Review Texx Big Burger - Surrey

Been there a couple of times now. This burger joint is only designed for those who are serious about eating a good burger. But you think the burger from one of the fast food places like McDonald's Burger King etc are good, the burgers here you will find our exceptional. The young man who cooks the burgers very nice, the young lady who takes her order is also very nice. Not only the service is exceptional but the food is as well. Highly recommend you trying TEXX burgers, on Surrey!

Wow one of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time. We dined in and tried the single Texx mixed burger and it definitely lived up to all the hype! Huge portions and fries were nice and crispy. A little on the pricier side but you can definitely taste the quality it was well worth it. Came hungry left happy :) Must try!

There is no other rate possible for this place. Simply the best burger restaurant I've ever been in my life. The vegetarian option is unbelievable good and their fries are crispy on the outside and soft inside. Also, their sizes are huge. A regular size fries can serve 4 people easy. And their small gravy sauce is big. The Romanian that took our order was really friendly. Definitely coming back to this place. 😄

By far the best burger in Surrey. Best I've had in the lower mainland but I haven't tried them all so I have to be honest. The owner is such a hospitable guy too. The burgers are priced super well considering how much meat is in there and he does a great lettuce wrapped burger if that's your preference.

Good burger place with many options.the burgers are huge and filling ! I would recommend for anyone looking for a specialty burger in the central Surrey.I had the chicken burger which was so big and Tasty.I have a picture of the burger in the photos and you can see how big it is .one con is the high price you are going to pay !

Ordered Single Crispy Chicken Burger and Tex Chicken Burger with a regular poutine. The burgers were big and tasted great. Poutine was full with gravy and cheese curds too which tasted well. It was customised well as per our request. It was a good experience given our first time here. The only issue we felt was the chicken wasn't as crispy as we thought it might be and the packaging needs to be taken care of too. It was poorly done and the foil was just not enough to hold it all. It is surely recommended.

Ordered burgers and fries. The fries are full of oil and looked like they were sitting out for a week and the burgers were cold. Update: to the owner responding, I did complain to skip and I hope that feedback reached you too. I would love to have gotten what I expected the first time. Don't know if you guys were having a busy day or short staffed, I've had your food before and was satisfied which is why I reordered. The quality was so bad which lead to my review.

From the first bite, to the last one (3 days later), one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. Staff was very courteous, would defineatly order again the next time I'm in town. 👍

Food was great but the staff were pretty rude, they didn't say a word except for a half-assed thank you which made me feel like I was more of a hassle than a customer

The burgers and fries are AWESOME!! But some of the front staff are rude, today she key in my order incorrectly and she gave a LOOK and said I ordered the wrong burger???!!!! <br/>

The hamburgers here are delicious. The meat patties are so tasty and the hamburger buns are just the right size and always fresh. Fries are excellent.

Lookin for an American style burger joint, but don't want to head down south? Check out Texx, we'd vote it as Surrey's best burger. This place keeps us coming back for more, however we haven't been brave enough to attempt the challenge.

I had the double hamburger. I was really interested in the challenge to eat 3lb burger for a $200 prize, but it had to be done in 6m14s. Burger was great btw. Fries...meh.

Can't tell you the last time I had a hamburger but the craving took me. I'm not too interested in the chains although I admit that Five Guys is pretty good. This was even better! I had a single with bacon and cheese and too many toppings such that my pics of it are unpostable (you check of your toppings on an order sheet). Mushrooms are one of the free toppings which is unusual. Hand made burger patty like you might make at home. Excellent! Fries were the meaty hand cut kind and also very good and too many to an order! Felt a little bad about not eating them all. There is a burger challenge; eat a Super Texx in 30 minutes (3 10 oz patties) and win some stuff (and feel ashamed of yourself). There are some pics on the wall of those who were successful and a wall of pics of those who failed. The soda machine does not have the usual Coke/Pepsi stuff...sorry can't remember the brand but the cola was excellent. Labelled as "Draft Cola". My burger, fries, and cola came to almost $15. So not cheap, but life is too short for horrible fast food. Eat fewer burgers but eat them here!

