Review Aaron's Pizza - Surrey

C and M
We ordered pizza & lasagna online on a Tuesday (who wants to try a place at their busiest times?) and it was ready when we went to pick it up. Everyone friendly. Got double cheese on lasagna & it was absolutely delicious. Loved the sauce. Pizza reminded me so much of those hearty "Greek style" pizzas we had in the 80s at the local Mom and Pop places. This totally hit that nostalgic spot for me. Will be back!

Amazing staff! Our waitress and the cook were super friendly and just nice down to earth people. Food was good and they even gave my fussy toddler some buttered noodles for free :p. Highly recommended this little place and the spicy spaghetti!!

We used to really love Aaron’s. Little family owned restaurant with amazing and friendly staff. Not sure what had changed but the last couple orders had not been the greatest. We ordered two entrees but one of them was not a full order. We got the calamari dinner but missing the sides (no rice, no salad, no pita bread). We phoned them and the lady on the phone was very apologetic and got a driver to deliver the sides. An hour later we got the rice but still missing the salad and pita bread. Was told that we’re getting credited for the sides but I’m not sure if we’ll be back.

One of the few, great small restaurants still hanging on. Don't know the why or the how, but my wife and I just love the pizza here. So if your cruising through Cloverdale or hankering for some pizza take out, give Aaron's a call and help a small family restaurant and hidden gem.

We have been going to Aaron's for many years, and had always been happy with the excellent service and food. But lately, we have noticed the decline of quality ,freshness, and flavor .The pizzas were skimpy and the beef souvlaki was fatty and salad soggy, rice was nasty. Tonight we thought we'd try it again ,( just pizza)and were denied the 2 pizzas for $28.95 advertised on the front page of the menu. They said it's $35 and refused to give the deal. The person on the phone was rude and said to her coworker loudly "this is that guy who always orders the 2 medium pizza deal ." We won't be going back ever again.

One of the finest local restaurants you can find in this locality. We just loved their vegetarian Pizza!!

This used to be my favorite place to order spaghetti or lasagna but after tonight I will have to look elsewhere. Ordered two spaghetti for the kids. The sauce has an odd flowery?? weird smell and the kids did nothing but complain that it was spicy, something I never used to worry about when ordering from here. Ordered two lasagna as well. They didn't have the odd smell but definitely spicy. Not sure why they changed their sauces, it's supposed to be Italian and Greek?...but so disappointed.

I was hoping for a better experience. We ordered appetizers, which were pricey for what we got...but then our waitress was done her shift and went and sat in the restaurant while we waited over 20 mins for 2 cans of pop and "pita with tzatziki" for someone to take the rest of our order. After we finally placed our order with a lady who may have been a manager, we got our pizza which wasn't fully cooked. The toppings were great but the dough was not. Highly unlikely that we'd try it again, but other customers that came in raved about it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I've been to Aarons a dozen times now. I have always enjoyed the food. Lily is my favorite server! She is very sweet! The kitchen staff has come out and asked how we enjoyed our food! All around great place to go!

Huge portions of the best home cooked feel good food I’ve had in a long time. Run by an amazing family.

Food is Awesome and I really enjoy all the customers who come in.

Always good food and lots of it. Hot and delicious. Eat in or order take away. My favorite is the penne and spicy sausage, comes with lots of roasted garlic cloves.

It’s ok I guess.

Ordered tonight... Tortellini Alfredo with prawns. We received fettuccini alfredo and a measly 2 prawns complete with a hair! When we called back to have the correct order sent out to us they said it would be half an hour.. Well an hour goes by and we call them because no one showed up. They hadn't even bothered to remake it. Just gave us a bunch of excuses. Will not be ordering again!

My wife & I had been wanting to eat at Aaron's for sometime and today decided to give it a try. What a hidden treasure. We ordered the medium Greek salad (should have had the side salad) it is a good size and even sharing would have been enough. it was fresh, crispy and cold with a variety of peppers, absolutely deliciou.s. Also ordered a medium house special pizza (again should have ordered the samll one. The crust was crispy and there was a good amount of toppings but absolutely delicious. We will be back to try other dishes, well worth it. A small but good & reasonable wine list.

