Review Grandt Kitchen - Surrey

Eddie Lee
If you're craving or wanting to try authentic Filipino cuisine in Surrey, definitely have a hearty meal at Grandt Kitchen. To be very honest I forget the names of the dishes but maybe other local guides can help name the photos. I will say one was a marinated pork dish that was just perfect with some potatoes that soaked up the flavor. And the soup was very unique as it was an enjoyable sour tangy and meaty taste that went down vert well. Enjoy!

Tried Grandt Kitchen for the first time. Customer service is okay but can be improved. We ordered some food items similar to the other group that came after we were seated but for some reason, they keep getting their orders first before us even if we placed our orders before them. We had to follow up with the server to remind them of our orders. The price of the food items is reasonable but I have seen better portions for the same price. The food was okay, didn’t particularly tasted any different or special from other Filipino Restaurants. The washrooms are kept clean. There is always a music playing. Location has parking for customers. The halo-halo was the only food item that exceeded our expectations for the serving portion. It can feed up to 6 people. But because of its size, it didn’t taste as good as expected. Although it was not a superextra ordinary experience for the first time, I will probably come back for a second try.

Always good tasting and fresh Filipino food. My wife loves this restaurant. It is our favorite Filipino restaurant in Vancouver.

Service was a bit disorganized but the food generally was good! Crispy Pata was great and halo halo was good. Fried chicken skin tasted rancid and stale! Found the prices a bit high for the portions!

First time trying this place and its super delicious! The bbq pork skewers and fried chicken are my absolute favourite so far. I ordered the GK regular platter and fried chicken through uber eats and everything was packaged nicely in a big tray and still hot! Excited to try more off their menu!

Showed up for dinner on a complete whim on Saturday, Oct. 30/21 Pleasantly surprised they had live band music & they were great! The group that need night sang & performed (well) a good mix of modern & classic rock. I would have stayed longer if the resto opened later. If you’re looking for a boodle fight / kamayan style dinner - this is a wonderful place to go. It was just the 2 of us, so our GK Regular platter was perfect! A fantastic mix of de-li-cious Filipino style grilled squid, BBQ Pork Skewers, fried tilapia, mango salad, grilled eggplant, fried chicken that includes a large bucket of rice. LOVED the Buko Pandan Royale, as the roasted rice sprinkle was a tasty crunchy salty surprise with the sweet coconut pandan jelly, tapioca balls mix. We’re definitely coming back here again for this legit Filipino food place. Staff was great as well, being very hospitable and friendly. My only ‘complaint’ is that they should be open later than 8pm on a Friday and Saturday night.

Food is really tasty and delicious and fresh. They also have karaoke evenings Friday nights and on Saturdays they welcome live band anyone who can play instruments can join playing and or sing and they welcome you to the stage. My favourite is the Filipino desert called Halo Halo which is a tropical fruit icy dessert ….It is truly authentic and delicious I recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy Filipino dishes. Bing and Alex are the owners and they are great people and very welcoming.

Grandt Kitchen serves delectable Filipino cuisine that locals should try. They brought what Filipinos eat to the country, and I'm proud to have people representing our food culture. Filipino migrants could also try it if they missed eating it and want to share nostalgic moments with their families.

I had a great experience at Grandt Kitchen. The service was great and the woman helping us with our order was so enthusiastic! The portion is pretty good. You get a good variety of meat and vegetables, though I wish there was a non seafood option (a lot of us weren't big fans of muscles and fish). You get a bit of a taster of everything, and it can really fill you up. I believe you can always request more rice and dried garlic as well. To top it off, they came out with a slice of birthday cake for our friend when they found out! What a lovely treat! Would definitely recommend it again and will be back for more.

If you're looking for great food, go here! This is, by far, the best pinoy restaurant in BC. I come from Vancouver and the drive all the way to Surrey is so worth it! The food and the "kamayan" experience--there's nowhere like it in the area. 🖒🖒
