Review Coast Country Diner - Surrey

Adrian Torino
Dropped by for late lunch and had their steak and eggs along with extra breakfast sausages and a cinnamon bun. Steak was a little overcooked but it was seasoned pretty good. The cubed potatoes are pretty good but, I think it could have been fried a bit more. Like the cinnamon buns since it wasn't overly sweet.

Sometimes, you need a good breakfast to get through the day. Imagine trying to do that, before starting your work day. The Coast & Country Diner gave an amazing home made breakfast, in a cozy Diner. Bonus points for being open at 6:30AM Service, great. Breakfast, amazing. Being full, satisfied, with coffee in me ready to face my day. Bring it on. Definitely coming back here again.

Atmosphere was good, as well as service. Beef dip was disappointing as there was very little beef in the sandwich. Fries were redeeming. Breakfast was okay. Was expecting better food because of other reviews. Not sure if I would return.

A little diner in the country! Love supporting local businesses and this family-owned diner has the sweetest staff. Big portions for your buck. Pancakes were a little underdone and nothing special about the French toast, but we really enjoyed the Farmer’s Skillet. Coffee comes out hot, and there’s relatively quick turnaround so don’t get discouraged if it’s busy.

On June 25th 2022 After 26 yrs together my partner and I officially got married! Coast and Country Catering took care of us so well!! From the beginning, the owner Kim Philip was friendly and professional! He made us feel at ease and we didn't worry! He easily accommodated a last minute time change with ease! On the 25th he and his team arrived and set everything up! The food was amazingly delicious and Kim even took the extra time to cut our wedding cake! Something that was not discussed prior! My new husband and I would like to thank Kim and his team at Coast and Country Catering for the wonderful job they did! We highly recommend them! And we will definitely be visiting the diner soon for breakfast! Cheers!

Needed to pass some time so I popped into here for a late breakfast. The hollandaise sauce was delicious, poatched eggs were done a perfect medium and the staff was quick, attentive and friendly. Would recommend for a classic diner breakfast. Oh and the coffee... it was so yummy for a diner coffee, nice and fresh, perfect medium roast. My only smidgen of a recommendation is asking for the hashbrowns well done for a bit more crispy of a version if that's your thing.

Great food! They use good ingredients and it shows! Nice breakfast options, big portions, very tasty, good value for the money, and friendly staff! Highly recommended

Family owned, small diner in town, serving up a huge variety of breakfast favorites. The food was decent and if you love quantity, this is the spot. Few negatives: No options for breakfast meats if you don't eat pork, Omlette wouldn't be my first choice next time (tasted like the griddle), and the coffee wasn't the best, but hashbrowns, pancakes, and French toast were good. That being said, friendly staff and affordable menu w/ big quantities is hard to pass by.

Even though I love IHOP, I wanted to try a local restaurant so I saw the menu for this place online and it looked good so we had breakfast here on a Saturday morning. I'm not very adventurous so I ordered the 2x3 breakfast. 2 fried eggs (over medium), diced potatoes, 2 strips of bacon and 2 "farmers" sausages and toast. Everything was delightful, I was not very familiar with the type of sausage that we had but it was edible. The server was extremely nice, she is definitely a reason to visit this place again. Great service is hard to find and the food is good. Looking forward to trying out the lunch menu.

They Catered our wedding and were a pleasure to work with, excellent service and we got a lot of compliments on the food! When we were looking at caterers we went to their diner to try the food and see how they were. We were impressed with the food and service there so we decided to book them. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a caterer.

Highly recommended I have had the pleasure of using this company for large events in the past with flawless service but this morning they went above and beyond. I was contacted yesterday by a client of mine that needed help with a last min breakfast for the office so at 230 I called CC and they where able to book them in for 9 am this morning full breakfast buffet for 20 people delivered and set up for 9 am this morning ! I just received an email and they are elated with the service presentation and quality of food and staff ! No other catering company would have done this with less than 24 hours notice ! Thank you ! CC Will defiantly be my go to caterer for events.

Good diner food. Nothing fancy nothing horrible. Nice, simple and tasty. Exactly what a diner should be. I wasn't expecting much when we entered but I was pleasantly surprised by the good portions and decent quality.

July 21 2007. It was a beautiful overcast day (who am I kidding, it rained) and I was getting married. Fortunately these people were on the ball while catering the event because my ball popped early on and it was all I could do to remember my pants. They were friendly, the food was amazing and they found us a bartender last minute when we were informed that it didn't count that my now wife had her serving it right. If you just want a meal they have a cozy diner in Cloverdale and if you have an event you need catered they are really great and reasonably priced.

The best diner ! !. We often stop there with our crew for lunch or I'll take my girlfriend and join others for breakfast. The portions are huge so I seldom finish all they give me. It's always a treat when Carolyn is on. Her welcome smile and friendly service always brightens your day.