Fun and casual atmosphere. Unique picture wall design. Amazing burgers and huge portions of fries taste very great. The burgers competition is a special activity in the shops. Winners will get prizes. 😊😊😊😊

Not too impressed. I ordered a regular burger, they made it the way I wanted with the fixings I wanted, all is great and dandy. Where they fell short was the burger was stone cold. I figure they precook the patty, put it on the grill for 2 seconds then put the burger together. When I mentioned it to my husband, he thought about it and agreed and said the only thing remotely hot was the warm sautéed onions that he had put on his burger. He also had bacon on his burger and it looked under cooked and no where close to crispy. They offer a breaded chicken burger, there is no option for a grilled chicken breast or anything like this. Will not return.

Just had food from here last night. I got the double bacon burger and small fries. I would have gotten the double bacon cheeseburger, but they use processed cheese, and that's not my jam. The girl at the front counter was super helpful and made sure I ordered exactly what I wanted. They offer sautéed mushrooms and onions as free toppings, which you will pay extra for anywhere else. I have to say, one of the best burgers I've ever had. I would have preferred the bacon cooked more, but was still delicious. The burger fit the bun, which is always a nice feature. I hate when the burger is half the size of the bun. The fries were delicious. I should mention, a small fries is enough for 3 people. I pad $17 after tip and I had 2 full meals out of it. Was so delicious. If you're looking for a nice home style burger and home cut fries, this is a great place to go.

So I've been here several times and am always happy. The burgers are pretty good, not great but good. The fries are pretty awesome. They have a unique selection of fountain pop such as Jones orange soda. The portions however go from regular, to huge, to Texas huge, to absolutely ginormous! Come here and I can practically guarantee you'll leave stuffed like a thanksgiving turkey.

My go-to burger place. Good quality burgers, and I love their fries (thick, firm/not mushy, and crispy on the edges). However, I tried the chicken strips and found that they were small and not seasoned enough. Friendly service!

I got the texx big burger, total 15oz of fresh beef! It was $13 but so worth it! Three patties cooked just the way i like them still a bit pink in the middle, tastes a bit like in & out burger but higher quality and about four times bigger! Soooooo good! Gonna be a regular stop now. Wife got halibut burger and says it was fantastic also. I didnt see the place, she says it looks like a hole in the wall. I just love these kinds of places, definitely going again soon!

Third time at Texx Burger and I have not been disappointed. Generous servings and a reasonable price. The double bacon cheese with mushrooms is the way to go! Introduced a couple friends to Texx and both loved it. Service is good. Food is excellent. Don't go for the ambiance because there isn't any 😜

Similair to five guys in the aspect of choosing toppings along with similar french fries. What stands out about this place is its massive portions and their burger challenge. Had the "Single Texx Mix" which was very filling but still enjoyable. A regular sized fries seemed like a large or even an extra large. What I liked about the Single Texx Mix is how crispy the chicken breast was and how juicy and thick the beef patty was. Much better than your average fast food chain.

this is easily one of the biggest and best burgers around. anywhere. great meat that is bigger than the bun. everything about this burger is great. go there.

The big deal about Texx Big Burger is the range of sizes of the burgers and the huge amount of fries that you get. Yes you can get pay for a humongous $38 burger with the hopes of securing the $200 prize if you can eat that and all the fries in less than 7 minutes. That money should help to defray the associated emergency room costs for relief resulting from gulping down such a meal in a very short period of time. 😀<br/><br/>At any rate, a lot of hype about the sizes but the taste isn't quite what I had expected. Okay, but no need to return anytime soon. <br/>

Texx Big Burger is one of if not the best burger I've ever had. They have a fair selection of excellent toppings. My personal favorite is there red relish. It's a must try. And the family that works there are so nice. A regular fries is enough to feed a small army. My fiance and I cannot finish them. But they are fresh cut to order and o so tasty.

