Although our youngest didn't behave or cooperate one bit and we were forced to leave early because of it, the staff and food was excellent. They were incredibly accommodating to our child's egg allergy and ensured they provided us with options and prepared a meal specific to his needs. It's rare to find a place that does this so willingly, it was fabulous. We will be back again.
We drive from conception bay south to come in for a meal. We love the mac and cheese and salmon!
Went there last night to celebrate my husband's 70th with the family. Six adults and two children. The food was delicious. The wings and bacon garlic bred was great and Hubby and I and daughter and son-in-law had fantastic burgers. Cooked great & the buns were delicious. Other son-in-law had the pouting and he loved loved it. Great price too for wine & beer. Five stars from us!
Just ordered through Skip The Dishes and was more then impressed with not only the food but the packaging as well! Excellent meal and we will def order again!
Had the fish and chips on good Friday and was awesome. Some of the best fries around, and the fish was nice and flaky.
I have to say the word accommodating is really used at Klondike Jake's.. I was there Monday night past with a group of persons with disabilities, our SERVER was top notch she did fantastic very patient , very understanding.. It was Fantastic!!... Everyone went home Full.
Our family was there today to celebrate my wifes birthday. Food was great, service was great. A+ for us. Thank you

My husband and I had a great meal. The service was also great. Will definitely be back again.
Tried Klondike Jake's for the first time last night & man oh man was it ever delish!!.. I had the Old Timer Bacon & Mozza Burger with a baked potato & I have to say it was the BEST burger I ever had!, My mother had the all day breakfast which she also said she really enjoyed. Our server was very nice & fast service which was wonderful seeing how there was only 2 girls on & she seemed to be doing all the work. I will most definitely be visiting again!!
One of the better restaurants around! Good food and service!

Yesterday my brother and I went here lunch. Initially the were a little concerned about going over our lunch as it was slow to be seated. However, once we were seated our server was incredibly friendly, continually checked in and the food was pretty decent! ( I had salmon while my brother had steak, no complaints on either :) ). We came here thanks to a coupon from Christmas at the Glacier but I would go back here to eat again!
It's a nice restaurant. The decor is on point with the theme and feels cozy. Staff were very friendly and very attentive. I ordered the Santa Fe Spring Rolls as a starter and the motherlode burger as the main. Both were hot and delicious and nicely filling.
Always good food and service. Fast even with larger groups. Lots of parking as located within The Village but has it's own entrance. Great variety on the menu. Dine here somewhat regularly and always enjoyed.
Now, much like everything else in my life, I'm very critical over what service I receive at a restaurant. Is my drink always full, am I bothered too much by a server, am I taken care of enough, is the food good, and so on and so forth. It's a very difficult balance when it comes to good customer service and over indulgence from a server. Today, I'm going to tell you about Klondike Jakes.
Now, I'm not going to say KJ's is the best restaurant in the city. It most certainly isn't. It's your basic, run of the mill family restaurant that is a step about McDonald's and a step below fine dining. It's the sort of restaurant that is a great place for a first date for a young couple, as it is very affordable and a step above the aforementioned McDonalds. It's a great place for a supper for a couple on the run, such as my wife and I tend to be a lot. It's even great for a stop in for a drink and a pound of wings when you just don't feel like cooking for a night.
I've eaten numerous items from their menu, including the hot wings, the steak, a meaty hamburger, pork shops, a club, a club wrap... all the "usual suspects" for someone who might eat at a place like this. The wings are great, with lots of zingy sauce, and not too over the top in flavor as to take away from a side dish or a drink. The steak, while a little dry, was very serviceable and suitably tasty while reasonably priced. The burgers were great, rivaling some of the best hamburgers I've eaten in the city. Clubs and wraps are always filled properly with lettuce and chicken, and an ample supply of my ever loving favorite, bacon. :) The pork chops are easily the best I've eaten at a restaurant in St. John's.
The service in this restaurant is exactly what you would think it would be. The serving girls are very pleasant (I say girls because I think I've only seen a guy there once) but not the "over-the-top-because-I-want-a-tip" pleasant. When I'm there, my drink is always full, although from time to time I need to ask for a refill. They are speedy and generally you get service right away, and they are always prompt with a bill when you are done. (This is a big point for me) Having been frequenting KJ's for a number of years now, with me being a former mall employee and with my wife having worked there, I notice that many servers have been there for a long time, so they know the layout and know the menu well enough for me to be confident enough to ask for a recommendation. (Also a big point for me)
The thing about Klondike Jakes for me is that I know that they aren't the best restaurant in the city. It's a family restaurant built on a business of servicing mall customers, not just from luring the average restaurant faring public in. It targets mall staff and consumers alike, and does so very well. It's fast and good, but not great. When you go in, you know what you should expect and you get it, EVERY TIME. This is something not a lot of restaurants in this city can claim. (I'm looking at you, Jungle Jim's) If you want a safe, serviceable, and fast place to eat out, check out Klondike Jakes in the Village Mall. You won't be blown away, and you definitely won't be disappointed.
5 dollar India pints on Saturday night! That was pretty great. Also, don't hesitate to ask for the macaroni bites. A delicious appetizer that appears to be balls of mac'n'cheese deep fried. Just think about how decadent that is. And then go order it.
Aside from that, you are looking at your standard chain restaurant located in a mall.
Live their seafoods and steaks are on point every time!! Great place, older though and could use a solid cleaning where you "can't see" (so long as you don't look up). Food though is amazing!!
