Review Anjali's Dosa Garden - Surrey

This restaurant was literally empty on Sunday Afternoon. We were the first 1 to enter. We ordered chicken masala dosa which was okay, could be more roasted, cheese dosa for kids which was actually cheese melted on plain dosa it was great, masala rava dosa which was not that great as the potato was little to gravy and very much felt liked boiled. In terms of pricing it was fine we paid 32 plus tip and around 38 CAD. Female washroom is clean and maintained :-)

Excellent food. If you are looking for excellent South Indian food this is the place. Have been here twice and each time the food and service has been excellent. I would recommend anyone to this place for great food in a heartbeat. Love it.

Food is average. Cheap comparatively. Poor customer service. Green leave shape plates that they serve are not stable. Those keeps rotating by itself. Some items on the menu are also not available and requested to pre order hours before dine in. May be good for take out.

Good dosa, but the idlyi was dry seemed reheated, the sambar was ok, and the vada was moist and crispy. Nothing outstanding

We went on a Sunday lunchtime hopeing for great tasting food. But unfortunately that was not the case the food was average, and my son's had a big hair his lamb dose, which was nasty, put me off my food. As for hygiene all the signs are there dusty floor uncleaned tables and spider webs on the ceiling, and thats in the front, hate to even think whats going on in the back.

Huge improvement needed Chicken Masala Dosa - Sambhar was ok ok, Green chutney is expected to be the signature of Dosa but it is not even average, red chutney not a good combination with Chicken Dosa, Dosa Yes crispy but taste missing. Cheese Dosa - thought this is the simple one and safe but no luck here, absolutely waste of money. Masala Tea - Ilaichi was there in Chicken masala but not in the Chai. Just Avoid.

If you’re a foodie than doesn’t matter the ambiance or interior of the place. Food is great compare to other South Indian restaurants ( Dosa Places ) in Surrey . Food comes always in timely manner and portion is good too.

The decor in this restaurant needs to be updated, especially the wall paper. The service was pretty bad with really poor communication. We ordered our meals and our Waitress waited until she brought out the one meal to tell us that they did not have any spinach left for my meal. So I had to peruse the menu again and order. When my partner had finished his butter chicken that's when my dosa finally came to the table. I had also ordered a Masala Chai when we placed our initial order so I could have it with my meal and it came out after my dosa arrived. Even after saying all of that I will most DEFINITELY eat here again. The food is sooooo delicious and authentic! 👌🏼 The prices are reasonable. I highly recommend.

Tried their chana masala and paratha. They were really delicious and feels like home. Portions are small, so you expect the prices to be low. Tried their idly vada, I got a feeling of home food. Not a place if you care about ambience.
Yes. We,re Eating Again.
Our visit to Tandoori Flame a few weeks ago while exciting, was somewhat disappointing in the dosa department. While many Indian dishes lend themselves to buffet style dining, dosa must definitely come to you straight off the grill and that's what we got at Anjali's Dosa Garden in Newton. Located in a somewhat industrial and not so pretty strip mall just off King George. It is a no nonsense place, not nearly as lavish as Tandoori Flame but neither was my wallet so significantly lightened. We started with their Idli Vada Combo which came with the usual red and coconut chutnies and sambar (a lentil based soup/stew). The vada was hot out of the fryer and along with pillowy idli both were perfect vehicles for the rich coconut and spicy sides.Next was the main event. We tried the Mysore Masala Dosa which was filled with a wonderful potato and spice mixture. I am not really an expert on the different types of dosa but this one was squared off and had onion in the batter making it a little more rustic than some dosa that we have had. It did not disappoint and was rich and comforting on this rainy afternoon.  Lamb Biryani was our third plate. This is a wonderful dish and too be honest, I have had it at several South Indian restaurants and it is always amazing! Just a perfectly conceived recipe (Well at least it is to me! If you don't like rice or lamb, you might be less enthusiastic). We also ordered Podi Oothappam to go (mostly because I did not know what it was). It turned out to be a lovely pillowy bread with a not too spicy tomato herb paste topping. Very nice! Not too fancy but friendly enough. Our server was a little run off her feet but did pretty well on keeping up. Don't be afraid to try something different! There is more out there than sushi and tacos and bubble tea (don't get me wrong. we love that stuff). This place we enthusiastically recommend!