Love eating here but recently was treated like my business didnt matter. Had to call back twice to get my full order in for pickup. Told 40 minutes, arrived 45 mins to pick up and they had not even placed the order and ushered me out the door to deal with other customers. Never eating here again. And have been a cloverdale resident and customer for 20 years. Cool. Thanks for ruining one if my favourite places! Will be telling everyone not to deal with these people again.

Absolutely LOVE this place! They put so much love into the food, and it is well worth the wait. Everything we’ve tried is delicious - pizza, pasta, souvlaki - and the price just can’t be beat: on our last visit we both had an entree, and 2 alcohol beverages each, and our total after tax was $56! Came here for Mother’s Day dinner, it was our first time. And it won’t be our last! I had the best roasted lamb shank dinner, and the pizza here is GOOD!
I also need to shout out to the amazing staff. This family is sooo friendly, and even though they were super busy, our server made time to connect with us and share some laughs. What a great place!

This place used to be really good when I first moved to cloverdale. It's since gone down hill. The back area where customers normally don't see looks unkept and gross. Place needs to be visited by health inspector. Won't eat there anymore. Doesn't taste like it used to anyway.

Went looking for this Italian restaurant after a buddy of mine went there. Checked out the menu and I new I had to try the famous seafood chowder, mmm it is so good! Service is great. Food is delicious & well made.

We used to order for other pizza places, but found that Aaron's was one of the better ones. The quality of our pizza's have been fairly consistent, although the last delivery we had, the pizza was cold, and I was a bit surprised to see the driver didn't put them in a pizza warmer bag. That said, I have respect for pizza delivery people because the job can be a challenge. btw.. the hot wings were good.

Another time we ordered pizza for pickup, I sat in the car for almost an hour past the "should be ready at" time, since they were so busy. Obvious a popular place.

Went back to Aaron's last night after a few months as we just have had time to get out there. It was Friday night and there were a few of us and the place was already quite full but after a five minute wait we were seated. The waitress came and promptly took our order, but unfortunately the service went downhill from there. There were two waitresses there and we unfortunately got one who seemed a lot less attentive than the other (the older woman who was the second waitress seemed to really pay attention to her tables, ours unfortunately did not).

We placed our order (usual pizza and pasta) plus drinks. 15 minutes passed and we still hadn't received out drinks so had to ask for them. Our food arrived shortly there after but we had no cutlery what so ever. She brought us our cutlery but instead of placing it on napkins she threw everything Into the middle of the table so we placed it ourselves, but there were no napkins - we got up and got this ourselves. She was completely oblivious to this and just went about her own business. The saving grace was of course the food which was excellent - pizza had more than enough toppings and was cooked just right. The pastas were rich with plenty of cheese and portion sizes which are quite large ( we had leftovers for the next day). The chef is an extremely friendly woman who took pride in her work and wanted to make sure that the food was to our liking and that we were happy. Our only complaint as mentioned earlier was the poor service - the food definitely makes up for it but I wish they would train their staff a bit better (but take out is always an option ). I would give it a five if it weren't for the service.

Also don't go here expecting a fancy or svelte atmosphere - it's an older restaurant but the food is well worth it.

OM NOM NOM!. I don't know which Aaron's location these nay say-ers are eating at or from, but first time, delivery I am more than pleased. I looked at the reviews after my husband ordered and told him to watch out for this and that based on the negate reviews, but we got our food on time, burnt my mouth hot! We got the family special because we always want leftovers for lunches, and I have to say I will NOT be throwing these out. 40$ for so much food I can't even begin. I've had family specials before from other places and between the two of us have maybe a few slices left over for lunch. Not this time. We will most definitely be ordering from here again. This could easily be our new pizza go to.

I WOULD NEVER SUGGEST ANYONE TO EAT AT AARONS. We have ate there twice and would never suggest anyone to EVER eat there. Once was a couple years ago and then the other day. The food has no flavor at all. I had the Fettucine Romana and my husband had the Seafood Penne. My husband barely at any of his meal and threw away the left overs. My meal tasted like it had been frozen then defrosted. The bell peppers were so watery. I had the Lasagna a couple years ago and that was gross. For people who love to eat there must not have taste buds and they must not know what good food it. This was far from good food. Never again will I eat there and do yourself a favor and not waste your money there. You would be better off eating at McDonalds.