Huge Buger, Huge Order of fries. Great tasting. So good, glad it's not closer to Langley City otherwise would be there weekly. not the coziest place, but who want to hang out at a burger joint all day.

Came here because we heard about the challenge.. eat a pound of fries and a huge burger under 30 minutes! We ordered a bacon cheeseburger with a pound of fries. Fries are good-real potatoes! Burger was a little under seasoned but loaded with toppings.

Wow, if you're looking for a burger joint, this is it! It's located in the middle of a small strip mall and worth finding. You fill out a checklist of what you want & that's it. Burger is awesome & the regular fries are great and you get more than enough. Also they have photos on the walls of whoever tries to eat there super texx burger & texx fries in under 30 minutes.

Best burger in Surrey and probably my favourite in the lower mainland too. These are just honest american burgers- similar to five guys but better. Fries are served the same way, a small is a huge portion in a bag!<br/>

A great local burger place. Very similar to 5 guys in the way they serve their food and pricing but better in quality. Burgers were very nice. Of ourselves we had the bacon/cheese double burger. A bit greasy but it depends on what you add to your burger. Nice that they have a little bit of variety on their menu. We didn't try the fish or the chicken burger but they did look good. Fries thrown on top of the burgers just like the other guys but they were good and hot.

I went here once because I heard about their big burger challenge. 2 pounds of beef all the fixings and fries, if you finish in less than 30mins the meal is free.  I took one look at the thing and ordered a bacon burger instead and it was great. Friendly informative staff helped me make the right decision for me and it was affordable too. I fully intend to go back and try the challenge when my tummy is feeling empty.

One of the best local Burger places I've ever been too. Greasy, delicious burgers that come in all sizes and types depending on how hungry you are. You decide all the toppings and sides and can even go for the Super Texx burger challenge and get your picture put up inside the store. Don't go if you're looking for them to hand-hold you through the whole thing. Go in, order what you want, and eat it. It's that simple. It's not the Keg. They're not gonna keep asking you how you're doing or whether you've "finished for the evening". They'll just give you the food and you can do with it what you want.<br/><br/>.5 off for not serving enough fried chicken.

Rude. I went there and asked if they possibly have birthday specials which anybody would do and in front of people said what do you want a birthday gift laughed and then walked to the back. Im sorry for asking but thanks for being rude to me and making me feel like crap on my birthday. As good as the food as I would expect a more professional staff. wont be going there again

Best burger in surrey. I always go come to this restaurant their burgers are really big and tastey they make everyone on the spot so everything is fresh.. i highly recommend this place

Best in metro vancouver. Best and biggest burgers anywhere. Just back from San Fran, tried in and out, custom built and they don't come close to tex big burger.

Awesome. I've been to a lot of burger joints in a lot of cities and this is definitely in my top 5 (and I've only been twice so far). <br/><br/>The burgers were juicy and tasty. The fries were done perfectly. The service, both times, was friendly and helpful. And, for the amount of food you get, the price is right. <br/><br/>This is going to be one of my regular spots from now on.

