Review Mr Pickwick's Fish & Chips - Surrey

Went here with my boyfriend and family. The service was great, everything was fast service. The portion of the fish we're huge! But the fries we're a bit disappointing. The fries just felt soggy for some reason, but the fish wasn't at all. The fish did its justice that's for sure! We even ordered two appetizers, calamari & popcorn Shirmp. The appetizers were also a lot. Definitely would recommend just sharing here if your coming here with your family.

We went to this restaurant thinking that it was part of another Mr pickwick's fish and chips that used to be located in Vancouver. Well it turned out that it had nothing to do with that fabulous restaurant that used to be downtown Vancouver. What is here is a restaurant that's looked after, I don't know if it's the owner that we encountered when we entered the restaurant, or if it was somebody that was working there. Either way that person showed he would rather be somewhere else other than frying fish and chips. The two portions of fish were quite generous, the portion of fries was quite small. The fish was definitely Frozen, not fresh, it didn't have a white cooked flaky texture either. No lemon was served on either of the two plates we had ordered. The glass of water had an off have to taste. When I asked for a glass or a straw for my wife's can of Sprite, I was advised that neither was available. And that I should understand this. I'll not go there again.

The fish was very crispy with good flavor. The portions are huge, ideal for sharing. The fries were mediocre not the best. Would come back here for sure but I'll order the 1 peice combo instead of 2. The sizes are huge and could barley finish one.

We recently had dinner here at the recommendation of a friend. We had take-out, the prices are very reasonable, the food was excellent! The couple who operate this restaurant are very friendly. I live in South Surrey and I picked it up on the way home from work, I prefer the food here over C-lovers.

I have eaten here several times over the last 14 years. You get great value for your money. The owners have always been very pleasant with everybody I’ve ever seen going in there. I consider this restaurant one of Surrey’s little gems.

Portions are huge!! I took only half. I ate some before posting lol. Yummy coleslaw. Affordable. There is calamari there. Next visit.

Large portions for cheap. My friend and I both got a basic 3 piece fish and chips and we both were stuffed and had a full leftover meal. Very tasty, would recommend.

We went here Tuesday which is "Eat All You Can Fish" for $12.99. Big serving, fish is super crunchy, the place is clean but not the utensils. Reasonable price.

This shop is in my neighborhood and I continue to support it. Seems to be owned and run by a couple. Fish pieces are big and fine. Fries could be a lot better though. Whenever I get them home they are always kind of limp and soggy, not crisp and golden brown which would be ideal. Maybe they would be crisper if they were not wrapped up in paper with the fish before I got them home just a couple of minutes away, I don't know. I know that lemons are more expensive these days but they should include a couple of wedges regardless because this is standard and once they gave me lime and I thought that was comical and I think the last time I got neither. Limp fries are the biggest downer though. Restaurant inside looks pleasant and appears to be kept neat and clean.

Best fish and chips around, and the portion size is huge! We always order the lunch special, 2 pieces and homemade chips for $7.95 until 3 pm daily. Excellent homemade tartar sauce, nice light batter and not greasy. Fish is always fresh! We buy 3 orders for 4 people, affordable for a family. The family that runs the business take pride in the food, and are always pleasant to talk to.

Amazed at the size!. I took my little brother here for the first time since I moved to the area and I can saw we were not disappointed. The food sizes were generous. We agree next time we will share a two piece. Unlimited Tartar sauce as well.

Always looking to find a place to rival Cockey Kings in newest, I didn't find it here. I ordered the 2 piece halibut & chips take out. The service was decent but at end made me wonder. the woman made a point of confirming with cook what I ordered!?? Why?? I was only customer at that time. the order was correct. when I came into the place a strong smell of fish, not a great smell that made me hungry. Anyways got fish home but once again on the way the smell was borderline iffy. Shared it with gf and the fish pieces were big but not tasty. they were edible but not something you run back for. the fries were big too once again not special. the batter and fish tasted ok but no sparks or a place I want to bother with again. once again Cocky Kings is worth the drive to newest for a proper fish and chips.

Excellent Service!. We decided to have fish and chips pretty late on a Tuesday. The manager kept the store open past closing for our arrival and served us with a smile. That's the best kind of service. Plus the food was great!!

Went there today for there lunch specials my bf and we both ordered the 2 piece fish and chips. I found y reasonably priced for fish and chips. Not the Best in the world but I enjoyed it and will be returning soon... Would love to hear more about the other items on the menu from others.

I love fish & chips and there are some excellent places in Surrey to enjoy them. However this restrauant is not one of them. My wife granddaughter and I went for Fathers day lunch today. We each had the "all you can eat" meal at $10.99 each. The waitress was pushy; we asked for more time and she was back at the table within about a minute. They were not busy so this was unnessacary. When the food arrived it was hard to find the fish among copious layers of overcooked thick layers of batter. The fish, when found hidden in the batter, was tasteless. Lemon, if it was available, was not brought to the table. Total cost for the three of us including one tea, two softdrinks, one mushy peas and one cup of soup came to over fifty dollars. Not a huge amount, but for that price I expect good food this was not! My first and last time in the restrauant!