This place was gross .. Lots of deli meat piled on. Meat wasn't cooked at all and was cold. Yuck

What - no decaf ?. A Sunday night and the restaurant was full - one lone server was run off her feet, but at least she was trying. Restaurant owners can't be bothered, apparently, to serve decaf coffee for those customers who can't drink the regular stuff. The food was good.

We have been ordering from Aaron's for years and it has always been excellent! Definitely some of the best food in Cloverdale/Langley! Family run, always the same servers who are always friendly & attentive! My husband & kids love the pizza and myself, I always get the lamb souvlaki which is always excellent! Highly recommend visiting Aaron's whether its take out or dine in, i've never been disappointed!!!

Dont get delivery. Ordered delivery after enjoying our meal when we sat it. Employee warned us it would be a 45 min wait. One hour later, our frigid cold food arrived. No apology, expected a tip and went on his way.

My favourite Italian/Greek food!. The food is amazing, generous portions and very reasonably priced. We eat here probably every month or two and we have never been disappointed in the food, no matter what we order. The lamb is always cooked perfectly. We've tried just about every pasta on the menu and each one is fantastic (I LOVE the marinara sauce.) The service can be a bit uneven, but whatever - for this food at this price, I can live with that, it's almost part of the quirky charm! If you hit a night when they are playing a mix of Sinatra music and Italian balads (at least I think that's what they are) you'll love that too. My only real peeve is that the wine is always just a bit too warm - decent wines, just not at the right temperature. That said, I still love this place for the excellent food, for the familia feel, and I will keep coming back here again and again!

NOT THE SAME!!. Been coming here for years 10+ and in the last couple of years things have gone from different to BAD!. The cooking has changed! The addicting Italian sauce that goes over the salad has changed! Used to taste awesome and now it taste like ranch mixed with dill pickle. Service is good with the regular waitresses that have been there for years, not sure what happened to them. The restaurant wasn't even that full and we had to wait A VERY LONG TIME for our food. Salad bar was right there and NOT SELF SERVE but our waitress had forgoten it and served it WITH OUR MEALS. We were told 20mins later that they had ran out of the special we ordered. If i do come back here again i will be ordering take out and stick to the regular stuff like pasta and pizza.

New Owners!. Now, too much dough on pizza with less toppings. Meat sauce has less meat and more cornstarch. Meatballs taste Indian. Pizza had dry fishy non-edible shrimp on my last order. Not the same place. I will not eat there again. Thanks for reading.

Cloverdale's Hidden Gem!. This Restaurant is a hidden gem in Cloverdale. The B-E-S-T Calamari I have ever had! Would recommend this place to anyone.
Yummmmm
Delicious Surprise. My group of friends and I meet at least 6 times a year to celebrate our birthdays, and have for years. We often try new places, and end up going back many times with family and other friends. One of our group (we call ourselves the Godesses lol) recommended this place, and we were pleasantly surprised once our food arrived. It is not beautiful from the outside, but nice enough inside. I had the seafood fettucine with rose sauce and it was delicious. Although it was a generous portion (esp. for the special price on a Tuesday or Wed. 8.99!) I couldn't stop eating until it was all gone! We all had pasta and everyone enjoyed it! Great service too. Will be back. By the way I have checked and compared the menu prices, and other similar restaurants in Surrey are priced higher for many or all items on their menus.

A slice of Montreal in Cloverdale. I was taking an epic (for my old legs, at least) 40-km bicycle ride through the farms, forests and suburban sprawl of rural south Surrey when I came across Aaron's. It was cool to find a place that's like an old-school Bronx sit-down pizzaria. The non-stop Sinatra songs on the restaurant's sound system made me think of NYC. But don't say "New York" to Manny, the gruff Greek guy who's the cornerstone this long-standing Cloverdale institution. I ordered a Montreal pizza, and half-jokingly asked the waitress what made it Montreal-ish, because there was no Montreal smoked meat on it. (It has cappicollo, pepperoni, mushrooms and onions --is that Bronx Italian or what?) She brought Manny over, and after giving me the stinkeye for my impertinence of asking him to justify his pizza's name, Manny informed me that he made pizzas in Montreal for decades, and those were the toppings that people there preferred. He also pointed to a big framed black-and-white photo on a back wall showing a young man making pizza and said that was him, in Montreal, in 1960. The guy's been putting out pies for almost as long as I've been alive, and I'm no fresh mozzarella.

