Review Noodle Island - Surrey

Good portion for the vermicelli bowl. Spring roll was nice and crispy, meat patty was very tasty but I wasn't a fan of the flavour of the lemongrass chicken. Overall good meal and I'd go back again.

Really really delicious food! The absolute best I’ve had and I’m not new to Vietnamese cuisine. Everything was fresh and you could tell they care about what they serve you. My only complaint is we waited at our table for over 20 minutes trying to call a waitress over to our table. I could tell the staff could see us trying to call them over but they seemed to ignore us.

Fantastic spot for good eats. They have a huge menu list with just about every option. I asked if I can modify my order and asked what the extra cost would be, and was told that there is no extra charge for modifying my order. My one qualm is that when I went to lay my bill, they already added the tip without telling me, or asking if I wanted to or how much I wanted to tip. They automatically added a 10 percent gratuity. I would have gladly tipped larger then that for their service, and great tasting food, but I couldn’t. Aside from that, this place has got the best tasting lemongrass chicken with fried rice combo this side of the bridge

I was a frequent visitor to this restaurant with my family, from the beginning I noticed that the service was not the best, the women who serve are very "cold" without warmth to attend the customers , but the prices and food were good. But all that changed yesterday, Saturday May 28, I went with my family once again and for me I ordered my favorite dish, the special soup, my family ordered the fried ribs, and the fried squid which were our favorites. After waiting the usual time, they brought me the soup, I always wait a bit while the meat inside the soup cooks to a good finish. when I was ready to try the soup, I found a long hair inside it, and there's no way it's mine because I'm bald !!! quite unpleasant for me, so much so that I called the lady who took my order and showed her the hair in the soup, she took the soup, but not before I told her that I no longer wanted soup, that instead I wanted another rice special for me. What caused me the most indignation was that there was no apology from the restaurant for what happened, it was simply as if nothing had happened. Ok they bring me the rice. But I was quite disappointed, in addition to finding a hair in the soup. It was there was no apology from the restaurant for what happened, it was a simply as if nothing happened. Now , I nave many doubts about how they prepare the food there behind that wall. The service is not good, but with what happened yesterday, I am convinced that it is not a good restaurant, they has the seasoning, but the customer service is so bad! and it's is very important for me, and they do not have it.

I had the #57 beef with noodles and bean sprouts. For the price, the portion size was massive. I couldn’t believe how much food was brought out, and I couldn’t finish it. Ended up taking the rest home as leftovers. The food was very good as well, and it reheated well to have the rest for dinner.

A solid pho restaurant. Located in a plaza, the first thing I noticed was their decor. Lots of plants inside, as well as a bamboo roof-shed and a junk ship at the back. Next was their service - it was pretty good. Waitress was polite and friendly but sometimes in a hurry. Pho was decent. A large size is for $12.00 (April 2022), which is cheaper than most other pho restaurants. Overall, it’s a decent place!

Had been coming here as a regular for a couple of years but after my experience today, I will not be coming to Noodle Island. We started off great, the male server was kind and had been able to make adjustments to my meal. I had noticed a hair inside my food and we had informed the server who took the meal back into the kitchen. The owner comes out a minute later holding the hair and starts rudely saying that the hair was mine and that no one who works at Noodle Island has this type of hair. She then starts invading my space and puts the hair which was previously inside the food on my head as if to prove a point. Whether the hair was mine or a workers, you do not come out with such disrespect to a person, I would’ve been happy to have gotten the dish replaced and still paid for the meal. Not only was this very unprofessional but I have never dealt with customer service this poorly before. The other workers continued to glance at our table and we could tell they were gossiping about us, this made us feel very unwelcomed and we had quickly lost our appetite and asked for a togo box to take our meal home. As someone who also works at a restaurant, this is not the type of service I would be displaying to those who work with me. Although the food here is good, the service is terrible, disappointing and left me with no appetite and I will not be coming back here with friends or family again.

Very pleasant and refreshing atmosphere with fresh plants surrounding seating and traditional decor. The food came in great size portions. Best value for money I've seen to date. Menu is very extensive and diverse. And they also give you options to mix it up. Staff were amazing. Will definitely be returning.

My kids, husband and I all love this place! One of our favourite places for takeout. It's a bit of a wait sometimes when eating there but it's worth it. Prices are great for how much food you get and it's delicious.

I've only been here for pho, and I wasn't blown away. Not much to say about this place except it has a lot of work to do if it wants to be successful in this neighbourhood. Service needs to be improved, we did end up waiting a long time for our food, granted it was the lunchtime rush.

Absolutley one of our favorite places to eat! Service is excellent, food is great we love the spicey squid and the stir fried vegetables also rice noodles with meat and seafood as well as the bun.

