Review Rickshaw Chinese Food Whalley - Surrey

I hadn't ordered for a few years but I ordered 2 dinners for 1 this week described as "small portions". These meals are huge and will probably make for at least 4 meals! I was also pleasantly surprised that everything has a lot less grease and just tastes healthier because of it. They also advertise as using no MSG which is a bonus! I deducted one star because I'm not sure what spice is used in the spring rolls but I don't like it.

Let me just say I never write reviews on take out but felt compelled to write one this time. I have never in my life had worse Chinese food. After seeing a decent rating on Skip I decided to place an order, it came to about $57. I decided before I placed my order to google the restaurant. They offered free delivery, so I thought, hey why not order directly from them, save on delivery and they don't have to pay a portion to Skip. Called in to place my order. When my order arrived I was surprised it was $8 more than my exact order on Skip and I was charged a $3 delivery fee on top. I ordered lemon chicken, shrimp chow mein and shrimp fried rice. The lemon chicken is so dry and overcooked and the breading on it made me feel like I was eating a fried pork chop. I only had one bite before I ended up feeding it to my dogs. The chow mien and rice are so bland and flavourless. I had to cover it in soy sauce just to be able to get a few bites in. I felt sick eating it, so just decided to toss it. What a waste. Don't order here - I promise, you will regret it as much as I do.

Pretty good food at decent prices. I remember eating here as a kid back in the '80s. This place has been around forever. They moved from a large building across the street to a smaller one but the food's the same. There are better Chinese restaurants around but the prices are much higher. We alternate between getting less food at the expensive place and a lot more food at this place depending on our mood. The delivery area is HUGE. They deliver anywhere in Surrey from Cloverdale to Delta. The food is really tasty but once in awhile you get a bad batch. It's hit or miss, that's why I deducted one star.

Great portions, and tasty food. But please don't accept more orders if you're already overwhelmed with too many orders, or if it's too late for deliveries. I've waited for an hour and half for my order now Edit: I would like to add that I'm only a 10 minute drive from this restaurant, idk why it's taking so long to deliver

We moved to the area and were seeking out good honest Chinese food at affordable.prices and this does not disappoint. It's unusual to find a great place from.the first visit but this place did that for us and it is our go to for Chinese food we consider ourselves lucky to have found this place so we can always have consistently reliable affordable tasty Chinese food delivery thanks so much!

If I could give it a zero I would. They are very rude. Screws up orders. Will never order there again. This place has gone down hills with the new people running it. Written after response. What a lame response. No accountability for their mistake. Read the online order correctly. It wasn't complicated. No vegetables in one combo not both. Never did issue asking special request.when ordering online or over phone with previous owners

My absolute favorite place to order on skip the dishes. 5 item combo cant be beat for value and taste! Ive giggled while reading the reviews and responses by the owner. If he ever decides to leave the kitchen perhaps comedy can be his or her next business venture 🤣 Haters gonna hate but it wont stop me from enjoying my fave dishes. Cheers! We ordered (4) sode orders which we thought were going to be small, when they arrived they were overflowing! I haven't had Chinese food in a while since the lockdown so we decided to take a chance. Food was tasty and arrived warm through Uber Eats. We had utensils and sauces added to the bag. Restaurant was friendly and easy to deal with for a quick change on an item too!