These people know how it's done.. I used this place to cater our wedding 7 years ago. The menu that we chose was one of their cheaper priced menus and you wouldnt have guessed the price per person. Any how, moving on to the food, it was yummy. We had a wide verity of food to cater to all persons preferences to food (a pasta dish, chicken, Barron of beef, veggies, salads). The person (I believe the owner) I delt with was helpful and bent over backwards for me as the dreded bride (I don't think I was to bad of one). After all was said and done, we still had people asking us who we had used as a caterer a few years after our wedding.

Don't forget The Little Guy. You know that tired, little restaurant right in your neighbourhood that has been there forever? You're curious about how old it is and how the food must be for such an unassuming place to stay in business for so long... only to pass by it for the umpteenth time, but never walk in.

Well today, I overcame the usual routine and walked into my neighbourhood diner.

Let me just say... I'm really glad I did. This place is exactly the type of restaurant I like. Unpretentious and simple, they make the food their focus with service coming in a close second. I decided on the Farmer's Sausage Eggs Benedict and my sister decided on the big ol Cowboy Breakfast. We both agreed there would be leftovers but they would be most happily consumed by our dog so we ordered without guilt over our gluttony.
The portions were large and I think the pricing was fair at 13 a plate. We saw the heaping plates and started to second guess ourselves even before the first bite... but it all looked so delicious. Two soft poached eggs covered in a creamy hollandaise sauce with a generous portion of cubed and spiced potatoes... a plate piled with ham, bacon sausage and eggs for her... it all looked amazingly inviting.

So as we dug in... and it tasted so good we just kept digging in... and before we knew it our plates were almost completely bare. The food looked amazing but it also tasted just as good as it looked. Aside for a bit of leftover meat we finished our plates and it was honestly one of the best breakfast meals I ever had.

Simple, rustic and generous it's the type of breakfast that can only be defined as comfort food on a lazy Saturday morning.

I'm just ashamed I never gave this place a shot until now.

Home Cooking At Its Best. Fabulous - home cooked roasted turkey, luscious coconut cream pie and terrific, keep-your-coffee-cup-filled service. What a gem!!

Large portions! Service was fast. Pancakes were large and fluffy (aka bigger and tastes better than what they serve at IHOP). Average price meals (a bit over $10) but the large portions makes up for it. Definitely the food tastes homemade.

Overrated. Portion sizes are huge, but food is mediocre and servers are friendly enough bur extremely inattentive. This was our second visit and it was the same both times. Wont be going back.

I ordered the corn beef sandwich with garden salad. It was an average sized sandwich ...tasty thin shavings of meat between two slices of marble rye bread. It could have used a bit more slices of corned beef. Friendly service by Danielle was great. Cozy diner atmosphere. Could have used another refill of hotwater for my tea but it was just the waitress' second day of work. Free WiFi available.

I've driven past this place for years, never given a second glance. However in the last few years my hatred for the box restaurants ie. cactus club, browns, keg... Even breakfast varieties like Ihop
They all suck
I decided I had to try country coast.
Great choice. It's exactly what you want. Great food, great service, relaxed, real..... Something the lower mainland is losing every day to these wretched chain restaurants

Breakfast. I have been to the restaurant twice for breakfast.

Both times the food served was cold and ill prepared.

I asked for basted soft eggs and got hard both times. I would think Sunday breakfast would be a busy time for this restaurant . Therefore ready to make each meal correct.

The first time I was there it was busy but this morning at 8:45 am it was not busy. There should be no excuse to serve cold incorrectly prepared food.

Service was friendly but not attentive. The server did not come by either time to ask how my food was.

I would be hard pressed to return. It is too bad because I like to support independent restaurants like this.

My wife and Daughter had breakfast here today and both my wife and I were very impressed. The food was good and our server even came over and boot the boot back on our daughters foot. Great friendly service and a good home cooked meal.

Nice diner, bigger restaurant than expected. Typical breakfast food, very homey.

Great staff.. We go here for the food but mostly for the friendly staff. Honest meal for an honest price.

Love this place!! I try to meet my parents here every weekend. The generous portions and the friendly staff are what keep us coming back. Check it out for yourself. See you next weekend ladies!!

By far the best breakfast in Cloverdale!. I would just like to say after reading the other reviews and also experiencing this fabulous diner that the others must have just had an unfortunate experience! I have been coming to the diner for years and have never had a bad meal or experience ( everyone has a bad day) also fast service ,great homestyle meals (especially breakfast bennys and omlette and for lunch by far the burgers are top notch ! Very accomidating to making us happy!

I thought all the food to be good .Service could be better, but I'm sure it will get better.

Omg!! Came here last week with my husband and shared the big country breakfast, it was fantastic! We decided to bring the family for Sunday brunch..... Huge mistake!! We saw 3 different parties arrive after us who got their order before us. When we finally got our food, the presentation was not very appetizing. But ate it cuz we were starving! I've never written a review before but this experience was so bad! Won't be eating here again, which is sad cuz the server we had the first time was so sweet

I will not be coming back. I always leave a tip, even if the service was not that great... but there was no service.
