Review Wacky's Sudbury - Sudbury

Had Summer as our waitress and she was phenomenal. Friendly. The restaurant had a warm and welcoming atmosphere. With a cozy cottage vibe. Menu has a vast array of choices. We chose the Greek wrap, and Southwest taco Salad. The Greek Wrap was delicious, with its crisp romaine and fresh tomatoes paired nicely with chicken and red onions. The feta cheese and dressing brought it all together. Mom had the salad, brought out in a Tortilla Bowl, crisp romaine lettuce, montery jack cheese, tomatoes, green onions, crispy tortilla strips, mixed all together with a South West ranch dressing. Both meals were amazing. And a great place to stop after a 3 hours and bit drive. 10/10 would eat here again.

Delicious fresh food with so many different flavours to choose from. Staff is always friendly, restaurant is always clean and the games are a big hit with the kids!!

I ordered Wacky Wings for the first time yesterday while stopped in Sudbury on our trip home. We were very hungry after driving 10 hours, and really wanted some good chicken wings as I had a craving. We drove by Wacky Wings, and decided when we got to the hotel (4 minutes away) that we would go pick up some wings. I ordered two different sauces for my wings, and my girlfriend got two other kinds. I ordered Hot as Megan fox and Spiced Apple Butter Rum BBQ. She ordered cheddar dry and dill pickle dry, The minute the order was placed they called me to let me know the Apple butter rum wasn’t Avaiable so I get 40 creek instead. I can understand running out of sauce as they were pretty busy, but that is not why I’m giving them a 2 star rating. On arrival, walking in, not being greeted, they were just calling out order numbers, and must have thought I was someone from skip. They were giving attitude and pretty well yelling “ughhhhh” when no one came up to the counter for the numbers they called, all in all they seemed very unpleasant and frustrated at the people coming to pick up the wings that are spending their money at the restaurant they are working at. After receiving my order, paying with a small tip, it came to a total of just over 50$ for 2 and a half lbs of wings. Getting back to the hotel (4 minutes away), and extremely hungry, I was ready to eat these wings and I was really excited for a spicy flavour I’ve never tried before. I always heard wackys was the best for spicy wings. Boy was I ever disappointed when I opened up my wings to find my hot as Megan fox wings were so soggy and wet that it was pretty well going through the cardboard. I’m not sure what kind of sauce it was, but it was super runny and I’m assuming the wings just absorbed it all, and were the soggiest wings I’ve seen. Trying to pick one up, the wings literally squished with finger imprints and just turned to mush. After trying them (I know, why would I do that), I couldn’t even finish half a wing, it was just wet mushy breading that would fall off, I don’t know if this just the type of sauce, or maybe the wings just weren’t crispy before, But working in a restaurants for over 10 years, I can honestly say, I’ve never seen someone send out wings that were soggy and wet like this.

It was hot as molasses inside. But, let’s talk about the food. The appetizers was delicious; we ordered fried cheesy curds, and it wasn’t amazing but it was good. Tasted more like a cheese stick. The wings were delicious. The flavour profile is spot on. I enjoyed the service, our waitress [Portia] was polite, attentive and suggested my flavours for the wings. I would return, but they really need to upgrade their HVAC.

Lots of wing sauce choices. Wings were cooked perfectly. Nachos were also very good... Friendly and professional waitress, took good care of us. Only thing we didn't like is that you had to order a pop or juice with your meal. Not a big deal though. We would return again for all you can eat wings. 👍

The food was very tasty (my husbands burger), and the server seemed nice enough, but the drinks took forever to be made and come to our table. When the drinks finally arrived it tasted like there was no alcohol in them whatsoever. We did inquire with our server if he had made them alcoholic as we had asked and he said yes but it honestly tasted like there was nothing but ice and syrups. Our server offered to comp the nachos which we didn’t like, and barely touched, but then came back to tell us he was not allowed to. The whole visit felt very bizarre and chaotic. This was my first time at wacky wings, and I had heard good things but this trip was very disappointing.

The food was exactly what you would want if you came here. I had the chicken wrap which was delicious! Beer selection is limited but it included Craft beers from Manitouline Breweries which were great. Service was slow despite it not being busy but everybody pitched in to make it work. . I would go back.

After going for a few drinks and snacks with some friends, we noticed the staff felt very stressed. They were great and the service was excellent, yet I felt like something was wrong. At the end of the night, some staff members that we hadn't seen yet during the evening came up to our table to say that the free food coupon we redeemed didn't go through because the requirement was a "food purchase of $25 or more" which meant that we had to pay for it. We proved that the virtual coupon actually said "with minimum purchase of $25 before tax" despite spending more than $25 on drinks, but they wouldn't budge on it. The waitress who served us said that we won't have to pay for it because it was her mistake, yet we heard from other staff members that she's going to pay for it instead of us. She came out with our cheque, which included over $40 for one pitcher of beer, with tears running down her face while she came to our table after speaking with her manager. This sweet waitress who gave us amazing service was brought to tears by her management. The management at this Wacky's location treats their staff abusively and they don't honour their coupons, trapping their customers with unexpected costs. If a coupon isn't going through, they make their staff pay for it instead. With such high prices and abusive management, I'd rather spend my money elsewhere. I tolerate neither abusive behaviour nor slimy business practices such as was demonstrated here.