I've seen this place a few times, and finally decided to try it. I took my dad there for lunch. <br/><br/>He ordered a single burger, and I ordered a double bacon burger.<br/><br/>The guy that took our order told us that the burgers come with a list of possible condiments, and there was plenty of everything so if I wanted extra of something that wasn't a problem, but it would be quite a lot.<br/>I like a little bit of extra mayonnaise on my burger, and while I would normally order that, I didn't this time because of what he said. <br/><br/>So, we get our burgers and a small side of fries to share. Even though we were dining in, they put it all in take-out bags. <br/>His burger was in one bag, and my burger and the fries were in the second. The fries were basically just dumped on top of the burger in the bag.<br/><br/>Don't expect to get any kind of a plate in this restaurant. When I asked for one for the fries, I was told to just tear the bag apart and put the fries on the bag. <br/><br/>Okay. Not a huge deal.<br/><br/>The burgers were decent, but certainly not some unbelievable deal, or something that I would drool over.<br/>The abundance of condiments that were supposed to be on there were actually kind of skimpy. I'd gotten through about two thirds of the burger, and there wasn't much left in the way of mayo or relish or ketchup on my burger and so it was a little bit dry going down. I wish I would've asked for a little bit of extra mayo.<br/><br/>Would I go back again? Maybe. I guess I expected really good things of this place, and while it turned out to be a little bit different than other burger places it certainly wasn't exceptional. It's not really close to where I live, and I certainly wouldn't take my dad back there as I was a little bit embarrassed for him. <br/><br/>Here's a tip for anyone who owns a business, particularly a restaurant. <br/>Please ask your kitchen staff to wear clothes that fit properly. When you are sitting at a table, and you are facing the direction of the kitchen, it's not very appetizing to constantly have in front of you a view that includes a cook who is wearing a pair of pants that are noticeably two or three sizes too small, with a big pair of thong underwear sticking up out of those pants for all the world to see. Extremely unappetizing, and actually kind of trailer park.<br/><br/>I guess you get dinner and a show there.<br/>:-)

Best Burger in town. The burgers are delicious, huge portions and well worth the price. The meat is juicy the bun is perfect and lots of toppings to choose from. The staff is friendly and helpful. "you gotta eat here" they also have a food challenge $ 30 burger free if you can eat it under 11 min.

Try it you'll like it. This burger joint is my new favorite eatery and like everyone says the food portions are huge and the food is tastey. Like my title says "try it you'll like it" and depending on what burger you order (I ordered the 1 pounder and small fries) you just might need an Alka-seltzer. mmm.

Holy moly, all the reviews are true! These were the BIGGEST, most delicious burgers we've ever had. We got the single bacon cheeseburger, and you might want to watch out how many toppings you put on it because it's already so big that the toppings make it fall apart. We also got fries on the side, one order is definitely enough for 2 people to share, as we ended up bringing one side home and sharing it between 3 people. Best fries around, for sure. I can honestly say that we've found our new favorite burger joint!

Great Burger. Heard a lot about this place so I decided to visit with my brother-in-law. You're not going here for the ambiance that's for sure, but boy were the burgers amazing, and the fries even better. We both ordered the bacon double cheese and the beef flavour shined right through. The fresh cut fries were cooked just how I like them, super crispy on the outside and pillowy soft in the middle. <br/><br/>Can't wait to go back.

Omg Love This Place. Not much I can add about this place which has not been said before. The portions are huge everything is fresh and the fries are the best I have ever had. Place even has some off brand fountain pops and they are good loved the strawberry cream pop on tap.

I really love this place ..they have Good customer service. Awesome fresh burgers and fries and also freindly staffs.My favourite is the Single texx mix , which is one crispy chicken breast and one beef patty plus bacon and cheese.

This place makes the best burgers in metro vancouver by far .. Don't belive me go there and try it out you will never eat anywhere else thus place should be everywhere to bad that is only one of it

Texx Big Burger I have to say is by far the best burger around, Sometimes can be messy but it just adds character to it. The staff and Owner are just great, never disappoint me.The quality and quantity of the food they serve you is definatly satisfying.Cant think of anything bad to say about the place if you haven't already tried it out I suggest you go and try!

So glad we stopped. Today is a very hot day, so we decided to go out for an air conditioned ride. We were only in the care 20 mins when I saw Texx Burger, and remembered I wanted to try them out. So we hung a Uy and in we went. The man who greeted us was so friendly and showed us the ropes. I got the single cheese burger. Lots of toppings, he told us all fresh! rainbowcrab had the single cheese burger, we both got fries. <br/>When we bit into the burger we both needed a moment, wow it was great!! Everything about it was great, I really loved the bun. I would just suggest to others one small fries is good for 2 people. <br/>Everyone there so friendly and nice. We will go back for use!

