Review Vera's Burger Shack - Surrey

Really enjoyed tonight’s takeout burgers from Vera’s! You can really taste the difference. Super thick patties paired with all the usual suspects, plus super soft buns! You can’t go wrong with any of their burgers. This location has lots of parking and seating. Fairly friendly service when I visited. Haven’t tried to dine in here yet, but will do so next time!

Excellent experience eating old fashioned burgers, perfect fries, fresh ingredients, friendly staff and servers, very convenient location

This place is so great! Their veggie burger is great for vegetarians and everything comes with tons of great toppings. Their beef burgers are amazing too. The ingredients are good quality and the burger special of the day is a really good deal, it comes with pop and fries. The service is always quick, friendly and knowledgeable and in all the times I’ve been in, I’ve had only positive experiences with the staff and my order has never been made wrong.

Changing review. Had the special today and got food poisoning ☹️ —— Consistent. Excellent burger and they are very generous with the fries.

We have had takeaway twice from here, burger are good but to pricey to make this a regular place. $80.00 for two burgers and fries and an order of Chicken strips with fries. Oh and only 2 chicken strips in the order, but they loaded us up on Chipotle sauce. Maybe next time we will try eating in that way we could make them aware of the shortage on chicken strips.

Their beef burgers are a 10/10. Their chicken burgers are a 10/10 (best chicken burgers around). Their fries are like. 6/10. Not crispy enough. A bit bland. But let's be honest you're here for the burgers and they knock those burgers out of the park.

I like there burgers there, and sadly that it had a change of new management. I enjoyed eatting there with there new burgers for the Summer time to come. It is sometimes is a bit dead in the restaurant on the weekends with the cov-19 on and off in the air, but nice there very relaxing atmosphere there but very pricy to buy lunch there. I come once a week on the weekends or there special of the day there. Great food there to eat from a long day of life, work, family etc.

This is one of the few places that I know that hasn't shrunk in portion size. These burgers aren't the tastiest, they're a bit too doughy in my opinion but they are really juicy and it's great for convenience and comfort.

Truly the most filthy place I have been in - each and every surface was covered in grease and who knows what else. We were going to cancel our order but the kids were starving so we decided to sit down. Big mistake. I don't think the oil that they make the fries or onion rings has ever been changed. My husbands burger was freezer burnt and I couldn't even stomach more than few bites of the veggie burger. We all were sick in the evening from consuming this horrific attempt at food. NEVER again.

My husband and I had dinner at this location January 22, 2016. The staff seemed a little confused and bored. The food was average and our order was mixed up I requested my burger to be cooked to Vera's slightly pink style and my husband requested well done. He was mortified when he bit into my pink burger. The establishment was extremely greasy and dirty. The washroom were filthy the toilets were pink and black on the inside they had clearly never been clean. The was wee covered in some kind of splatter and the hallway was filled with garbage. We will not be returning to this location and prefer our Clayton Heights location. Very disappointing.

Has Vera's grown too bug to review? Well I've never been so here goes. Nothing special tk report just bug burgers with an assortment of toppings. Would rather spend my money at a food truck or something less generic and boring.

I had the BBQ burger and it was amazing! The fries were also top notch. It was $15 for a combo which included the fries and a drink, but it was so worth it!

Excellent place for a great burger! The food here is great, the fries were crispy and the burgers were hellaaaaaaaaaaa juicy. Awesome little place! The service was great and not to mention they have unlimited refills for their soda. The owner of the place was super friendly and I felt at home.

Disappointing and dirty. Recently moved to Vancouver and loved the Vera's we originally tried in cloverdale. We ate at this one last night and it was awful..the bun was stale and every table in the restaurant was covered in left overs from previous customers. We had to throw out the left overs just to make room for ourselves. Bad.

Never again. We decided to give this location a second try and were again disappointed. Not one of our four meals were worth going back for. My spicy chicken had three very thin overcooked non-spicy super dry strips and a tiny dab of chipotle mayo. This was by far the poorest attempt i have ever had.

For reference sake, i enjoy a red robin teriakki chicken, a wendys spicy chicken, a sammy J peppers Jerk Chicken, Carl JR Jalepeno Jack

Turkey burgher. $10.00, tiny, not worth it!

