Review The Duchess Tea Room - Stoney Creek

The Duchess Tearoom was really great! The dacor is adorable, the restaurant features Antiques and even a collection of hats that belongs to one of the owners! It definitely feels uniquely British, and is a great addition to Stoney Creek. The owners are both super lovely and the service was great, I do recommend making a reservation because it seems like they're pretty busy and just managed to squeeze Us in as walk-ins. The scone was one of the best I've ever had!

My best friend and I went a couple of weeks back to celebrate my birthday in a low key way, and the I was blown away by the amazing service. They were very careful about respecting my rare food allergy (cinnamon) which can be an issue in a place that serves tea and baked treats. The tea was amazing, and those sandwiches were great. I was especially fond of the corned beef. But all of them were good. I will definitely be going back again, even though it's a little out of my way. But I am so glad that Karyn and I took the chance to try this place out. Thank for the amazing experience ladies, and for the surprise birthday empire biscuit.

Wonderful quaint tea room to enjoy delicious hanmade pastries with your cuppa. The two ladies running the shop are a delightful mother daughter duo. Got to enjoy a special cup reading during my visit. I think high tea might become a regular event for me! Always best to call in a reservation as everything is fresh made to order.

We went for my sister-in-law's birthday. We enjoyed our visit very much. Seating was arranged so you could chat privately since tables were nicely spaced out, though larger groups could be accommodated. We had the high tea which was delicious. All items on the 3 tiers, sandwiches, scones, Bakewell tarts, carrot cake and cream coronets were homemade with generous amounts of clotted cream and bumbleberry jam for the scones. The owner, from Yorkshire, and her daughter, very thoughtfully brought out an Empire cookie with a candle in it, to help me sing happy birthday to my SIL. We had a lovely time and will definitely return!

Was a great way to catch up with my best friend. Food was great and service was fantastic. We had the Tea for two.

Eight of us enjoyed tea this afternoon. The food is flavorful and fresh. A couple of the women mentioned that the scones were the best they have ever eaten! The rooms are spacious, a comfortable tea house to relax with friends. Server was fiesty, direct and became flustered at times. Could have been more customer focused.

Everything there is fresh and comfortable. An intimate space for a family function that is a balance of whimsy, class, elegance and fun. Price point is great for the amount of food you get and there’s usually some freebies and extras each time. COVID has closed it up but I’m assured it will reopen once we are past this challenging time. Support a local business :: Eat fresh
