Review Ches's Fish And Chips - St. John's

Ordered a request for pick-up. Server who took call was thorough and professional during call. When picking up my order a server reminded the server taking my payment to include a missing item from my order before I finished paying and leaving, which I was grateful for. Food was tasty, quality and quantity was satisfactory. Takeout packaging was durable but did not include napkins or forks and I was not asked if I wanted condiments. Price was fair. I do not recommend this place for vegans or most vegetarians.

Chess's is alot more than just Fish and Chips, it's Breakfast too. Very friendly welcoming morning server clean, tables and hot coffee. Breakfast came hot and in short time after the order. Very reasonably priced. I had the 2 touton breakfast sandwich view attached picture. Delicious breakfast.

Ate at Ches’s this evening (Sept. 3). The food was very good but it was the floor staff that sets them apart from other. Both servers were excellent but the young lady on the floor was exceptional. She was pleasant, accommodating, well mannered and provided awesome service. Well done Ches’s.

There was only one employee seating customers, taking orders, and answering phone calls. Despite how busy it was, he did an amazing job!! The food was great and the server was even better, would definitely recommend this place to others!

Good food! Nice and hot and very fresh. A little short staffed but thats out of their control. Won't hold them to that.

Horrible burnt and greasy fish. Location :You walk into the establishment and the floors are slimy and gross. I've worked in restaurants before and i know what's going on. Using the same mop in the kitchen as in the dining area. This creates an unsafe and unsanitary condition. Food: fries are ok. Gravy ok. But the main reason for going there is the fish. It was burnt. Greasy and grey. If you want good fish and chips. Do not go here.

This is the best Ches’s Fish and Chips location in Newfoundland. The food here is absolutely delicious. I really love the Topsail Road and Highland Drive locations, but this one is definitely my favorite restaurant.
