Review The Sushi Bar - Surrey

Ive been here quite a bit ( i actually am a sushi fanatic) anyhow I usually take take out so i can not comment on the particular atmosphere for sit in but my experience with them regardless has been great. The staff is kind, and you can watch your sushi be made (never a long wait, the chef is very skilled) the sushi always tastes great. The prices are good, especially the deal 2 for 5$ California only for take out though. The menu is diverse and portions are reasonably sized. Small place but very comforting atmosphere.

Was the place to go for awesome sushi at a great price. quality is suffering as time goes on. still order from here now and again but not nearly as much as did. Edit, Gave this place another change.... sadly things have not changed for the better. My take out order was not correct, and its very evident that the spicy tuna old. does not taste fresh at all.. Its sad, this place was a gem when it first opened, not anymore unfortunately. time to look for another place for sushi.

They have a great lunch menu special (2 rolls plus miso) for $6.95 and they have a better roll choice than combos at other restaurants. The sushi is not the best that I've had, but for takeout for lunch it does the trick. I wouldn't recommend eating in as it's pretty bare bones.

I love going there ever school day! I usually order take-out but sometimes I like eating there, when I'm not on a rush. It's close to the bus station and their service speed is decent. Also, it's a really small place and makes me feel welcome.

I will never eat there again. $30 for one person... and half of it was inedible. the tuna was rotten.. the prawns were rotten. the avocado was brown. the special sauce (mayo)... was rotten. absolutely disgusting.. even the stuff that wasn't rotten was barely edible.

We went there couple of times, prices are decent but the service is terrible. We had placed an order that she had messed up and argued to blame it on us. Then we were trying to place another order, she asked the chef “ Do you want to make more?”The lady was very RUDE and did not know how to handle the situation. NEVER COMING BACK!

This used to be our fave place. We were there 1-3x per week.. No more!! It's gone WAY downhill. Lunch today was disgusting, ice cold tempura no crab in Dynamite roll, when brought it to their attention was told I was lying. Will NOT be returning.

I love all food. This place is one of my top favourites. Great food, great service, and decent prices. A must-try for sushi lovers!

Super good and fresh, my wife has always loved their tuna tataki and crunch roll. Myself, I love it all, good service, very friendly and decent price for the quality they deliver. Highly recommend them.

Great bento box price quality. Good service by mgmt as they made some changes to accommodate me. Fresh and made to order so fast. The tempura was awesome.

Love this place for a quick sushi bite. my favourites are the alaska roll and the normal salmon avocado rolls. They also serve the sauce on the side on the agedashi tofu which was a nice touch. Nothing fancy about this place but it's good and cheap!

Oil that the tempura was deep fried in was off, beef teriyaki was mostly onions and the California roll tasted like the ones from 7-11.<br/>I won't go here again

I live quite close to this restaurant so I often find myself wandering over here for dinner, mostly just because I'm too lazy to go any further. So far I've yet to have a bad experience here. I've tried a few different things,my favorites being beef teriaki,California cone,gyoza and a few others. (I'm pretty basic in my choices) customer service is just Ok,I always get take out. Food's good so that's all I care about!

I have been to a lot of sushi restaurants before and this place is by far the WORST place I've ever been to. The lady that took my order was straight up rude on the phone and that's not all. The sushi chef was even worst! This guy is the most unfriendly sushi chef I've ever met in my life. I came inside their restuarant to pick up my order and went straight to the front to see if my order was ready and he replied back with a "IT'S NOT READY YET!" with no please take a seat it will be ready in a few minutes. I have never been inside a sushi Restuarant that had such a unfriendly, uninviting place in my life! This place is by far the worst I've ever been to. I suggest you don't waste your time/money coming to this place because you're just gonna get disappointed. I sure did! This place will be my first and last!

Worst food and bad service. I've been there for almost 3 month. But I will never go this place again becuz last Thursday I went there with my gf and we ordered california rolls and prawn tempura and other sushi rolls. I can tell the avocado in sushi rolls were all black and rotten, and the prawn tempura were nearly cold. I called the waitress and simply asked for exchanged. She hemmed and hawed and walked away from us. I got so upset about her attitude and will never go to this restaurant any more. I do NOT recommend anyone go this restaurant as their food might cooked overnight and serve you the other day. Thumbs DOWN!

The sushi bar. Located in the same plaza as safeway just south of 72nd ave & 138 st intersection.<br/>the good:<br/>-rice for sushi was soft and fresh<br/>-their online menu made ordering simple<br/>the bad:<br/>-rice for sushi was too sweet and there was just too much of it in every roll<br/>-sushi was poorly made, comparable to sui sha yah ayce<br/>-teriyaki was bland and the beef was dry and crumbly<br/>-yakisoba was also bland and the noodles were overcooked and lacking elasticity<br/>-the person who took our order over the phone was not friendly in a borderline rude kinda way<br/>not recommended :-(

Take Out. I have had lunch take out...Lunch specials are very good. some of there other menu items are a little pricey, but will worth a try.

A-mazing!. I ordered a party tray from them for a potluck party that I was attending. Everyone was raving about how great the sushi tasted. It was the first thing that was gone! I will go again for sure.
