Review Planet India Restaurent - Surrey

Ordered online for a takeout and was charged 10% tip automatically like 3 items like wth? When asked the restaurant to cancel the tip, they informed that the website charges it and they cannot do anything about it. Anyway, the food was just below average. The chilli chicken has sweet flavour and the Baigan Bhartha was so salty with tons of turmeric yuck! It was such a waste of time and money! Better stay off this place. Never ever going back!

Excellent food and service! I tried curried goat for the first time and it was fantastic. The taxi driver recommended this place and I’m so glad he did.

Good food but rude staff. They think that they are King and giving free meal. A girl on counter who looked like she ate some lipstick 💄 kept talking on phone while I was asking how much time it will take preparing food.after that she started like barking at me.Very rude. It didn’t look like they are working there but seemed to making gratitude for selling Samosa. When she asked me for take out or dine in, she started Ill behaviour with me . I suggest people never buy food from there if you not want to get insulted

I love the food at Planet India. It's my go-to for take-out Indian. I find many restaurants lack in creating an authentic flavour but the taste at Plane India is of home-made quality. I've tried both veg and non-veg food items. Highly recommend!

I went to restaurant to have some Indian delicacies but unfortunately the food was pathetic. The service was too slow and when I have asked the server that I want to talk to manager or supervisor then she start giving excuses that the manager is not available or right now busy. Total waste for money.

The food was yummy however the service was very poor. The lamb curry and chicken tikka masala are flavourful choices. I would rate it 4/5 for take out and 3/5 for dine-in.

One of the worst experiences ever at this restaurant. I wish I could give it a zero if possible. I have been going to this restaurant for many years and ever since the pandemic happened there quality has been going down and down. The rotis weren’t even cooked properly literally you could see the flour. On top of that one of their dishes had a hair strand in it and I just lost my appetite looking at that. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS RESTAURANT AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

This restaurant is a place to eat from. I have to have everything made in a mild sauce and they are happy to make my order the way I can eat it. The staff are friendly and want you to enjoy your meal

Delicious saag curry! There was so much flavor in every bite.

Look forward to going back for more. The servers were enthusiastic and friendly.

Was invited to a party hosted in their party hall, it was really pleasant. Food was exceptional, and I had a lot of fun getting to dance after! Will come back to eat at the main restaurant!

I had really great service by the staff. Sanjeev was friendly, attentive and kind. The girls and hostess were warm and welcoming when we walked in. The food was incredible, fresh, timely and great seasonings. Has a lot of vegetarian options, and dairy free options too.

My wife and I have been to this place many times due to tasty indian food. But with my latest two visits I have experienced extremely poor service. Yesterday ( it was a working day and restaurant was not busy) I was served appetiser with in 10 minutes. After we finished appetiser, and order for the main dish, took them 50 minutes to bring. Only one server and unknown position of Cook, it was a poor show. Also their portions are now much reduced. I think they should try to maintain standard.

Realllyyy good place for indian food and the atmosphere and decor has improved after a recent renovation. Taken many of my friends here and are all really impressed especially with the food. Ive come here occasionally for the past few years and i can confirm that the service has really improved along with the wait times being reduced for take out and dine in on busy days. My picks for meat-eaters are the chicken tikka/chicken tikka masala/ or the classic butter chicken( my friends agree it is the best in Surrey). For veggie go with dahl mahkini or chana masala with a bhutura. Garlic naans are bomb here trust me - real garlic none of that processed stuff.

All in all give it a chance and you'll be sure to become a regular soon enough :)

My wife and I have been to this location a few times and it is a favourite. The staff are friendly and personable. The food is wonderful. I recommend it.

Didn't like the service. The server was slow, forgot what we ordered, SMALL PORTIONS AND HIGH PRICE. There are better indian restaurants in Surrey. It was noisy, the set up isn't great each time someone entered we were freezing and we weren't even sitting next to the main door.

Very good food, I had the chicken korma and my husband had the fish masala. The korma was nice and creamy. We also had rice pillau and naan. All the food was very filling. Our server was very palite and checked on us frequently. Only downer was the wait, however they also were busy with alot of take out orders. Will be back for sure.

