Review Gloria's Restaurant - Sudbury

The reviews made us come visit this historic restaurant which was established in 1952. Family owned Canadian style food. The restaurant was full and the wait line was long which further fuelled my craving and now even more curious to try the food out. The main reason also was the fact that the reviews mentioned Vegan menu! A whole page for Vegan options! How wonderful is that ! It’s good to see the way people view and accept new ways in food and habits. Inclusion is most appealing. Sadly I was not impressed by the service or server Cathy was extremely unresponsive, excruciatingly slow and for each and every thing it took a long time. We spent more than 2 and half hours in ( eating food took max 20 minutes) many tables around got filled served and paid during our time in. Plus the only non vegan dish I ordered was veg skillet ( mixed veggies with house fries and scrambled eggs) was only fries and an chewy omelette cut in pieces 😱 It was loaded with fat grease and Carbs no soft fluffy Scrambled eggs no vegetables visible, just so disappointing. The poutine was good the gravy tasty and portion size huge. The vegan French toast could do with some more flavour and the whipped coconut cream was a bite size portion ( they could have been generous with it) the strawberries too was scarce. Overall I would vegans was better. They don’t serve any fresh juices which is a shame for any brunch place. Mimosas made with canned juice! This place is ideal for lots of grease Carbs and unhealthy food options. Felt like one of the unhealthy American diners. Would never go back Totally waste of my tummy space and health and money and time!

Staff are very friendly great portions and little to no wait for a table. The eggs benny was amazing as well as the ham and bacon breakfast poutine. You get more than enough for the price. We couldn't finish everything. Will definitely return in the future.

Recipe for the best breakfast; 1) Eggs Benny were perfect with poutine style home fries! 2) Waffles with Nutella, strawberries, and bananas. 3) Fruit plate 😍

The vegan breakfast options were amazing. As were all the pies.

The place was nice, clean and staff very friendly. Breakfast was ok but the bacon wasn't homemade

Visited Gloria's Restaurant for breakfast with my family and can say I was thoroughly impressed. The restaurant was completely full, however our wait was only 5 minutes. All the staff seemed to be extremely friendly and attentive to customers. Great experience and will definitely be returning on my next breakfast outing.

We were visiting from out of town and looking for a breakfast restaurant to eat at. Thankfully the debit machine wasn’t working at Perkins because we wouldn’t have discovered the absolute gem. Best breakfast we’ve ever had. Friendly staff great service. Definitely a must go! 👍.

My server was amazing!! The food was ok. I can’t believe they make us pay top dollar for ready crisp bacon. It was awful. My daughter didn’t even hers and she loves bacon so I ordered her a side of sausage too. My eggs, toast and home fries were good though. The owner is something else though. From what I gather, the daughter is the owner and the mom helps out. I overheard the mother getting mad at servers (the servers were amazing and working their butts off while she stood at the door). I spoke to a couple at the table beside us and they said their grand-daughter works there and the owner steals the servers’ tips and totally rips them off. They get the new servers to do all the “dirty work” for them and don’t share tips with them. If you’re an owner, you shouldn’t be getting tips! When the mother got mad at a server, the daughter walked by and they started talking in a different language. Both tables thought that was extremely rude. I probably won’t be going back after learning how they run their business and screw over their staff. I think the labour board should definitely have a look into this

Great restaurant and service. Breakfast was great with different options. I had the steak and eggs with potatoes and on the side it had toast one lettuce and one thin slice of orange. It was really good!

Great breakfast, great coffee, service is fast and efficient-
Dinner is definitely geared to seniors and if you are one, you will enjoy the menu and atmosphere. Lots and lots of older people. Not for me - but highly recommend the breakfast. Big portions and fair prices.

If you are looking to take a step back in time; check out Gloria's Restaurant. The entrance was a little surprising as you first walk into a variety store before you make your way to the tables. The food is down home and so are the customers. It reminds me of the movie Fargo. I had a chicken gumbo soup and chicken and Greek salad. Both were quite good. Coffee was also good. Staff were very prompt and polite. I took tomorrow's lunch to go.

Breakfast - maybe, Dinner - NOT!. Should have read reviews before going for dinner as it seems to only rate as a breakfast diner....was served frozen mixed veggies with my dinner - really!! Very disappointing!

Gotta love my eggs Benedict here! Very affordable, quick service, good food! What more can you ask for? I've been coming here since my days as an LU student, although back then it was more of a hangover breakfast than an early morning work break! :) will always keep coming back here!

Atmosphere indeed.. I've been to Gloria's on a number of occasions, and it has always been a very lovely experience. Although I wouldn't regard Gloria's as the top diner-style-breakfast in the city, the food is quite tasty and generously portioned. Gloria's shines because of the warm, welcoming staff and, prompt, excellent, service. The atmosphere, as noted by a previous reviews, is a rarity in the age of franchise restaurants, and indeed the unique highlight of the Gloria's experience.

The atmosphere is everything. With an address on Bouchard Street and inexistant visibility from Regent Street, it's easy to miss Gloria's restaurant. Yet it is definitely one of the nicest diners in Sudbury. The service is relaxed, friendly and efficient. You may be a first-time customer, but it feels as though the servers know you personally, and everyone else for that matter. Breakfast is the obvious choice, but fish and chips and pasta are excellent as well. With my fish and chips, yesterday, I had mounds of French fries. A great place for kids of all ages. The place is not necessarily the coolest around, but there is a lot to choose from on the menu, there are large tables, and the servers are good with families..

First timer review. Well, to be honest i drove past Gloria's over a hundred times since we moved to Sudbury, and because of the location i never thought to go in. this weekend, we decided to try somewhere new for breakfast, so the family went to the somewhat shabby looking diner by homehardware. inside, the atmosphere is cozy, very mid-level diner'esque. nothing fancy, very plain in fact. we were greeted promptly, seated promptly, and served coffee immediately. after ordering our food, we were quite quickly served our meal even though the place didn't have an open table. the food was awesome. best breakfast in Sudbury no doubt. even perkin's can't compare. french toast is amazing, the 2-egg portion was good, and scrambled eggs were light and tasty. the servers were all very friendly, smiling, happy people, and even the bus-boy came to clear our table when needed and said thanks when he took our plates away? pretty good place to eat and we'll be going back for sure!

love love love the breakfast there, and would love to try the liver and onions sometime!
everything was 5/5 if you ask me.
