Review Pho Tau Bay - Surrey

Adrian Torino
Nice quiet spot to enjoy some pho. Usually get the #10 as it has the tendon and tripe and some pieces of beef too. Broth has a nice beef flavor and will always warm you up. Also one of the items we always get is the prok spring rolls and the pork/shrimp salad rolls. The spring rolls come with a vinegar sauce, always very crunchy and freshly made. Same goes for the salad roll. Comes with a tasty sauce and mixed with fresh veggies. Reasonably priced and quick service.

One of my favorite place and delicious food. Pho soup is out if the world. Love it.

Tasty broth and doesn't leave you thirsty after. Ordered med house special and grilled chicken, about $14-15 ea, pricey but you get what you paid for with lots of meat!

I ordered Large #1 House Special. Excellent broth and lots of meat. Will come again.

I ordered a med #2 with a couple spring rolls for $18. I thought it was a bit pricey but they filled that bowl up to the max with noodles. Had a good amount of meat etc and the broth was tasty as well. Spring rolls were good but not the best but definitely not the worst. I was full but I think the price was expensive, I think that price for a large would have been better but I'm from Calgary and the price is cheaper there. Enjoy... I did.

My family and I have been eating here for over 10 years but we will definitely stop after my experience today. The owner messed up on my order and talked back to me about it in a very rude manner (even after I left a tip this was for a to go order, I always tip them even for take out). She then stormed to the back to yell at the kitchen staff to fix my order then she came back up to the front and I heard her saying some disprectful things in Vietnamese to the other waitresses about me, probably thinking I am not Vietnamese. Then when I got home my order was a complete mess and it was still wrong. It use be good but now I know why others have stopped eating and ordering take out from this location. I highly recommend not eating here as the owner is disprectful to the customers and if she treats customers like this then she 100% treats her employees worse.

came here during lunch and definitely good place to drop by for pho, love the house special and my friend ordered the vermicelli dish and it was quite awesome as well. nevertheless, the broth of my pho was definitely fatter than the one i had in pho99 which is something different but very likeable for me. overall it's definitelly a good spot for pho if you're in the area.

My friend and I ordered 2 different large bowls of pho. After a couple of bites, we noticed the noodles were all short and in small pieces, but we ignored it thinking this was no big deal and continued eating. About half way through the bowl, I found a good amount of chili flakes and chili seeds floating around in the broth, from the chili oil provided on your table that you can add to your soup yourself. The problem? I didn't add any of that on my own. I questioned the server about the short noodles and chilies found in my soup and his explanation was that the noodles were from "the bottom of the batch". His explanation of the chili flakes and seeds? None. A number of Vietnamese friends said the only way this was possible was if they reused the broth/noodles from a previous customers bowl of pho. And yes, he still charged us. I am not making any accusations, you be the judge, but I will not be coming back.

Safe bet for good pho! I really like the broth, they give good portions of meat and the noodles are not overcooked. The spring roll is also a must! You can always count on Surrey for authentic Vietnamese cuisine.

Hidden gem alert! Hidden in the depths of Surrey is Pho Tau Bay - serving up some of the best lemongrass chicken the city has to offer!. Lemongrass Chicken is one of my favourite dishes. In fact, I prefer it over pho ;D Whenever my dad and I go to a pho joint he always orders the large pho dac biet, and I always get lemongrass chicken/pork! :D

Hands down this place is one the top 5 pho restaurants in the world. Their broth is better than sex. I eat here everyday and won't stop. Pho Tau Bay is me and I am Pho Tau Bay.

Salad rolls were the best we have had, the iced coffee excellent, unfortunately the soup noodles were overcooked, the staff ignored our complaints and treated us rudely. we won't be back!!!!!!

I've been to this pho place a couple of times and I've gotta say that this is one of the better pho places I've been to. Though this pho is in surrey, it has a pretty rich flavour and tasty broth. The broth isn't bland or watery but has lots of flavour to it. This place always has a decent amount of people in it when I pass by and I can definitely see why! Personally this place is the second best pho place in surrey.

Love the Pho!. After going for Pho all over Surrey, we know this place is the best! Service is really fast, beautifully flavoured broth, always good at very reasonable prices. The only down side to this place is that it takes cash only.

