Finally got to try this place!!! And it did not disappoint, it is the best African restaurant I've ever tried. I ordered the beef stew with jollof rice and added the plantains. I loved how they had different flavors to balance the heat of the beef stew and jollof rice. The plantains were sweet and nutty and the creamy coleslaw really helped with the heat. I will come back next time to try their other dishes.

The flavours and food is absolutely delicious! First time here and will definitely be back. Intended to try the fufu, but it requires 30 mins prep, so I got the rice, beans and chicken - and it was so good! I will be calling ahead next time so I can try more. The friendliness and generosity of the people inside makes one feel instantly welcome. I ended up here given some recommendations and being told it's the most authentic African cuisine, and the customers inside confirmed it all. Yum!

My first time trying out West African food and boyyyyy was I blown away. My tastebuds took me on a trip from the parking lot of Surrey to a table in Nigeria. The chicken was super tender and flavourful—a smokey jerk with a touch of sweetness. The best and only Jollof rice I’ve ever had had a slather of this thick gravy-like hot sauce which was 🤤👌🏼. Perfect amount of heat. No worries if it’s too spicy though, cool it down with some of the coleslaw. Can’t quite put my finger on where I have had this coleslaw before but I definitely ain’t complaining. Already planning my next trip to try out the baked tilapia that was staring me down as I was waiting for my order to be put together. Along with some of their other menu items, I will definitely be back again and again and again!

Appearances can be deceiving. This charmingly delicious restaurant does not look like much from the outside… or the inside for that matter. But if you can brave a seedy part of town (park your car across the street at the grocery store) you will be treated to the best West African food you will ever eat in this province. I give my daughter Ava full credit for finding this place after being inspired watching fufu videos on Tik Tok. The fried plantains are nicely caramelized with a sweet but substantive flavour. They did not hold back the spice on the baked tilapia and I appreciated their daring old school cooking. The jerk-honey chicken adds a nice flavour profile to the traditional Jamaican style. And of course, the fufu with egushi, spinach and goat was a big hit. I recommend you attend in person your first time rather than doing a delivery service. While the restaurant is only take out, the staff are warm, friendly and give helpful advice. And, you might find something else to buy like their seafood hot sauce. Taste of Africa delivers on its name and may be the best alternative to going to Africa.

Awesome. Chicken was superb. I got the honey jerk chicken with jollof rice. Chicken came baked with the skin on and was really fantastic. The lady who took my order asked me if I like spicy food which was really sweet of her and I liked cause she made the rice super spicy and flavorful which I was a big fan of. Would definitely go again