I've only had take out but the food is great. The goat saag is excellent and creamy. the lamb curry had a bit too much tomato base for my liking but that might just be my preference. Ordered it spicy and it was actually spicy! I find that other restaurants are pretty tame on their spice levels so it was much appreciated.

Came here over the weekend and usually I don't write review but I thought I should share my experiences here and offer some tips/advice.

The food is outstanding, easily the best I've had in Surrey and really makes a lasting impression when I introduce people. My order usually includes one of the following: Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka (marinated Chunks of chicken breast which is a great appetiser), Channa Masala or Dahl Makhani for the vegetarian option, and garlic naans. If you just pick from those above you'll get a flawless meal for a first experience.

Main advice is DONT come here for your first time during busy times such as holidays because you are going to get a long wait time based on how the food is prepared here.

All in all I have taken the majority of my friends and business associates to eat here at least once and they've all really enjoyed it. Good luck and take heed of my advice.

I just had the worst experience at Planet India. I went for lunch with my friend. Advised the server I had Celiac Disease and asked if I could have certain dishes. My friend was going to take my Naan bread and I was going to take her rice as they are gluten free. Server came out with the food all on one tray with the naan touching my dish and my friends rice on her plate with her naan on it. Server told me I can scoop it out as they don't do that for people and put it on separate plates then proceeded to tell me because I have Celiac Disease they shouldn't be serving me and its not their problem I have this "allergy" . I said we are leaving and she said fine. Instead of fixing the problem, which was her mistake, she argued with us. I told her word of mouth goes a long way!!!! NEVER AGAIN STAY AWAY FROM PLANET INDIA . I would never allow my employees to treat my customers in this manner.

We got takeout from here last week. The lady who answered the phone was so friendly and cheerful. Was not expecting that at all lol.
We ordered garlic naan, chaana masala, butter chicken, and the planet appetizer platter. The total came to $47. There was only two of us but there turned out to be enough food for 3-4 ppl.
The butter chicken was pretty good. A bit creamier than I like but still tasty
The chaana masala was delicious and packed with flavor. Unfortunately it was also packed with oil
The planet platter included fish pakora, chicken pakora, veggie pakora, chicken wings, chicken skewers and lamb skewers. The fish pakora was soooo good omg. Super tender and flaky. The chicken pakora was also tender breast meat chunks-very yummy. The veggie pakora was not good. They were dry and seemed old and reheated. The chicken wings were delicious. The chicken and lamb skewers were seasoned well but too dry.
We will def come back for the fish and chicken pakora. And to try out more of their curry dishes. I like that they are generous with the heat and seasonings of their dishes

Planet India was highly recommended to us by a friend. This place did not disappoint! We ordered HOT for all our dishes, Lamb Korma and Saag. Thankfully we also ordered a side of raita to cool down our palette! The portions were generous and the service was good.

I Dont Understand. I cant believe how stupid that review sounds "never go there" that doesnt even make sense, let only happen to someone. Seeing as how you created your ENTIRE account and username to discredit one specific restaurant is comical and absurd. Now, i myself have only ordered there once and found the food very good but service a bit unpredictable. So shame on you "never go there" for slandering a restaurant that i suspect is your competitor.
Never Go There
Very very bad service. Terrible management not to mention the food, went there and they forgot some items that were supposed to be in the dish, how that happens is beyond me, I was told they would credit me for the next time...when the next time came they said there was not any record of the credit and they would give me 1 dollar off my purchase, the front staff girl spoke with the manager, when I asked to speak to him he apparently disappeared to Punjab India!! Never will I go back to this place not recommended at all, go for a drive to white rock to little India on the strip better food and excellent service!!

I'm a super foodie and just started to review places on urbanspoon.
This Indian place has more bread selection than most and offer much more than just your average naan.
If you're a carb lover like myself with great curry, this is the place.
The service was a bit soso as I had to wait a bit between the servers "checking in" on us but overall was a great food experience.

Dressing it up doesn't make it TRUE. I have been went there by mistake. The price of Dishes Quite high but the quality & taste of food is horrible like junk.. even children can better cook .. WTH

... plain naan. They make the best! And of course the rice. Usually, at other places, all their main dishes come with rice but here, you have to order it separately. And to be honest, it’s not that great. I prefer white rice (still long-grain though) but the spices in this one is too much for me. Price: $50 for all the food and 2 beers
