Review Osaka Sushi - Sudbury

I have to admit that some of these reviews made me wonder if I should give this place a try. Sure glad I did. The sushi was delicious but the delivery did take a bit more than the 30 minutes pizza usually takes to reach me.When I called to inquire about my order the restaurant employee was incredibly nice and even sent me a free desert.I think they definitely have some great people working there. Will be ordering delivery again whenever I crave sushi that's for sure.

I love this place! I have taken my girlfriend for many dates here and it is great everytime! The servers are pleasant, price is good, food is always delicous and its filling, i dont ever see myself not eatting here for occasions or even just for a nice lunch!

Unfortunately I do not have many good things to say about this restaurant. First off the menus were visibly covered in grease and sauce as well as the wall next to the table. after handling the menus I needed to go wash my hands. The plates that the food were served on were dirty as well. I ordered some beef curry and the beef was dried up as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. The sushi was poorly made and was messy. The Server was very nice which was really their only redeeming quality. The next day I woke up feeling Ill. Do yourself a favour and avoid this place at all cost. There are so many other sushi places to chose from in town.

I have had some mixed experiences here but the majority have been positive. The food here is good on most visits, sometimes a few flaws but in general it's good. The service is all over the place depending on the time you come in. If you come during their busy time for lunch (12 - 2) then you'll usually be okay but if you come in around 2 or later the service drops off a lot until supper time. The one thing I will say is they have the best Beef Teriyaki that I've found so far in Sudbury as they use a better cut of meat for it than other sushi places in town.

Went here at about 6:45 PM and stayed until we finally got fed up waiting for our food and left at just after 9 PM. Payed for the all you can eat deal and 10 out of our 17 ordered items DID NOT get delivered to our table. The wait between the few items we recieved at a time was about 40 minutes. At the end of this ordeal the person that was taking care of our bills blamed us for not speaking up even though we told our waiter on THREE seperate occasions that we did not receive all of the items that we ordered. He said to us, "it was not busy, you should have told your waiter of your problem" (which we did). Also him saying that it wasn't busy (there was no more than 2 other small groups in the restaurant throughout our entire stay), just helps prove the point of the terrible service that this restaurant really has. After negotiating with the boy at the cash for 15 minutes or so, he told us that he would be WILLING to take 15% off but only if it was placed all on one bill so that he wouldn't go through the inconvenience of putting discounts on a few different orders. He told us that he didn't want to give us bigger discounts because then he might have to talk to the owner of the restaurant and that the owner might get angry with them. If the owner doesn't know about the complete lack of service shown by his employee's then how will he fix it? Something tells me that we aren't the first group to have to suffer through this type of service at this restaurant and by the looks of how they handle problems we definitely won't be the last. At the end we had 2 people with us that payed 25 dollars for TWO items. Completely ridiculous. I'll be happy to never go to this restaurant again.

I have never given any restaurant a bad rating but this place gets -3 stars. Service was ok but our server wore a ball cap & a dirty t-shirt. The fish was definitely not fresh ... I sent the unagi rolls back, worried about food poisoning. The glass they brought my drink in was filthy & the lemon slice in it looked to be 3 days old. The men's washroom was just disgusting. How much worse can a dining experience get? I wouldn't let a dog eat here ... avoid.

Food was decent, However the servers are bad. Don't check up on you, been waiting a refill on my drink for over a hour, waited over a hour and half for a bowl of soup that never came, customers that arrived way after us got served plate after plate while we still waited for part of our first order.... If you want to eat food and not wait around 2 hours to get 2 plates of sushi I highly recommend not coming here. Wheres mah soup?!?!?

Used to love this place but now the food was either a hit or a really big miss. You could tell that the frying oil was being used way too long in the fryer (not changing the oil enough) on their fried items; making everything fried taste bitter and burnt despite not being overcooked. They used to make my favourite food (pork cutlet curry) the best here but was disappointed in the fact that the cutlet tasted burnt, there was barely even a drizzle of curry which made it dry, and somehow the rice tasted almost putrid or bitter which made it impossible for me to even finish the serving. Teriyaki beef was very good though. The only reason why I am giving this a two star instead of a one was that *some* of the food was good, the server we had was very polite, and the orders (that did make it to the table) were done in a timely fashion. Sadly to say though I am not going to be coming back here.