Good beef patty. I went to a movie and afterward my friend suggested we go to Texx Big Burger. I wasn't even hungry since I had just consumed my own bodyweight in popcorn, but my unyielding love of burgers prompted me to say yes. We went there and I was impressed. It's a burger joint. No frills. Not fancy. You go there for burgers! Don't take a date, unless she's awesome. Like I said, I wasn't hungry, so I had the double burger and some fries. I was a big double! Again, I was impressed! My friend got a single burger but he chose to get them to drown it in condiments. I hate that stuff... No condiments for me, but I did choose lettuce, tomatoes, fried onions, and mushrooms (no extra charge). That way I could taste the meat. It was great! Good, good meat nicely cooked on the griddle. I believe it may be the best burger around and I will go back. I recommend this to anyone who really loves burgers.

Overrated. The quality of the hamburger meat here was average at best, and some of our burgers were not cooked all the way through, giving them a bit of a funky taste. The bun was also stale, but this was not as big of an issue as the meat. Based on the urban spoon rating of 93%, I expected a higher quality burger, so I was definitely disappointed. After eating here, I believe the only possible reason this restaurant is rated so high is only because the prices are cheap.

Almost Famous. This was a very good burger, but I did find it flawed in two ways.<br/><br/>First, the meat was a little overcooked for my liking. It was still flavourful, and the grease and my selected sauces kept it moist, but it was definitely well-done. This was a little disappointing. In the future, I would request the patties be cooked a minute or two less.<br/><br/>The second problem was that I found the bun to be possibly verging on stale. The heft of the burger and generous application of toppings requires a firm bun, and the Texx Burger folks have selected an appropriately dense one, but I did not enjoy its texture. <br/><br/>Now that I am done nitpicking, I will say that despite being slightly overcooked, the patties were very tasty, the toppings were fresh and liberally applied, and the burger as a whole was constructed well and thoughtfully. Its two-fisted sloppiness should be considered an asset rather than a liability.

Damned Good Burger. Come Hungry! This is a truly satisfying, unpretentious Burger experience!

Best Burger I've Had in Years!. Hubster and I were in the wilds of Surrey a few weeks ago and we stopped in at Texx Big Burger for a mid afternoon/late lunch. We each had a bacon cheeseburger, and shared an order of fries. The fries were some of the best that we've tasted in the Lower Mainland...in fact they were the best. Home made with Kennebec potatoes, in the cleanest oil, they were amazing. We're from "down east", and we've really struggled to find excellent quality fries, but at Texx, they're doing fries right. <br/><br/>Burgers come with a choice of free toppings, one gets a little sheet of paper and just checks off the desired toppings. Did I mention that toppings are free? Unlike Vera's, where they ding you for almost everything. But I digress.<br/><br/>Fresh hamburger, fried on a flattop grill, (better than char-broiled, in my opinion), loads of bacon, cheese, all on a large, fresh bun. Best burger I've had in these parts, ever. (I can't say best burger I've had in my life, because I'm a Winnipeger, and no one makes a burger like the Winnipeg greasy spoons, sorry.) <br/><br/>The restaurant is clean and bright, and the washroom is clean. The couple working (the owners) were friendly, and the service was great. I highly recommend Texx Big Burger, it's an independent restaurant, and it deserves to thrive....no chain is making burgers and fries this authentic and of such high quality. Looking forward to our next visit for sure!

Wow i dont care what anybody says in order to know how good this place is you got to try it ..i went there last week and i was verry impresed with the burgers.. and the fries are by far the best in vancouver they cut it right in front of you and for oil they use ztf the best oil for this ...and the meat is fresh and when i asked i was told is 86% lean this is a must try burger joint .....

BEST BURGER AROUND. My family and i have been to texx big burger many of times.. my children beg to go there.... there burgers are the BEST!!!!!!! you get so much french fries, and the burgers are to die for!!!! you order your burger then you get any amount of toppings of no extra charge, you can add as many as you want , and when you bite into this burger it is good!!!! then it comes to the fries fresh cut fries as you order, the amount of fries you get is amazing....the customer service is so friendly, the wife that works there is new to this country and is trying so hard on working on her english.... adn the husband is loud and fun!!! lets just say hes like the burger nazzi.....this is a definate place that i will continue to go to, and tell my friends about....

