Review Sakuya Japanese Restaurant - Surrey

The family that runs this restaurant is so lovely and friendly. The sushi is great! Quality ingredients and well priced. My only hope is that they start delivery service soon.

Love this place. We eat here at least once a week. My 7 yr old daughter told me to say that she loves this place so much because they really get her 😄

A FRIEND picked up a salmon tempura roll , small order as recovering from surgery. Perfectly wonderful. Took great care on small order as large. Had great flavor and healthy nutritional meal. Grateful Sakuya. Thank you for kindness.

Great sushi with friendly staff! They are the type of people to remember you for sure. Only 4 stars because I feel their teriyaki isn't the best in the world, though it's not bad. Still, I'm a happy regular.

Small and quaint little sushi restaurant. Service is good and quick. Sushi is pretty standard. OK stop for a quick lunch as long as the high-school near by isn't on their break, then you won't get a seat!

Very MEH. Sushi is Safeway quality. Veggie roll was full of lettuce? Service is "okay." Long take out lines, I guess people in Ocean Park just don't want to drive to 152 to get something better.

Awful.. I've gone there a couple times because it's very close to me and the service is awful and they can be very rude. Today I ordered takeout and they told me to come in 10 minutes, I waited 20 minutes for my food to have my edamame means had gone bad and had empty shells in my box? Also my roll was soggy and tasted as if it had been sitting there. Would not recommend.

Good. The food is good, the prices are great, sometimes the service isn't 100% but just a quick mention to ask for more water or something will remind them to pay a little more attention. The servers are never far away. I love the spicy tuna roll, and their speciality rolls are all great. Convenient location, I definitely say it's worth it.

We're lucky to have you in Ocean Park. Since Sakuya Sushi opened in Ocean Park, I've become reliant on it! <br/><br/>I've ordered their party trays for beach parties and dinner parties at home and everyone has always been impressed. I also order a lot just for my husband and myself. My husband doesn't even like raw fish(!) but he likes the beef yakisoba and the gyoza. I particularly like the chirashi, the rainbow roll, and the chopped scallop cones. Everything I've ordered has been fresh, flavourful and carefully prepared. <br/><br/>I live on the west side of White Rock so the location is very convenient and there's good parking. The staff are efficient and pleasant. The ambiance of the little restaurant is nice and relaxing. <br/><br/>Sakuya Sushi is great for my local sushi restaurant.

An okay sushi place. I've been to Sakuya a few times because of its convenient location, but I'm always hesitant to go back because I'm not sure the rolls are worth it. Whenever I order some yam tempura rolls or any sort of roll sushi they tend to fall apart easily and make a mess. <br/><br/>The staff are polite and it's nice to have a sushi place nearby but I just wish they could roll their sushi a bit better.

Good Food!. I have eaten at Sakuya many times over the past year or so and have always enjoyed it. The owner and employees are very friendly. I mostly order take-out, which is made promptly and is always good. I've also dined in several times and never had a bad experience. <br/><br/>Good food and reasonable prices.

Great Food, Consistently Great Service. I honestly have no idea what motivated the two negative reviews here. I also have dined at Sakuya many times and have been impressed with each visit. I also order takeout from them a lot. Sakyua gets thumbs up from me!<br/><br/>Oh, and as for "M", who doesn't have the cojones to even provide a real name, the description of both Sakuya's service and the desperate nature of the local residents are way off.

I am grateful of the location as well as the authentic cuisine. I love the quiet atmosphere and the fresh food quality. Also the staff treats me and my 4 year old daughter like we are aprreciated. The chef has even treated us to complimentary deserts and tempura yam fries which aren't on the menu! Love this place.

I love this little place. The food is wonderful and the service is great! I love the teriyaki chicken and agedashi tofu. The teriyaki chicken is always still sizzling when I get it and it always tender and juicy. The crazy boy roll is amazing as well. Overall I love this little place and I think everyone should give it a try

Unbelievably bad. I also have tried giving this place many chances just because of the location and easiness of getting to it. Usually when I go myself and my guests are the only people in there, yet the service is the absolute worst service i've ever experienced. For one, they don't bring any water/tea for at least ten minutes, no matter if you're the only person seated in the entire place. The food is a 6/10, but the service angers me to a point of writing this review. Usually I get so fed up with the lack of service I bring my empty water up to the front desk and ask for more myself. And after 5+ visits out of pure convenience I never wait for my bill anymore I walk up to the front desk and pay. The manager definitely needs to have a word with their staff about customer first. Don't waste your time here, I know of 15 sushi restaraunts within a ten minute drive and this is certainly the worst.

Love It!. I live 2 minutes from this place and go there every weekend. The people there are always so friendly and the customer service great! The food is good-tasting and very well priced. I couldn't be more pleased! I highly recommend this cute little place!

The level of care and detail to the food is exceptional. Best tempura in town imo. Sashimi and designer rolls are generous and top notch.

Great food, decent prices. Not a bad little spot.