What used to be a good burger. I went into Vera's today and was expecting a good burger. What I got was a frozen dried patty on this seed bun which was not good and the overall flavor was bland. For the price of the burger I could have went to red robin or heck even a&w for a better one. With my burger I had the pub style onion rings and they were terrible and you could tell they were frozen, not fresh and over fried. I ordered my son the Chicken fingers and they came with no fries WTF they did before and the guy said sorry there was a menu change but would you like a apple juice no I dont but some fries would be better. I didn't finish my meal and spoke to the gentleman at the till of my experience and he just stood there not wanting to offer anything or try to make my experience better, he looked clueless. The food quality has gone down and I won't go back

Sweet potato fries. I ordered the sweet potato fries..they were over cooked, bland & I didn't recieve a dip with it. Not worth the 6 dollars..worst I've had.

The Hot Wings with the Vera Sauce is My Favorite. These are just the drumettes and the are not breaded so those looking to have wheat free will be very happy

Don't go there!. I don't know what to say except both burgers were absolutely awful, small, tasteless, dry, bad texture, unsavory seasoning, cheese wasn't even melted, wierd bun, lame condiments and we'll never return! Same experience at Vera's in Gastown. Burger Heaven is still the best burger around. Even DQ Brazier is better then Vera's.

Great Atmosphere. An excellent interior design with a modern look to it, with 3 big screen tvs for us to enjoy on game nights or even highlights of sports during the day.
This location has a very large seating area so you, your friends or even whole familys can enjoy together in the comfortable seats with wacky cow designs.
First impressions well it looks nice and welcoming, so lets try it out. And when u enter you are greeted nicely with a more laid back casual feel , which feels nice, not pressure and normally the workers try to find you the best deals they have on that day.
One thing that is bad is menu placement but you get used to it quick, they have a wide variety of types of burgers, you would never think some of these would be burgers but u can pretty much have anything you want on your burger here.
Ive heard lots people complain about prices while they order, but if people think about it meals only about 12$ with a bottomless pop, huge ammount of fries kind of too many but will definately fill you up, and on top of that you get a huge 6 ounce patty thats like bigger then a big mac but in one patty so you can imagine how much juicier it would be then thin frozen patties from other resturants.
All the burgers are actually made in the store i was shocked to find out , everything is made on a day to day bases with fresh un frozen meat. So im confused why many people think they are getting ripped off, you can get a 12 $ fresh meal that fills you up, or 10 $ meal with alot less stuff that most likely make you need to order a 2nd meal anyways. Not only that but you can top your burger with anything ud like lots of veggies and condiments to choose from. Other places kind of just give you something with whatever it comes with, which isnt bad but if your looking for choice this is where you'll be in shock to what you can stick on your burger, you can experiment making all sorts of crazy burgers.
Its definately a nice warming welcoming feel to it , almost like your having a big bbq party, chit chatting away with entertainment for you tv, and music.
All I can say is its a must try because you do get your moneys worth compared to most places, with all the choices you want. You will definately enjoy an excellent juicy burger with large fries and bottomless pop .

Best Burger In Town. Everything my family and I ate was fresh. I dont understand why people think its overpriced. Most food services are the same price and you dont get as many fries and other side orders than veras. the burgers were fresh and my wife is very picky eater so its a good thing you can choose your own toppings. The atmosphere was awesome and great service. I come here often and they always keep my satisfied

Best in Vancouver, eh?.. not in Surrey. I had a craving for a burger and wanted to try Vera's. it was just OK because it was a salt-fest. I ordered a bacon cheese burger with just ketchup and Vera's Sauce... Sadly, I don't believe that a garlic sauce has any business being on a burger.

If they made scratch gravy for the fries and reduced salt by 80%... got rid of the garlic mayo on the burger - I would go back any day!

Meh.. Tried out this new place, looked interesting as it is voted Vancouver's best burger. Maybe it was the hype, but it didn't live up to expectations. Wasn't bad, but wasn't great either. $26 for two burgers and a large onion ring side to share (no drinks/fries). I'll take White Spot anyday. Nice interior, interesting concept, but the food was nothing to write home about.
Vancouver's Best Burger
Well, it's a regular burger joint. Other than the fact that you can get a brew with your burg, there is nothing fancy, nothing that makes it stand out. The burger took about 20 minutes and there were 3 TV's playing the big 3 sports channels. Other than that, not much to write home about.