Burgers are great and so are the fries and my wife loved it too. She probably would not eat there though if she saw how small and grungy the place was

I have tried many of the menu items and love the number 13 Bacon and Cheese Burger 5 oz. of pure fresh beef.<br/>Now add raw onions EXTRA that is mustard and mayo and I am in burger heaven. Every week and sometimes 2 or 3 times a week. A must try if you have never been here. Good prices.<br/>They have a TEXX Burger three (3) 5 oz patties, now that's a mouthful.

Great burger joint. As a wise man once said "Hamburgers! The cornerstone of any nutritious breakfast". Every time i drove by I thought to myself "I hear they got some tasty burgers. I ain't never had one myself. How are they?" I was out this weekend and had to stop by. Being an meatatarian from Texas the name alone appealed to me. Customer service wasn't that great. Probably didn't help it was near closing time on a Sunday. I tried to chat up the two people working but they didn't seem much interested. Overall the service wasn't great. When I say that I mean specifically they weren't overly friendly or talkative. However, the order placement and the food delivery was fairly quick and painless. <br/><br/>Noone has mentioned yet, but we saw them literally cut the potatoes in front of us before going into the fryer. That's a good sign. I got the Double Bacon Cheese. I was tempted with the big Texx but I'm trying to watch my weight....< >.> The buns we great, the ingredients were spot on. Both my wife and I were truly impressed with the burger and the fries (not to mention the amazing amount of fries). The junior burger with fries was only about $6 the bacon double with fries and a pop were around the $12-13 mark. Oh and most importantly they have Dr. Pepper in their fountain dispenser, a huge bonus in my books. <br/><br/>I left the restaurant with a single quote in mind. "Well, if you like burgers give 'em a try sometime. I can't usually get 'em myself because my girlfriend's a vegitarian which pretty much makes me a vegitarian. Very good burgers. I tried Texx last weekend with my daughter. The bacon cheeseburger was very good, better than Vera's and the staff was very friendly and generous. We order a small fries and they gave us a full cup plus enough fries spilled into the bottom of the bag to fill the cup again. I prefer this place ahead of Fat Burger, Macdonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, A&W, DQ, White Spot.

We waited for over a year for the place to open, when it finally did we realized it was definitly more than worth the wait, the burgers are 5 times the size of 5 guys burgers... the smallest patty was 5oz of the freshest beef compared to a 3.5 oz patty at 5 guys burgers. everything was as fresh as can be. the staff was very friendly helping you out from the second you walk in. its now a regular spot for a bunch of us. very unique restaurant, friendly, amazing food (especially kalamari). was definitly worth the wait and would reccomend to anyone who enjoys burgers and home made fries!!!!!!

I stopped in to get some food, and was greeted by extremely friendly staff. The food was great, there texx fries are amazing. Homemade, Hand cut Fries that are cooked perfectly. This is an awesome little burger shack, run by hardworking people!

This place has been worth the wait. I used to go out to 5 guys until now, luckily I work around the corner. Fresh cut fries, fresh ground beef, great selection of toppings. Def worth going to if you like good burgers.

Went there shortly after they opened.<br/>Concept is good, they give you a little piece of paper with all the topppings, and you mark which ones you want.<br/>The meat and topping were good, but the bun was horrible.<br/>Dry, hard to bite through...not great at all<br/>I got it to go, so I was not able to complain about the bun then.<br/>Will go back, and eat in, and if the buns still suck, will for sure complain.

The building blocks of this burger were exactly what you would look for when building an old fashioned greasy burg. The patty is good, fresh beef without any really noticeable seasoning, allowing for the raw patty flavour to stand out while eating the burg. It's also cooked well, leaving all the necessary burger juices locked inside.
