Probably the best sushi restaurant in B.C.
Price is very very affordable, authentic deco, and most importantly! very fresh.
I usually do not write a review but I was lucky to find out this place, and I would always go to Maguroguy for my sushi day. There are some waits but it just means that this place is very popular and usually busy so you can wait a bit and then you can enjoy their wonderful fresh sushi and kitchen food. My favorite is probably their new Set menu - you have to try them - and obviously their Trademark - Hot Stone Beef. Amazing!! Thumbs up!!
I like this place but it gets really busy. The only decent place in south surrey for sure. It's not very consistent but it's good and they have cool dishes.
Always a busy place. Despite this, the food is quite good and the service adequate. We've been there many times and they've always maintained a pretty good standard. The sashimi is always fresh and the sushi is delicious. Although it's not the best Japanese place in the area, it offers good value and I would definitely recommend it.
Stopped here without reading reviews. My usual go to sushi places in Surrey are Kami and Takas. I'll start off by saying I will go back. I was intrigued with some of the menu items. Ordered the black cod gyoza, Wasabi prawns and a plain Jane cali dynamite combo. I was happy with the food, portion sizes were good and flavor was enough for me to want to come back to try other things. The plain rolls were not as good as the other sushi places I visit so probably wouldn't order them again. The restaurant was clean and new and our service was good. Would recommend this place to friends.
Awesome Sushi. Bar none this is the best sushi restaurant in South Surrey. Their special rolls are always great, try the volcano roll or if you love bacon the baconage roll. Call ahead to make reservations on Friday or Saturday night so you don't have to wait :-)

Best Sushi and Japanese food in BC! Would say in Canada if had eaten sushi in other Canadian cities.... I always order the "chirashi don" aka chirashizushi which is essentially an aquarium over a bowl of rice (tuna, tuna belly, yellow fin tuna, salmon, snapper, tamago, seared tuna, octopus, squid, surf clam, pickled herring, delicious seaweed salad, refreshing daikon strings, lots of ginger and wasabi, and a huge pile of sushi rice with a special topping). NOTE: my photo does not show salmon because I ask the chef to sub it for tuna, but salmon is wild sockeye, NOT the Atlantic farmed kind. I hope I did not forget something... oh, yes, I did. Also, steamed tiger prawn. All for less than $15. If I were to get this dish in Vancouver, say Tojo, it would be $45 or more! More importantly, the fish is fresh, and I would know it because I am Japanese and my dad is a sushi chef :) Nope, this place beats my dad's homemade sushi for sure. I have read about this curt older server that seems to be spoiling the percentage for this restaurant. I have never been served by her, but if she were rude to me, I would still give this Maguroguy 100% and not leave her a tip :) Five stars on food. Love their spicy seafood noodles (huge breaded prawns, tender squid, and large scallops sizzling--veggies as well--in a red, creamy, red spicy sauce). Sit at the sushi bar if you can, service is guaranteed to be even better!
The best California Rolls around, made so fresh that the rice is still slightly warm. Prices should be higher than they charge!
MORE GUROGUY PLEASE!. This place is by far the best sushi restaurant south of the Fraser! Food is delicious, Sashimi served on Ice, flavour of all dishes is devine. The price is exceptional. Word has gotten out and they are often filled to capicity during dinner times. I even had to line up to get in on a Wednesday night. Well worth the wait. It is our "Go To" Sushi place and i have enever been dissapointed. Service is hit and miss, only because they are now sooooo busy. If you are looking for Sushi in south surrey, this is the place to go!
Food was not bad, but service?? Not sure.. There are 3waitress 1 waiter.They look like well but not good at all.. No sense at all..Sorry!!I like your food but I dont like your service!!
Best sushi around. Everywhere I go now is just a disappointment. Service isn't perfect but fish is amazing.
My Favorite Sushi in South Surrey. Maguroguy is our go-to place for sushi. My husband and I dine there about once each month, and we've always been very satisfied by how fresh and flavorful everything tastes.
I really love their spicy tuna rolls. They use nice, large chunks of tuna to fill the roll. They have a number of good combos and the prices are great.
Service can get a little slow when it's busy, but we've never had to wait more than 5 minutes to get a table, and when it's busy, we make sure to order when they bring out our tea - that way we get our food pretty quickly.
Best Sushi in South Surrey. Excellent menu, and very flavorful food. The only place we, and most of our friends go to for sushi now. I've only had wonderful service here, and the staff are always friendly and happy to see you.
Wicked place. Reminds me of izakaya downtown. Sushi is good. But I recommend getting a lot of appys. Or watch the tv showing everything on the menu before ordering.
Absolutely fantastic, every time! By far my favorite sushi place in the area to sit down and eat at. I always feel very welcome, the service is always great, and the food is to die for. Sometimes they'll even throw something new in on the house, which is great because generally they're not things that I would order. Haven't come across anything I didn't like on their menu yet! This restaurant is definitely a must try!!

A MUST-VISIT Restaurant!. I can't stop raving about this restaurant - the best Japanese place in the area. The food is always fresh and flavorful, the portions are generous, the prices reasonable and the service is excellent. There are several original dishes that were created by the owner, and I've yet find something I didn't like at Maguroguy.
I highly recommend this place for anyone who enjoys Japanese/Asian cuisine or would like to give it a try. The sushi master is very friendly, and pays very close attention to the quality of his dishes.
I will definitely be visiting Maguroguy again soon!
Maguroguy Sushi is a restaurant in south surrey that’s always busy. I’ve had takeouts from here many times, but never eaten in the actual restaurant until now. I brought a few friends here for dinner and it was a good thing that I made a reservation because there was a line out the door even on a week night. There were a lot of items on the menu. You’d probably need to dine here for a week straight to sample all of the items. I was in the mood of raw fish, so I ordered the salmon sashimi, a few nigiri sushi, and a spicy tuna cone. The fish here was fresh, I really enjoyed the sockeye salmon sashimi. The nigiri sushis were really nice as well, I liked the seared salmon nigiri the most. As for the cone, I really should have eaten that first because the seaweed was soggy and chewy by the time I got to it. I was looking for a crispy seaweed wrap.