Manny's staff knows their stuff. The combo of toppings, plentiful and perfectly cooked -- even the heat-softened onion chunks -- were hidden under a thick blanket of top-browned mozzarella so they didn't get dried out. The pizza was spicy enough that I didn't need to put hot pepper flakes on it, and I LOVE hot pepper flakes. The crust was puffy but not doughy, with a crispy oiled sheen to the outermost layer like Pizza Hut crusts have. I started with a Caesar salad, a pretty simple version of this classic with just chopped romaine, cheese shreds, excellent garlicky croutons and dressing. It was perfectly dressed, though, each bit of lettuce coated and tasty, but no excess runoff pooling on the plate. Adding a half-litre carafe of local wine -- something called "Domaine" whose soft, fruity flavour put me in mind of Italian dolcetto -- put my tab to $34.50, so Aaron's wasn't a cheap eat for one. But I'm willing to pay for quality, and it was nice to find some in a far-flung Canadian country town.

Went for dinner tonight and not only is the food phenomenal but the prices are too. My daughter ordered the roast lamb but our waitress said they were almost out, but we could have what they did have for half price. The plate arrived with a huge piece of roast lamb together with rice roast potatoes greek salad and pita with tzatziki all for $8!! Such good we ended bringing half of it home. I had the french onion soup a steak roasted potato and perfectly cooked, fresh green beans. Highly recommend Aarons!

Pasta Night. Order once a week, the pasta is always good. Alternate between the pasta and pizza...both are good, a little pricy but worth it.

Nice surprise. My husband and I popped in for some Greek food. We ordered the calamari appetizer and the chicken souvlaki. Both were excellent. The calamari was incredibly tender and melt-in-your-mouth yet had a crispy exterior. The chicken souvlaki was simply delicious. The marinade used was excellent. The pita bread was tasty - fluffy and doughy. I was a little surprised to see only one 1/2 of a potato - usually one full potato or more is provided. The only mediocre aspect was the Greek salad. There appeared to be too much basil - Greek salads typically use oregano. And I don't think they used olive oil. But otherwise, it was great. We will definitely be returning!

Pizza was delivered hot and on time even on a playoff night. Lots of toppings and cheese. Crust really good. Will definately order again.

Hostess fail. The food was a good price and tasted good, but when me and my friend walked in the older lady was rude to us, I wasn't impressed with her greeting of "what do you want?" as if we shouldn't be there.

Unexpected (good) surprise here.. Wasn't expecting much when I got there, but I was pleasantly surprised by what I found. The pizza was good, the ribs were flavourful, but what got my attention is the desserts. Always ask what they are because they're usually not posted (or they're on a chalkboard in the back). I've had creme brulee and a surprisingly large tiramisu. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

Delicious. I live in Cloverdale and this place is a real hidden gem! The place isnt much to look at from the outside, with an old sign and less than appealing storefront. However, the food is really what you go there for. Fresh ingredients, piping hot plates, and cheap prices.....One thing I do recommend is a reservation. I have been turned away more than once on a weeknight, so plan ahead to avoid disappointment.

My friend told me about Aaron's pizza probably almost a year ago, but I've rarely been in the area. It's just off the main street of downtown Cloverdale. I had tried to go here a few weeks before but they were closed off for a private function. My hope for this place would be kind of like a closer replacement for Anton's where I can get decent tasting pasta, and tons of it when I have a craving. On Tuesdays to Thursdays they have 9 dollar pastas. Aside from pasta they also serve greek food and of course pizzas. I started with the French onion soup which was pretty tasty. It was a very rich dark broth filled with tender strips of onions and topped with a slice of bread loaded with tons of cheese. A bit too salty but really tasty. It was good for being under $4. My friends ordered the seafood chowder and they loved it. A creamy chowder with mixed seafood, potatoes and carrots. They seriously enjoyed it a lot, and would go back there just for the seafood
