Review Cotto Al Mare - Surrey

Nice spot for when you feeling like some Italian food. Makes it better when it's really nice out in the afternoon/evening. Their calamari appy was very enjoyable to eat. Soft calamari with a nice and light batter. Only thing I would add is more red onions and I'm a happy duck. Sauce added a tangy flavour as well, very much liked. Had the salmon as well. The veggies were all pretty good, broccollini had a nice crunch. Salmon was a little overcooked on the fish side but, the skin was perfectly crunchy. Staff was very attentive and friendly as well.

Great location. Our orders (pasta) taste good and the price is fair at this location. The seafood is fresh. The size of the appetizer is a bit small. But taste is still good though.

We love Crescent Beach and we’ve been wanting to eat here. Finally we were able to try this awesome place for our Sunday lunch. I made reservations so they had the best table in the house ready. Right by the window on the second floor is the best table in the house. We also ordered Burata, several pastas, prawns and their Carne pizza. Everything was yummy, the service was superb and the ambience was the best. One of my faves restos now and we will definitely be back!! 😊

Our server, actually most staff we interacted with were friendly and welcoming. Service was very good. We waited quite a while between receiving our starters and mains. The risotto was a little overdone, and I've never seen a Cioppino with potato in it; I've ordered a lot over the years. We found it a bit noisy, but we're coming to understand that that's what counts as ambiance these days. I'll probably give Cotto Al Mare another try, likely a lunchtime pizza on the patio.

It was fine. Views are stunning of course. The wife had linguine vongole. I had the tagliatelle bolognese. Tastes were fine, wife expected something a little more liquidy. Service was good...

Charming restaurant, beautiful view from the sea, no memorable food, very bad service. Given the nice location and cozy atmosphere the restaurant seemed to have, I booked a table for 6 to celebrate a birthday with one week advance. Actually, when booking online, I could only book for 2 people so I called on Wednesday (they are closed Mondays and Tuesdays) to change it to 6 and asked if I could get a table by the window and they said “yes”. I arrived the day of my reservation and they told me they could not seat 6 people by the window. The place is small, I understand, but they had another party of more than 6 people seated by a window, why not us? Or if it was not possible, why did they tell me over the phone it could/would be done? I naturally felt cheated. Not a good way to start the experience. We ordered 3 starters to share (focaccia, pane formaggio and artichoke fritti) that were quite tasty, but took forever to arrive to the table. Then, for the mains, they brought us only 5 meals. The 6th dish (the penne pollo pesto) took another 20-30min to get to the table. Everyone had almost finished their food when the pollo pesto came. Moreover, only then, they offered us some grated parmesan and pepper for our meals (again, our plates where almost empty). No one came during our meal to refill our waters, ask if we needed/wanted anything else. Just at the end of the meal, they came with water. The server was not paying attention to the table at all. The meals where okay, but not great as to what one would expect from home made pasta (we tried the gnocchi funghi, the pizza capricciosa and the linguine polpette). The lack of customer care and service, and the delay in the 6th dish, did not made us want to stay for coffee and desserts as we had planned and we took our party elsewhere. The restaurant is not big and it wasn’t full to excuse the lack of service. They did not make our special occasion memorable. A waste because the place and location are very good. All in all, I don’t think I would return to eat…maybe someday for cocktails, if they offer me the window table, they said they could.

Delicious food, sangria and view! Sunday afternoon, not busy so we got to sit at the window and it was the perfect weather without too much sun! Had the cotto sangria which I liked the berries and had light ice. The carbonara was sooo yum, savory garlicky creamy dish. Only thing I wish they can figure out is how to make sure the pasta don't stick to each other! The ones stuck together are unevenly cooked but the sauce made it all okay lol. The salad was quite watery, but the giant croton was very crispy and interesting. Will definitely be back again! They have some parking behind the building, probably not enough if they are busy.

Great place for dinner with a view! We had the Pollo Parmesan and the Penne Apollo Pesto, both were delicious. The drinks were also amazing! There is a patio that is perfect for sunny days. We will definitely be back!
