Review Fresgo Inn Restaurant & Bakery - Surrey

This place has been around for a long time. It's a great place for comfort food, large portions and reasonable prices. Great for families. They also have an in house bakery. Lots of seating as well. Pictures are of the burger special and a double mushroom burger.

This place is great. It’s a big diner with large food portions for fair prices. However, I don’t think you’ll find anything too healthy on the menu. MUST get is the mushroom burger but add extra patties. Have the mushrooms with the HP sauce. There is plenty of free parking and lots of indoor seating. It is like a cafeteria, so you line up and order right at the front and then came back to pick up or order when it’s ready. Do order gravy for your fries but if there are two or three of you, 1 order is enough. Best to know what you want to order before arriving so look at the menu ahead of time.

The fish burger did not have any taste except the bun. It smelled and tasted probably like cod that was in the freezer for sometime. Fries were good alongwith the pop from the machine. The only thing good was that the order came in pretty fast. I have tried the pizza earlier which was pretty good in taste as well. But this time it just lacked any flavor and specially for the amount you pay i could have had a decent burger nearby for less than what I paid.

This place is special to me because it gives me strong nostalgia of diners from the past. This diner has massive food portions, massive house made cakes and massive food selections. Everything is fresh made to order. I had the mushroom burger, meat pizza and poutine. The pizza was pretty decent for the type of crust and toppings were loaded on. The poutine was very good, nice amount of saltiness, cheese properly melted and decent fries that held its freshness. The mushroom burger was amazing, they loaded up the mushrooms and the patty was huge. Food was tasty, portions were large and price was a bargain. Absolutely nothing to complain about here. If you like old diners this place is a must try.

We picked up dinner to go tonight. The spaghetti and the schnitzel were generous portion sizes but the fish in the fish and chips were disapointingly small. The black forest cake was excellent

I've not been at Fesgo Inn since the 70's & early 80's when Walter and his famous Fresgo Inn was on Robson Street. Now, 2022 here with dad & D at the Surrey, BC location. Dad had the famous Mushroom Burger, D had the Breakfast Special and I had the Philly Steak Sandwich w/ Fries. We also got the famous Cheese Cake & Lemon Meringue Pie. All the deserts, 1/2 of Dads Mushroom Burger and my Philli Steak are for dinner tonight. Walter is still cooking and spoke with dad and myself. A happy trip down memory lane.

I was very pleasantly surprised when I walked into this restaurant today. 80s music playing, cute neon signs and all the retro vibe! I really loved the atmosphere here because it felt comforting. The food was massive in portions and overall satisfying. (I found the foods to be bland but I guess that's why they have salt shakers on every table 😅) The cheese cake for dessert was very light and creamy, it's definitely worth a try! I would definitely visit this place a lot more. My new favorite restaurant 😍

I loved the restaurant and the food. They provide value for your meal. It is a nice experience. I hadn’t known about this restaurant until recently and i loved everything about it.

Ever since I was first shown the place, it has been my favourite restaurant in Surrey. The portions can be pricy, but for a good reason. The ridiculous amount of food you get is astounding, and if you aren't a big eater, you're guaranteed to have a sizable snack for later. A suggestion: if you enjoy mushroom Swiss burgers, get one here. Probably the best one I've ever had. Honestly? I love bringing people here who've never even heard of the place. This place deserves more recognition.

False Advertising ... We went here for dinner tonight and on their menu board it shows that all breakfasts come with hashbrowns and toast... I ordered the waffle and it didn’t come with anything. And they refused to add on the hashbrowns and toast once confronted, even after I pointed to their menu board that’s hanging for everyone to see that says ALL breakfasts include the other items. Poor staff service. � this place used to be good .. Everyone else at my table complained about their meals as well. Farewell Fresgo!

With fresh baked food & generously portioned dishes full of flavor, hi chairs for babes & great music , even though it's cafeteria style the ambience is calm and Always a daily newspaper. The staff are charmed to see family

Omg. So much food. There was enough to bring home for another meal. The place was packed with lineups outside the door

Sometimes it's great when nothing changes. 35 years of going to Fresgoe's at least once a month and except for a few cosmetic updates nothing has changed. The menu provides every kind of comfort food you could dream up and some of the dishes would put your mother's specialties in second place. The portions are huge. The prices are great. Don't expect luxury. Just be prepared to loosen your belt and push your chair back from the table a few inches.

I have been going to fresgo since I was a kid so a least 25 yrs. we make the trip from Langley once or twice a year. Well today we ventured out again have always enjoyed the food but today was a MAJOR disappoint last time we were there the fries were not as good as they had been but today was horrible I have never complained to management before so today was a first. I had fried chicken that was old tasting and the fries were soggy and gravy tasted off and cold slaw looked days old total disappointment. My husband had the calamari dinner the salad was good but calamari was white when deep fried. Yes I realize they used corn starch but it should not be white. We will not be returning have always looked past the restaurant being dirty and old cause food was always awesome such a shame to see it go this way after watching the owner work so hard!!! Farewell Fresgo it was nice....

You really get ur bang for ur buck.. unless u are a huge eater most meals can be shared or taken home when you do not finish the whole meal. Everything down to the bread is made in house. Walter even butchers some of his own meat tgat is served..I ha r worked tgere and eaten there for 30 plus yrs will always go back..

We have a group of friends that get together to celebrate each other’s birthday. The Birthday girl gets to pick the restaurant .... I picked Fresno’s AGAIN .... lol .... had to be prime rib ... was a wonderful dinner ... and your cheesecake is out of this world ....

Great place, they will accommodate of what you want in your meal, without hesitation. Very friendly staff.

It's been over 30 years since I've been here to eat, no disappointments, same great food at a very reasonable price.... would highly recommend this Surrey landmark!!

I come in for a meal once in a while and always leave full and with food left over. The staff is friendly and the owner is a great guy.

Burger was amazing and full filling except fries werent that great and also the drink was watered down

So delish. Always a great big plate. I had my favourite chicken caesar. My husband had salisbury steak. My son had cheese pizza. :-)

i used to frequent the Fresgos on Davie st in Vancouver, and now this one. food is good, portions are large, and pricing is very fair. it's not a fancy place, but rather has an early 80's feeling to it. if you are expecting to be catered to, and pampered, i suggest go elsewhere, and pay for that service. if you are hungry, this is the place :)