Great Soup. This place has become a regular place for Pho. House special is my soup of choice with an extra order of Jalapeno's to nibble on. My son always orders No.3 on the menu. Also two spring rolls are a must. Will be back again next week.

Delicious, have quickly become a regular customer. Service is quick, premises are clean, and food is fresh...best pho in surrey by far. Only downside is it gets busy.

Can't wait for the Newton Pho Tau Bay to open. I have to change my loyalty from Pho Tam to Pho Tau Bay.
Tau Bay for sure has the best Pho in Surrey. Broth was superb.
They are opening their 2nd in Surrey on Oct. 1 next to the Shoppers Drug Mart
in the strip mall where the Save on Foods is located on King George Blvd.
north of 72nd. Lucky me if they bring the same quality of Pho to my hood.

Very Good Food. Food was really tasteful and hot! Friendly waitress, and helpful with recommendations etc. Could be in a better location or a little modernizing but was good. Price are very reasonable.

Good pho. This place has a high percentage of vietnamese customers-that has to mean something!
i really like the food here. the pho has a nice, deep and clean tasting broth. they also provide a bigger variety of condiments and veggies than the average vietnamese noodle place. recommended!!
the fried rice was very oily but good-very "eggy" which i liked. the grilled pork that came with this dish was juicy and flavorful. the spring roll was crispy without being greasy and the filling was yummy too.
salad roll was fresh.
interiors were renovated recently, nice improvement. i just wish they would get rid of the ugly gigantic cow sticker on their storefront window.
service was hurried but kind. we'll be back!

Great Broth. Place down the street from me a friend recommended we try. I loved the broth, very flavourful (spicy option available), and spring rolls were very good. On a different ocassion had a chance to try their BBQ lemongrass chicken on "half grain" rice, and it was very tasty.

Love the fact that it's in Surrey :-)

Oh yes. I'm from Toronto, born and raised with amazing pho all over the place with XL sizes and regular sized phos with tons of meat in it. Pho Tau Bay is the closest thing to the pho I've tasted since I've moved to BC. Definitely at the top of my list with Pho Soc Trang in Kelowna. Pho Tau Bay is delicious, I love the girl server that is always working there even though she doesn't speak english very well. A small bowl of pho is always plenty with some sate in it. Yum! Everytime I'm back to visit, I take my girls, my bf, and anyone else to meet up with for some pho. I'll try to be there for breakfast lunch and dinner! ahahaha alongside with my bubbletea at bubbleworld of course! Pho Tau Bay is awesome. Definitely a must try.

Thus is the best Pho in surrey or Vancouver. Mo comparison. I've yet to find a better spring roll and the soup is the same everytime. I've been going there since they opened and brought along alot if new believers. The Pho by surrey central use to be the king, they've lost that title since this place opened up.

Not great. Soup wasnt clear and isn't consistent with the Langley location. I wonder if its the same owners...

Good. Before I put the chilli oil, basil lime (lots) and other unnamed green herbs in my pho I always taste the broth. Their broth was on the bland side which could mean not enough meat / bones in the stock, not simmered long enough or not enough MSG - not really sure.

Anyways the broth did not give me a full body beef rush. I ordered my usual rare beef and beef balls and was served that plus tender brisket. It was too delicious to send back and have thrown away. Pho Tau Bay qualifies as the best Pho that I have had in Surrey but would not be a competitor to my favourite East Van haunts. Pleasant, friendly (if somewhat inaccurate) service.

Pass on the spring rolls. Moments south of Guilford.

Best Pho in Surrey. I've been here about 4 times in the past 2 months, and I love it here. I honestly think they have the best Pho in Surrey now. It has the best broth, and they also give you a lot of meat. I used to go to Kim Hoang on 152nd St a lot, but this place is better, and we haven't been back. I've also been to Pho Tam recently, and Pho Tau Bay is definitely the winner.

I usually order the #5 pho with rare steak and brisket, and it's my favorite. I've also tried the Broken Rice and Grilled chicken and spring roll, and it was OK. I'm not that big of a fan of broken rice, but the chicken was tender, juicy, and very flavourful.

I've also ordered the pork salad roll, and it wasn't very good. The waitress did warn me that not many people like it though. I should've listened. But anyways, definitely the best Pho in Surrey.

There was a lot of meat in the pho. I was surprised to find there were still pieces of meat by the time I was almost done with all my noodles.
