Recently came here for breakfast. This cafe is very cool building, old style basically. Food taste was great, staff was very friendly! Unfortunately, because of the ridiculous prices on their menu, we will not be back. Back at home in Moncton, NB, breakfasts at the same caliber will cost us under $20 for two people. Here it cost us just under $50. These prices are ridiculous.

Holy delicious food! We had the Fish & Brewis, and the newfie beans and toutons. Flavors were great, service was what you expect from newfoundland: friendly and lovely. I wish we had found this place sooner so we could have visited more than once. Coffee was smooth as well!

Fantastic place for brunch, lots of choices and the food was spectacular. Servers were great and tended to us when we needed it. Was able to make my own Benedict with what I ordered. Prices are fair but it's easy to pump up the bill lol worth it. They also offer outside dining, kinda wish they had bigger tables though. Highly suggest, toutons are top tier as are their Benedict options.

Great breakfast! Had the Newfoundland Benedict. Superb fish cakes instead of English muffins, with smoked salmon on top - not too much, not too little. I’d have it again in a heartbeat! Great service, nice homey but classy ambiance.

Delicious breakfast food and nice atmosphere! It's a little crowded at times but the decor is unique and interesting to look at. It's got a fun vibe that you can't help but love. The hashbrowns are usually really good, and are one of the reasons I keep coming back. Sadly, the prices here are just insane, and even though the food is good, it's hard to justify coming back... no one wants to pay over 60$ just for a breakfast for two.

We had the lobster dinner for two and it was absolutely delicious. The drink special was tasty and our server was attentive and went back to grab us extra napkins and wipes when we made a mess having a feast. The decor was also extremely fun to look at. The seating was sectioned off so the atmosphere was comfortable and private enough. The booth seats could be softer though haha- maybe cushions?

So good for any time of the day. Just stopped in for a dinner and decided to try the new Zealand lamb ribs. I usually sit on the fence when it comes to lamb, but these ribs were unbelievable. Such a great place with so many amazing options. Highly recommended.

It was very hot with very loud music. The server was bored and not extremely helpful when asked about spices in the dish ( food allergies were a definite possibility). Turns out the soup did have allergens in it. The food was passable otherwise. It may have been the top cafe in 2012, but it has slipped very badly since. Definitely not recommended or a place I would visit again

You can tell by the line outside that it will be good! Great service and great food! Strongly recommend the lobster Caesar and any breakfast that will include toutons. One of my favourite place in St John's

I have eaten at a lot of good breakfast restaurants, but I have to say, this is one of the best. Certainly seems a bit expensive, but the portions are huge and the food is excellent. Very friendly staff too.

Always consistently good food. The staff always seems to enjoy their job, and the owner is always a sweetheart. My favourite place to eat and recommend by far <3

I used to love coming here to eat, they have gone down hill big time. The breakfast bacon is always burnt and stringy, the sausages weren’t good at all. Even the eggs didn’t taste good. After eating it today my stomach is turned I feel like I want to throw up.

Delicious as always! Got our food within about 10 minutes and the place was fairly busy. Fish cakes were bomb! Our server was amazing and attentive. Only complaint was that my alcoholic drink was warm.

Overpriced and greasy. Used to love this place but maybe my tastebuds have become more refined or I just want a decent breakfast that's not crazy overpriced for the quality of food. This is now the last place I would go for breakfast, which is a shame because the place has such a cute atmosphere.

The food was awesome but the service is ridiculous.. yes you are busy but you have time to check on all your other tables and not once were we checked on. Very snotty waitress. I’m a waitress myself and you always have time to check on your tables to see if they’re ok. Not impressed.

The food was great, the plate came with a lot on it, and the atmosphere was lovely; it was quaint and the staff were very friendly. Definitely worth every penny.

Food quality is top notch! Always fresh and hot! The consistency through the years has been amazing. Love this place! Would eat here every day if I could!

We went for breakfast with my family and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I loved the omelette and my son so enjoyed his bacon and waffles. A laid back morning for us so a perfect start for a walk down Water St. Thx!

Amazing! We were there for their lobster & scallop breakfast special & we loved every single bite! Awesome spot

Poor quality food. My husband's plate looked like a mess and my French Toast was dry and inedible. We will not be going back.

Worst chocolate chip pancakes I have ever had. Very chewy. Either recipe was bad or more likely they microwaved it too much to heat it up. Service was great.
