Review Kalmar Family Restaurant - Surrey

Visited for the first time with the wife, and we were quite pleased with our visit. While the place was a bit dated, it had the feel of an old school family restaurant with plenty of booth-style seating and separated table dining area. Ordered the classic burger with a salad, while the wife had fish and chips. We split a strawberry waffle. The fish and chips were good (the fries were outstanding), as was my burger. The salad was a salad but that's why I ordered it. Our waitress was very nice and funny. She spoke to us as if we had been long-time customers and it was appreciated.

Came for lunch here and ordered liver and onions.. The gravey was sour so called the server to let him know.. he said "it shouldn't be bad this early as we make grave once a week" The service is TERRIBLE. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR A NICE MEAL.

Usually they have pretty good food but this one looks horrible. I ordered turkey clubhouse without any sides. Still had to pay the full price. And then when I got back to work I opened the box and got this. Cut in such a weird way with older yellow lettuce and greenish slice of tomato. Such a disappointing sandwich. Not worth 14$.

Disgusting food. Tastes like plastic. I threw up on the first bite. Food is horrible here. The place is dirty: dirty floor with food scraps, dirty table and dirty utensils. When you go inside, the place smells like an old or ancient movie theater. The place is very dusty! The owner was also intimidating and had a loud voice. Not returning here, this is the worst restaurant I've ever been to!

From the moment we entered, until we left, we were treated like GOLD! The waitress was friendly, efficient and a real HOOT. She was attentive to our needs, without being overly overbearing. Our breakfast was not only great portions, but high-quality and very delicious. What a wonderful dining experience. We highly recommend Kalmar.

Service was excellent, food was good and simple. Will be back.

Amazing service (accommodating with special orders and very friendly and attentive), great portions to price ratio, and great menu variety. And did I mention that the food was very tasty?

Easy parking , good soup and food always. They make their own hamburger patties . I always order one.

Took a group of work colleagues on a Sunday for the Buffet and we all loved it, Planning on swinging by again.

We had a small graduation celebration dinner there for my kids. 30 of us including a few young ones. The restaurant was amazing. Service was incredible. Food tasted great. Price was good. Very patient with all the 10 and under kids we had. 10/10 Will do it again.

Typical diner feel.  I was a bit leary about their salad bar, the salad isn't on ice, just an open fridge, the leary part is the potato salad in an open fridge like that and getting warm.  Food was ok, service was less then par, had to flag them down just for water.

It is a cozy place with a small country diner feel to it.  Their main menu has a great deal of variety including a 2 patied burger that  took care of me well.  I managed to sample their all you can eat salad bar optional add on free of charge (standard offer with any mealover $9.00 with a drink).  It didn't have a lot of options but the potatoe salad was not too heavy on the maonaise like most and I enjoyed the green onion and shredded carrot.  Service was great, they even substituted the processed cheese that came on my burger with real cheddar free of charge.  The only downside was there was some dirty cutlery and a dirty coffee cup at our table.  For what the place was it was affordable and the food was good.  I would go back and if you are looking for a quiet eating environment this place will work.

Was okey but..... We enjoyed the friendly service but the meals were nothing special . For the price I expected something with flavor. I said to the wife I could not see myself visiting this place again.

Owner is a probelm. Stopped in for lunch and had a so so meal. Tipped the waiter but mentioned this to the owner and he became verbally abusive and said to not come back. Don't worry we won't.l

Nothing to make us want to go back. Ordinary food, smallish portions, for more $$ than it's worth. Three of five diners left hungry, which should not inspire confidence.

Crappy over priced food. Only way to get your money's worth is the breakfast buffet on Sundays. It's really quite ordinary and I can make these meals at home for a cheaper price

I stopped in for dinner and was pleased to find out everything is homemade here. I had the salad bar to start my meal and the homemade salads were very fresh and homemade tasting! I will come again!! Fabulous service!

Good food and service. Me and my family having been going to this restaurant for years . They serve fresh , tasty food using quality ingredients . They are one of the best breakfast restaurants in surrey !! The staff are extremely friendly and we have never had a poor experience here ... We will be continuing to go there !!

So so I try this restaurant food for change. Their food is ok but expensive. I like my fav "Hearty boy restaurant" better. Their food is way better and has a reasonable price then here.

One of the last good breakfast family restaurants in Surrey. Try it you won't be disappointed.
