Review Volcano Bakery - St. John's

Delicious and different pastries than you find in most of St. Johns. The food seems reasonably priced, and extremely tasty. If you spend more than 5$ you get a free coffee!

Giving a very generous 2. First time buying from this place, we ordered the Halloween Cookie Decorating package they promoted on their FACEBOOK page. The cookies weren't the best. The icing wasn't amazing.. the kids had fun and enjoyed decorating a few cookies but IMO The package was overpriced at 25.00 for 6 cookies. While leaving the bakery, I also scooped up the last 2 cupcakes they had on display. Not much else ready to sell. They looked delicious, they were OLD. The icing looked amazing. It was gross. Had to take most of it off.. butter icing that tasted days old. Like.. if you have food on display to sell, please make sure it is FRESH. I hate waisting money on old food. Needless to say the cupcakes were also overpriced at over 7.00 for 2. They looked and tasted just like the ones you would make from a Betty crocker cake mix. But the Betty crocker cake mix would be fresh. Not the best first impression of this business therefore I will not be tempted to go back.

Great bakery with decent prices. This place does a great job of being different compared to the majority of other bakeries in town. Their bread & other baked goods are for the most part fantastic. Being offered a free coffee or tea from a purchase over a certain amount certainly doesn't hurt either.

I was there with a friend today. She bought two of everything. She's also a baker and cook and owns a restaurant. I'm not a sweets kinda person but had to try the apple flips as they looked so fresh and good. I fell in love with the apple flip! It was the best and sweetest I've ever tasted. My friend the cook however, fell in love with EVERYTHING! They get four thumbs us from us and I know they made a new regular customer out of my friend! The staff were really friendly and helpful. Indecisive customers seem to be the only problem as it's too hard to choose from all the goodies! I will be telling everyone about this place!

Great assortment of baked good. Delicious and very high quality ingredients used. They make the best brownie ever and you get a free cup of coffee with a purchase! Very friendly staff and location is clean and well-maintained.

I was recommended to go here, I purchased a cinnamon bun, meringue, and donuts. Found the meringue beyond sweet and centre was goey, donut was dry like the plain Tim Hortons donut, but..... Cinnamon bun was fantastic, and the Chocolate on the items was great. I can only guess the Danish would also be great. Coffee was tasty also, I can only see this play improving over time. Yes I will return in a few months to try once again

I had my first visit today and definitely not my last, it was hard to not get one of everything but each treat we got was to die for. I'm not a fan of anything with a lot of cream but the bakery completely changed my mind, the lava cake was one of the most delicious cakes I've ever eaten and the brown sugar meringue tastes like heaven. I can't wait to go back again and try everything I didn't try today.

Made our 1st visit today. I happened to come upon your facebook page this morning, and said "i've got to go there today!" And we did. We were in awe of all the yumminess! We bought a frosted cinnamon roll (the largest i've seen), choc danish, apple flip and a lemon pastry thing. Very very good!! We had a loaf of white bread as well which tasted as if it was made by your mother!! Definately will be back and highly recommend this little bakery. :)

I have only tried the homemade bread so far and it's the best I've had since my grandmothers, delicious ! Picked up chocolate cupcakes to bring to a bbq for dessert today and they were amazing! Everyone loved them! - Sept 2017

I shop here for bread and pastries...everything is so fresh and delicious!!! Would definitely recommend it!!

It's a different take on baked goods, for sure, but brings such unique tastes to our city that I enjoy trying something new there every time I go! Their creamy icing/ frostings are so buttery and light, and the chocolate melts upon touch so it's smooth and velvety when eaten... and I haven't even mentioned the bread! Give it a try, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

My first visit. It will definitely not be my last. I'm kicking myself for taking this long to go there. The service was fantastic. Helped by 2 ladies that were extremely knowledgeable. I ended up buying a cinnamon roll and it was the best cinnamon roll I ever had. There is definitely something for everyone there.

Yesterday was my first visit to Volcano Bakery! I loved it, everyone was super nice and the food is so yummy!! Can't wait to go back and FYI The rum balls are AMAZING!

I had a piece of cake today that a f4iend has bought for their kids birthday. The cake was totally heavenly. The only fault I would say I had with it was that it was waaaaay too good. It was real sweet and being a diabetic I was on a sugar high and near had to be peeled off the ceiling.....lol. You guys have to be the best cakes bakery I have ever tasted. Keep 7p the excellent work...wow!!!!

The best baked goods in town. The ham and cheese croissants are amazing. The staff are so friendly.

Finally got around to checking this place out. Love love love. I should of went sooner. Today might of been my first visit but it won't be my last!! Num num num!!

Unreal birthday cake experience - one real cream puff type vanilla cake with custard in middle and one chocolate Toblerone cheesecake (best cheesecake ever- not too rich or thick- just perfect and fluffy and ahhhhmaZing) thank you !! ❤️

I love this bakery their pastries are to die for and their bread is the best! You just have to try for yourself, you will be so glad you did

The danishes, the cinnamon rolls, the almond logs, the breads, the rum balls, the free coffee (after spending $5). Too many favourites from this store. If they had chairs and tables, I'd never leave.

Had the opportunity to try the Danish cinnamon roll yesterday and it was delicious but then everything that I have bought there has been excellent.
