Review Denji Sushi - Surrey

We tried the Salmon Bomb Roll, and it was so so good! Very good spice. That’s my favorite followed by the Mango California Roll. Very friendly atmosphere, and the servers were very welcoming and friendly. I’ll be visiting again. Highly recommend. Good parking in the plaza as well.

One of our faves close to home. Everything we order is consistently fresh and amazing. It's so good that every time we have visitors, we always either take them here or order out. The staff are very friendly and courteous. Highly recommend to dine in or out when in Clayton area.

We have tried their Lunch Plate C ($16.95), Spicy Chicken Karage Donburi ($13.95) and Katsu Donburi ($13.95), and absolutely loved all of them! We like the flexibility in the Special Lunch Plate, it allows us to choose 2-4 items, so we can try a variety of things from tempura, sashimi, noodles, and special rolls. Their sunomo even comes with a shrimp and even had carrot cut into the shape of a flower as garnish. The Donburi is nicely balanced with veggies and they are very tasty as well. They also have very friendly services. We have been coming here two weekends in a row, and can't wait to come back here again!

First time for me, definitely will visit again. Not only it looks good, tasty! Especially I like the fried shrimp with cream cheese. And their karage makes this place my favorite.

Ordered party tray and tempura for dinner. The whole family love it. The sushi tastes good. The tempura needs more flour but overall it’s delicious. I would highly recommend this place.

I’ve been ordering from Denji for the last three years now and I’m always happy to. It reliably tastes fresh, rice is soft & chewy and there’s a special roll for everyone (my favourite is the Spider Roll). They have great lunch specials and this place is for sure a gem. Hopefully they can stay in business with the same owners for a long time because it’s really hard to find places that are always consistent in quality…

It was my first time coming in with my friend. The restaurant was clean and the servers were friendly. The ramen I ordered had a lot of flavour, and I really enjoyed the creamy prawn!

Staff and atmosphere are wonderful. Very attentive and top notch food every time. Tasters from the chef are an excellent touch. The fresh nigiri keeps me coming back.

One afternoon we found ourselves at Denji Sushi at Clayton Gate. We liked it there. Our server was friendly and just attentive enough. Comfortable booths or tables and chairs, and nice and light with big windows. Dave, my brother, started with a Sunomono Salad. It was quite impressive with a lot of shrimp! I started with Miso Soup which was also quite well put together. It sort of indicated that someone was taking some pride in the small things in the kitchen. I had a Sushi and Sashimi Combo that came with a California Roll. There was no Nigiri combo which is what I usually look for. Also, they teased us with a hand written sign that advertised Uni but alas they had run out! Still everything was fresh and tasty. The rice in the nigiri was both nicely seasoned and in nice proportion to the fish. It seemed a little expensive at $15.95. Little brother had the Chirashi Don. This was another very nicely put together plate with a generous selection of tasty bites including snapper, salmon, tuna, tomago, shrimp and even octopus. Again, a little expensive at $18.95 but nicely crafted. This place seems like it probably has a lot of local appeal as we noticed quite a few take out orders heading out the door while we were there. In Metro Vancouver, the land of too many sushi joints, this one can hold its own.

We had many "go to" places for Japanese food, and when we found this place about a month ago, and it took over as our top "go to" place for Japanese food. Service is great, Staff is very polite, food is great. We used to go to other sushi places, and this place definitely took top spot for us.

The staff were very welcoming! They have a big menu with lots of different stuff. My favorite by far was the prawn spicy lover roll. Just the right amount of heat. Will be going back for sure!

Sushi was alright - the California rolls were insanely salty.. but the spicy tuna had a nice kick and was extremely tasty. Prices are pretty high, not sure if I'll return.

This place used to be so good, I guess they just sold the place wish I knew that before I ordered, this is supposed to be chicken teriyaki don it looks like chicken teriyaki soup,and gyoza is just huge deep fried crap,isn't it supposed to be pan fried. This really sux cause the old owners had the best Surrey Japanese food around.

This is legitimately the best sushi in the lower mainland. Everytime I get sushi from somewhere else I am always disappointed. The quality of the food is amazing. The place is kind of a hole in the wall, but in my experience the smaller and less "fancy" a sushi place is, the better the food is. The service is awesome, all the staff are really friendly. 10/10 every time I've been. They're fast, delicious and generally amazing.

Best sushi ever. I've tried other places and always end up back at Denji! I moved out of the area and I'll still drive back to get to Denji!! Mmmm!!

I love Denji, it's my favourite for price and for those sushi cravings! Everything is portioned extremely well, and prices are extremely fair. The Marine Roll is SO GOOD. I go to a lot of sushi restaurants and can honestly say their food is incredible..

Denji is my favourite sushi place in the Cloverdale area. They've got the best specialty rolls and the service is always good and fast. I would definitely recommend them.

Service was horrible :'( but sushi was good. The service was very horrible. I have to wait for a table more than 30 minutes even though there were tables that is uncleaned, and waitress was not friendly. She thought that she was very busy with the customers but I didn't think so lol. But food was good.

Super duper average. I was not at all impressed with it, had the house roll and spicy tuna. I can honestly say it was almost ok. I will not be going back. If you are looking for sushi in this area try village sushi it's better

Best sashimi I've had in a long time, my favourite sushi place!! (I eat a lot of sushi and have tried all of the other places in Langley/Clayton area, this is by far the best)

Mediocre at best. I've gone about 4 different times and it never improves. I won't go back again.

One of my favorites. Love this place, the food is always spot on and of great quality. I recommend the Agedashi Tofu, Spicy Tuna Roll and Caterpillar Roll. The staff is also very friendly. Only downside is that they close for a couple hours during lunch. If I could eat here every day, I truly would.

So yummy!. Very enjoyable Japanese experience. I have eaten here twice so far, once at lunch and once at dinner. For dinner, I had a California Roll and Teriyaki Chicken. I was pleasantly surprised at the portion size of the Teriyaki chicken which came with lots of fresh steamed veggies. The chicken was just a tad dry, but that's really my only complaint.<br/><br/>Service was good all around. I highly recommend this place as it was a pleasant departure from a lot of small town asian restaurants I've been to.

After another run at Tynehead we wanted sushi again. This time we visited Denji Sushi in Cloverdale which was right by my friends place. It’s one of the better places that are close by, so they visit it very frequently. They said it wasn’t that special though. I kind of ordered too much, for myself, but I wanted to try lots. The black rice sushi really caught my eye. I’ve seen brown rice sushi before, but not black. I’ve actually never heard of black rice, but it supposedly has many healthy properties. I ordered a black rice sushi California roll with crispy tempura bits on top (don’t remember what it’s called), a piece of tamago, agedashi tofu, and a chicken teriyaki don. The Cali roll was tasty, pretty standard but the black rice made it kind of sweeter, and a bit nuttier. Th tempura topping added an airy crisp to it too, with a bit of the unagi sauce. I think I prefer this over deep fried rolls because then it doesn’t get warm, and a bit stickier. The age
