Review Lucky Horse Restaurant - Surrey

I would like to give them 0 star if I can . I order fried chicken noodles. And they served not fully cooked. You can see in the picture ….clearly uncooked noodles. When I called to complain and the girl was there didn’t seem to care . I told her I will leave a bad review, but she don’t care . So please don’t waste your money and time in this restaurant. Place was dirty too. The WORST Chinese food I have ever had .

Came here years ago and it was good! Ordered in tonight for the 1st time and wasn’t disappointed. Well cooked, fresh and a lot better than other options near by I have tried. Best wonton soup to! Also took the photo when I was done eating lol they’re servings are bigger.

Very happy to say, I enjoyed a great lunch with my mother today. First time at Lucky Horse in person, long time Uber eats customer. I need to let people know it’s a 10/10 delivered but in store truly hot and fresh really takes it to another level. Also had an opportunity to have a great conversation with the owner Ray and just like the food he serves he was amazing!!!

They messed up my order for the last time. I ordered one single box of sweet and sour pork and one single box of almond chicken. And what do they do? They bring me 1 combo box with chow Mein and rice with only 4 pieces of almond chicken and one other combo box with chicken chow mein and rice with only a little bit of sweet and sour pork. And they charged me extra as well. I highly recommend to anyone not to eat or order from these rude people. They obviously like screwing up orders and charging extra. If I could, I’d give them minus 10 stars.

Gross disgusting reheated food! Spoiled food! Not worth feeding your dog's! Do yourself a huge favor! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE instead take a trip to superstore, buy the ingredients and make yourselves a tasty home cooked DIY Chinese meal! LUCKY HORSE CHINESE RESTAURANT IS DISGUSTING! So many items on the menu with very affordable prices. Location is hidden and was only brought here by chance when we were looking for a place to eat. Food are tasty and delicious. The washroom are well kept and clean even though it is old. Parking is spacious and free. Friendly and welcoming auntie serving you with a smile and very good dining service everytime. Will come again to try other dished.

I got no sauses and no spring rolls when I asked for some... They gave me more noodles then anything else

Love the dinner for one combos. The breaded almond chicken is really good and not greasy like some places. They also use actual crushed almonds and not peanuts. I always recommend Lucky Horse to anyone looking for Chinese food in the newton area.

We’ve lived near this place for years, and just tonight ordered takeout for the first time. <br/>PRO- the food all tasted very fresh, and not at all greasy. Also, it was a quiet night and we got our food in 25 minutes!<br/>CON- not a crazy amount of flavour. I’m not one to add salt to my food, but I found I had to. The sweet & sour pork was a tad over cooked, which made it a little tough. Also, there was a big nasty chunk of octopus in the war wonton soup. <br/>We’ll eat here again for sure!

So, I live a little outside the area where they deliver, and they were kind enough to deliver to me anyway. I have to admit, not my favourite Chinese food. I think the most disappointing was the chow mien. It wasn't offensive in any way, but it tasted like absolutely nothing. No sauce, no salt, nothing. Just noodles and chicken. To their credit, nothing was unpleasant to taste, and only the sweet & sour sauce was kind of weird. It was a very deep red, like blood. If you're looking to avoid food colouring, may be best to avoid that sauce. The wonton soup, however, was amazing. Maybe one of the best I've had. The wontons themselves were textbook, but the broth was outstanding. Everything else was kinda meh, which is much better than a lot around here. I wouldn't tell anybody to go here, but I wouldn't tell anybody not to go here either.

This place never disppoints when I go there. The food is always fresh and I never have a problem. I went their recently and normally only order take out but decided this time to eat in and it was delicious. My party ordered deep friend wontons, chicken fried rice and the vegetarian combo. It was all astoundingly fresh, not greasy or over seasoned and it was honestly the best chinese food I have had in a long time. Service was really friendly and quick and even though we were seated in the back of the restaurant we were not ignored.

Very average food, quite bland and not very fresh. Too oily and not enough actual flavor. There are many better places for Chinese food, so I would not recommend

The people that answer the phone they do try from my impressions, but the kitchen does what they do ): I tend to customize my meals but they can never get it right

I ordered there for the second time. First time was great. Second time was awesome. Ordered boneless dry ribs, Szechuan chicken, Singapore noodles, deep fried prawns, and wonton soup, and almond chicken..all was delicious!! Delivery was about 1.5 hrs tho but was worth the wait. Every other place doesn't deliver on sundays till 4 or 5....so it was nice to have hang over Chinese :)<br/>

Would recommend.. Ordered from here last night for the first time, had never even heard of the place. Ordered the dinner for 3, wor wonton, and with that it came with free wonton. Was just over $40. They told me it would be an hour and twenty minutes and it came in fifty which was great. The food was hot, non gressy and full of flavour. Will be ordering from here again for sure!