I have gone to this restaurant since it opened. It has been the same owners from day 1 and so has their less than impressive service. I rarely write reviews, and I am the type to normally take other reviews with a grain of salt, so I'm sure many of you will as well. But I thought it was imperative for me to warn/express to others how horrible the owners/ staff treat their customers. Thats right CUSTOMERS. I've always experiences a feeling of dislike from the female owner - don't know why? As we have never not-tipped, nor have really ever been a real bother to them when they have been busy/short staffed. Considering how many Pho restaurants are popping up these days, you would think the owners would be concerned and put some more effort in how they treat their paying customers. I am of Asian ethnic, so I am quite familiar with what is included/what is an extra charge at Vietnamese Restaurants. One time, they tried to charge me for hot tea. Now I understand, at some establishments you get charged for tea, but NOT at a PHO restaurant. That is absurd! I even let this slide and just paid the $.50 they charged per cup. It was the last incident, that caused me to swear never to go back...even though I live a minute away. I was there for dinner with my mother, we ordered deep fried chicken wings (no sauce) as an appy, a vermicelli bowl, and a bowl of pho. I had asked for some fish sauce (used to put on the vermicelli dish and also to dip chicken wings). When we got our bill, there was a $1 charge on it for fish sauce. Now that made me so mad...it's not like I dont have the $1 to pay, but it is ridiculous how they think they can charge me for fish sauce when its SUPPOSE to come with the dish. I was so upset and asked the owner why I had been charged this. BTW - even with the mediocre service, we had gone to this place on average 1x a week, and our bill was $30-40 everytime. The female owner stated "We have new staff I want to make sure they know how to charge for additional items...next time you come I won't charge you". Im sorry, but NEXT TIME? Good luck with that, you just lost a weekly customer who paid lets say $35/week x 48 weeks = $1680 annually in sales. Im sorry, but Im not willing to pay your establishment another dime. So, thanks but no thanks, ill drive a little way and go either to Surrey Central (which is way better) or even to Langley.

Best vietnamese and overall best in surrey. Best restaurant in surrey, I am a bit of a foodie and have always had to go to vancouver to find great food, finally something a little closer to home

Yum!. Definitely my family's go-to vietnamese restaurant in Surrey or anywhere in general! Have been going here for many years now and are on a first name basis with the owners whom are very kind and know our usual orders. Service is quick and well priced, just like any other vietnamese restaurant. Being vietnamese, I can say that this food is very authentic and tastes true to what homemade pho would taste like. Their chinese noodle stir fry is amazing considering the chefs are actually chinese. Also, their bun boe hue is the best here!! Would 100% recommend this place!

Disgusting. I have nothing to say about this place. just so gross. my waitress yelled at me when I suggested her for a better service.

who yells at a paying customer?

Love love love it! Been going here for maybe 2-3 years now, maybe more... We often frequent this place for Sunday lunch, it gets busy around the noon rush but we often get there just before that. The service is great, but even better is the food! Fresh, and pipping hot Vietnamese pho soup! I love getting the chicken with quail egg, but they have various kinds with beef, vegetable, or no meat (regular is ~$5-6, then there's a large which is just a bit more). This restaurant is the reason I have an obsession with cilantro now, the fresh herb scent is just so appetizing to me! Soup is awesome when days are a bit chilly, but on hot days I often opt for the grilled lemon grass chicken with egg (comes with rice, salad, and a side of soup) - you get a lot for just less than $10. Finally to satisfy my smoothie craving I order the avocado shake/smoothie, mmmmmmmmmm oh so good!

The food is good but the service could be better. Maybe some of the staff work long hours here cause it shows, but sometimes just a smile goes a long way. They could be a little bit more professional by walking the customers to a table and having menus ready right away instead of just asking "how many?" And then just say, "sit where you like".

Like like like.... It's not bad I always like the independent restruarant their will be suprise. It's clean friendly and most important thing is the food it's good and fresh. We had order #10 and #14 for pho. The soup is very good that u can tell it had been cook with a very good stuff in it. We also order some Chinese food in the Chef selection, # A 17 and chili squid (must tried if u r sea food lovers) i had never taste anything like that it it Fresh and has a exotic spice it's good. Over all it's good but only one thing that needs to improve is we were expecting appetizer to come first but instead everything Came out almost the same time. May be next time we have to request.

The best. I went as recommended by a friend after a new renovation. They were quit busy and service were okay. The soup was very good it's not as greasy as the one I had in the other pho restaurant, the side vegetable were fresh. My partner had order a lemons grass chicken on rice, he think the whole meal was amazing never had chicken as fresh and tasty before. The bill came to about $30 with a very good fresh spring rolls and cold rolls. Overall Noodle Island is highly recommended.

Not so good. Decided to give it a try as some friends said they had eaten there and was quite good. They did say they heard it was new owners and I did notice the inside had been redone compared to photo's I saw online. We ordered the Seafood with Vemicelli, " came as a very small portion." Curry Chicken with rice, Stir fried Chicken with vegetables with crispy egg noodles and the shrimp and pork salad rolls. All three of us were very disappointed with the whole meal.
The seafood dish was 2 shrimp, one scallop about the size of my thumbnail, I large chunk of fake crab and one slice of squid. The small scallop was tasteless and the squid was like chewing a rubber band. The Chicken Currey dish had no spice, all dark meat and the vegetables were basic large chunks of Celery, Carrot and a few pieces of Broccoli. Some Mushrooms would have been nice! The vegetables although cut in very large chunks were mush, either they had been cooked way too long or left over from a few days ago.
"Note," This was a tuesday the day after they are closed for one day." The egg noodles were basically fresh out of a Supermarket Chow Mein can and soon turned to mush with the sauce poured over. The soup was about as basic as it got with probably a little Red Pepper paste and chicken broth. The Shrimp spring rolls were large but tasteless. Bill was almost 40 dollars without drinks. I have traveled to S.E. Asia and ate way better at a food cart.

Awesome food. Been to a alot of pho over the years and this place is really good.

Prices are reasonable, and service is great. Very clean dining and washrooms- not dark and run down like alot of other places.

Staff is really nice and has the "family run" feel to it. The restaurant is fairly busy in the evenings when I've gone there

I keep going to different vietnamese rests., but I keep going back to this gem.

Noodle Island. Honestly, that's a pretty strange name. I found this place about half a year ago, but decided to eat at Sunny Dragon a few stores down. I got take out this time because I needed to get back for UFC. So we o
