzzer plenty timmes. PS what resto has a buzzer rather than small takeout places? To think u need a buzzer for service? That's how bad the service is.

Great All You Can Eat!!. First time here loved it!!<br/>Great selection, had the deluxe lunch which included the drinks for $16<br/>Definitely going back again!!! I loved their rolls!!

I made an account just to write this review. My friend and I arrived just at 9 for the all you can eat aspect. Shortly after ordering, and getting our food, the server came by to say that it was last call. Sign on the door says the restaurant closes at 12. If the food had been appetizing then I would have cared, but fortunately I could not eat anything that was given to me. The miso soup was so incredibly salty that I could only take a few sips before my mouth went dry. The edamame was soggy and unsalted. The oyster motoyaki was burnt and crunchy. The imitation crab had a yellow tint to it and smelled bad. And best of all, the tuna sashimi arrived dark red with what looked like mould. I uploaded a picture to prove how disgusting it was. As soon as I saw the tuna, my stomach turned and I couldn't eat anymore. I was sort of disappointed the tuna didn't arrive first because then I would have saved myself from trying all the terrible food. Never would I ever come here again. Just thinking about the tuna sashimi now makes me want to vomit.

I came here with 5 hungry desi's when we walked it smelled really good. We got the all you can eat. At first the lady came and got us our food real fast. After the 4 th round she started to look a little nervous. At one point she came by and tried to hand us our bill, but were were still hungry, after the 7th round they tried to ignore us and took forever to come to our table, the concept of the place is pretty cool, you get to cook your own food. I would definately go back again if theyd let me back in. When we left they looked happy and releived.

Horrible Experience. First time we went here the restaurant was dirty with bad service. The only saving grace was the Korean BBQ included in the all you can eat menu so we thought we'd give it a second chance.<br/><br/>Second time around was worse; the prawn in the dynamite roll was full of excrement, the yam tempura roll, spring rolls, gyoza, tofu, tonkatsu, and karaage were all cold and soggy, the salmon sashimi was brown and tough on the edges, and there was at least a half hour wait between ordering and delivery. The place was filthy, as there were pieces of old food and sauce in the BBQ controls and on the walls and table. The dishes weren't even very clean. I would not recommend this to my worst enemy.<br/><br/>On a positive note, the staff was nice and the manager didn't charge us full price since we were unable to finish the meal.

Worst service ever.. We gave this place three chances,we`re done. Wow, everytime we`ve tried this place it`s been a complete joke in trying to get the waitresses to come to the table,they have buzzers and that didnt even work,we had to get up from our booth and go to the desk to get service this last time. 3 times we had to order the same dish that never came,and had other items not show as well .Three times they brought us another tables food and the quality is mediocre at the best. Snotty as well,it`s your job dont act like it`s an inconvienience to get a drink for your table ,your in the hospitality business try a smile every once in a while. I went to the restroom and no toilet paper in the stall and no paper towels for your hands after washing them in a sink so rusty its rusted right through. Not a cent for a tip and NEVER to return. Don`t waste your time or your money.

Went here for the ayce dinner. Wasn't impressed. The switch for Our "BBQ" in the middle of the table was filthy. The portions were very small and they didnt inform us until the end of the meal that the little button on the wall calls for assistance. Food was blah for taste as well. Most likely wont be going back.

Went there for an early dinner/late lunch, and even though there was practically no one there, the service was very slow and it took us a long time to get our food. The rice proportion on the sushi is way greater than the filling. Many items that we order never came even when we asked and reordered. Will not be returning if I had a choice.

Okay. For all-you-can-out Korean BBQ and Sushi, the price is not too bad. However, the quality of the food isn't that great; the sashimi was not thawed out properly, there were still chunks of ice in it. The fried tofu also has a really weird texture to it that's not normal. I went on a very busy night, but they still served the food pretty fast. Overall, it was an okay experience but I probably wouldn't be back considering there are higher quality foods elsewhere.

It sucks. Seriously, don't go there. if you absolutely have to, don't go for the all-you-can-eat menu. the regular menu is better. if you go for all-you-can-eat, they will care about you a LOT less.

Customer service was horrible. Restaurant not busy but server was no where to be found. Have to ask for basic stuff such as cutlery. Food was average and mistake was made on order, some food ordered never came. The built in buzze in each booth worked but after buzzing a few times die to lack of service, manager got frustrated and turned it off. Worse experience so far.

Ok...I really don't have much to say about this restaurant except..."thank you for the experience, we will not come back!" I don't even know what words to use to describe how bad it is.