DOG FOOD. Simply would not feed it to my dog, very gross...save your stomach and your money ...

Bland and indifferent. Ordered chicken fried rice , shrimp chow mein, honey garlic spare ribs, and beef and broccoli. Rice was too dry and some hard pieces clogged in my throat. The shrimp chow mein was luke warm, tasteless, and soggy. The spare ribs were okay - crisp and meaty. The broccoli was very salty and on the oily/slippery side. To be generous I would say the food was mediocre. There are many places in Surrey with far better Chinese food. My partner, who is not a Chinese food fan, no longer has confidence in my choice of restaurant. I doubt if I will return.

Wouldn't order from Lucky Horse ever again after about 20 years of patronage. Lucky Horse is a local restaurant from which we have ordered take out for many years. When we brought our order home tonight, we were surprised to note that one dish was missing. We also noticed that 4 of the 8 dishes we ordered were now in much smaller containers than we had in the past. We called the restaurant to ask for our missing dish to be delivered and were told that it was crossed off on their copy so we had to have it? When we asked about the smaller portions we received, we were told they had always been this way and we should have ordered their "dinner" combination to get the larger sizes. And the worst part of the call was the fact the "boss" kept telling us to get off the phone because they were too busy to deal with our concerns. They did deliver the missing dish but the whole experience ruined our dinner and caused Lucky Horse to lose our business for good.

I'll never ever order from there again I spent $87.00 and the food taste like it's been sitting out and re-heated..to bad I read the review and expect good Chinese food..I can cook better Chinese food very disappointed!!

What once was good is less than decent. I've been ordering from these guys for a long time as a patron and at this point they'll never see another dime of my money. Normally they're food was good but over the last 4 months they've implemented changes to they're quality I've received burnt chow mein, cold greasy wonton not to mention the watered down wtf! Garlic pork without Any garlic finally after numerous bad deliveries I called to complain and they had the gall to argue with me and sent a driver to exchange my food just to argue again lol I pointed out in plain site bunt food and the douche insisted it was the way they did it....(never have I had that burnt nor should it be ). All I can say is restaurants like these need to be taught food is a art form and a service ! If you find the same black list them and maybe the lack of dollars will teach them to bring back they're quality.

Not a horse I'd bet on. Delivery took an hour when I'm only a few blocks away. It was barely warm when it arrived, which was disappointing. The beef and broccoli was basic, cooked well but lacking in flavour. The chicken balls weren't greasy which was awesome and they were tasty. The sweet and sour pineapple sauce was nice with big chunks of pineapple in it which looked cool but otherwise did not have an overbearing pineapple taste. The pork fried rice was tasty and not at all greasy. The bbq pork was awful very rubbery and chewy and nasty. Overall the food was okay but not amazing.

Food is bland.will not order from here again. Food was cold upon arrival. Service was good.

Decent Chinese food in the Newton area. Nothing special, great for late night chinese. I do love their chicken wing appetizer though. Best thing I've ordered from their menu.

Very Americanized Chinese food. Tastewise is not bad for what it is. Oily tho...but I would get takeout from here again someday in the far off future. (minus the chow mein-it was really bad). Love the little mom and pop shop feel it has

This is the first time I've ordered from this restaurant and it will be my last. Before placing my order I asked if they do credit or debit on deliveries. They agreed and everything was all good. On arrival they found that there debit machine didn't work. I only had $20 cash as that's why I wanted to pay with one of my cards. This didn't work for them because the bill was $28 Insteado of just leaving the food and admitting it was there fault they told me to go to an atm or come in to pay. This was not okay with me so they gave me the option of giving my credit card over the phone - which is the first thing you learn to to do. Regardless they decided to take the food back with them. The part that bothers me is that instead of taking the $20 they took the food back which means they will probably be reselling this food to another customer to make up for it. The saving grace is that I didn't have to eat the food because I'm sure I would have been sick.

Definitely one of the better choices for chinese food in surrey!!!. Well I ordered from Lucky Horse tonight mainly after reading Sherman's review , we had the almond chicken, deep fried prawns, beef chop suey, and vegatable chow mein... everything was fresh light and very flavourful ... even my very picky toddler cleaned his plate. I had my order delivered and everything arrived as ordered and hot .. the driver was very courteous.
