Review Maple Sushi - Surrey

Good hidden place. Little strange menu name - assorted sushi combo only comes with 4 pieces nigiri……

It really is the best sushi place in town. The portions are big and the happy lunch combo is the best! The rice is very moist and the fillings are proportionate. This is the only sushi place that we go to for takeaway for the past 3 years. Thank you very much for always remembering us!

Waste of time to order at Maple. Rolls not very good and are smaller then other places. Same with the nigri. Just up the street is the much better Sushi Mori.

Friendly service, nice atmosphere, and good quality food. Dishes are beautifully presented and delicious. Great for families with small children.

It's an okay sushi place. Staff was very nice. We got our food very quick and the quality was good.

Very cozy restaurant to be in. Love the food here, got a wide range of variety and has more than just the generic rolls. Their sashimi has always tasted fresh. Good pricing and decent quality food. Came here a couple times already. Would definitely recommend to friends.

Got the sashimi dinner box and it was huge, definitely got my moneys worth

I have been ordering from maple sushi for years and years. They are nothing to write home about but consistently “good” quality. The amount of food you get with their dinner box orders is why I continue to order from them. Their sushi itself is of medium quality. Edit, response to the owner: I order and eat a lot of sushi, it's one of my favourite foods. In no way am I a sushi chef or a trained food expert... But the order of all the rolls I've received from Maple Sushi have had an abundance of rice in the rolls, and less of the filling. The imitation crab in California rolls has a slightly "off" taste. More times than not the avacado in both the California rolls and Avocado rolls have been browning and overly ripe. The tuna and salmon in rolls have a very strong fishy taste and do not seem fresh. The dynamite roll has, in contrast, been smaller than the California rolls! Very odd kitchen choices for the "Best Sushi In Town."

Pretty good place when you happen to stop by in White Rock for sushi. The chicken teriyaki is always sizzling hot and quite yummy! Sushi's serve fresh and the ambiance is nice and not too loud. Will come back!

Mediocre quality. I decided to try this place because it's close to the cinema. I ordered the basic rolls so I don't think you can mess up on that badly. The overall meal was average. I didn't experience bad experience as many had reviewed. Would I want to come back? Maybe not, because I know of higher quality japanese restaurants in the area.

I was in the mood to grab one specialty roll. Paid almost 12 dollars (take out so no tip) and the Kirin roll was the most disappointing roll I've ever had. And hardly filling. I knew its a bit of a hit and miss there but will be going to Takas for now on

HORRIBLE SER VICE!!!. My family (7 members) went to celebrate my mom's birthday here. We ordered alot of food, the bill came up over $180. These are some of the bad service we have experienced.<br/>1. The hostess were not welcoming, she made us feel awkward about ordering and asking for condements such as napkins. With the amount of food we had we only had 1 napkins each.<br/>2. We were only allowed to have 1 soy bottle which only had 1/4 of the container left, I asked for a more filled bottle and was ignored.<br/>3. our first wave of food came, all entree no appetizer. we had 10 minute break (which is understandable for the amount of food we ordered) and within this 10 minutes our table was not cleared of empty plates and wiped, even though we were the only customers there at the time.<br/>4. The hostess did not want to give us extra ginger, I had to say "give me $10 worth"<br/>5. Not only we did not get glasses of water but our tea was left empty until we asked for more (mind that we were the only customer at the restaurant at the time)<br/>6. After all of these laziness, they had the audacity to demand for tip. Tips are given to good service. Does these sound like good service? no it is not.

Horrible. Do not order delivery from this restaurant. I was told that my food would arrive at my house in an hour, but it took over an hour and a half to arrive. The food was greasy and unappetizing.

Bad service attitude. Lied to customer about waiting time for takeout order on purpose, and said to me she did that because she wanted to have my order or I might walk away if I know the real waiting time(50mins) . Speechless. (what she said in the first place was 20 mins). So, it ended up I stood in the restaurant for extra 30 mins. Bad service after all.

This place seriously needs new chefs and a new menu. Everything we ordered was heavily fried or smothered with greasy mayonnaise which was really unappealing. My tempura and dynamite roll was literally drippin with grease... The service was fine, but the food really needs to be improved. Oh, an y sister ordered the udon and it was pretty flavorless too.

Hit and a miss sometimes. Depends on who's preparing the food I find. Be careful not to stare for too long. He will mess with your food! Just stare at the cute waitress though, again, don't be a creeper!

Yuck. All I have to say is this place has the WORST sushi I have ever tasted!!!!!! I can't believe it is still open and people actually eat there!!!

Always has been good. Love the quick "Happy Menu" at lunch time, fresh affordabe and always very fast, new reno looks wonderful

How does this restaurant have such a low rating ? It's by far the best sushi place I've Been to ... And I'm a hard core sushi eater . Absolutely delicious and the price is good! Not only that but the service Is amazing !! Best place ever !

Food is key to having a good restaurant. However, those aren’t the only things that go into a having a good restaurant. Customer service is also key. When I visited Maple Sushi in South Surrey on Saturday I didn’t receive the warmest welcome! When we arrived there were about 7 tables full and the rest of the tables still had dishes on them, but the chairs had been vacated. There were only two waitresses working so I’m sure they were short staffed. But there was a lack of friendliness from the moment I entered the restaurant. It seemed as if I was more of an annoyance than anything. For example, when I told the waitress we were ready to order in a very annoyed tone said she would come back. So, how did I find the food tasted? Well I first started off with an Ebi Sunomono salad. The Ebi was fresh and so were the noodles, but I found the actual taste of the salad to be very sweet and too salty! Next, I got the Rainbow Roll! This roll was a little different then I was used to as it didn’t have seaweed but soybean sheet! I thought that was a nice change. The inside had imitation crab mixed with mayo and avocado and was topped with assorted fish such as salmon, octopus, and ebi. The roll was good and fresh, but I felt as if it lacked some flavour and I thought that there was so much octopus compared to the salmon and ebi which I thought they didn’t give me as much (or the pieces weren’t as thick as I received with the octopus). All in all this restaurant was pretty average. It wasn’t bad! But the service was not the greatest. If my friend wanted to go here again I would go back, but I probably wouldn’t come here by myself or recommend it. Maple Sushi is located at: 2385 King George Blvd Surrey, BC V4A5A4
