Review Kelseys Original Roadhouse - St. John's

Today was the first time at this establishment. I will be back again and recommend this place to everyone. Singles, couples, friends and family all would have a wonderful experience. The server we had went above and beyond. Was so kind helpful and knowledgeable. He took the time to show he understood my question and did more than enough to accommodate my dietary needs. Jimmy was the name of our server and my husband and I will be asking for him next time. Also the manager Mel was so sweet and kind. Once again this is now my top place to eat in the st. John's area. Thank you.

Well we decided after a day of working and booting around town battling long gas lines, that we would pop into Kelsey's for their wing night. Best. Decision. Ever. Kara my dear you were pleasant, professional and just like one of the family. You went above and beyond to make sure I enjoyed my wings and I am so thankful as if my eyes are tearing up, those are some amazing hot wings. Great time, wicked service and fantastic food. Can't wait to come back

We went to Kelsey’s Wednesday night for a work function with a table of almost 20 (some people just dropped in but I think 17 stayed for dinner). Our server Karissa was fantastic. She was kind and welcoming while also being prompt and professional, as a group of business professionals we raved about how good her service was. She maintained a professional front while also being extremely warm and friendly and I feel so lucky to have had her as our server for such a large group. I want to say thank you to Karissa for making our event run smooth and be as enjoyable as it was.

Went there for a casual dinner and had the buffalo cauliflower bites and broccoli and cheddar soup for appetizers and we both had bbq bourbon burgers with onion rings and split a tray of wings. Server was fantastic and very attentive. We also tried the strawberry rhubarb lemonade, it was kinda strange with a cinnamon flavor. Overall, very good meal, will go again.

My friend and I took our babies to Kelsey's today! Jimmy was our server and made us feel right at home, like part of the family. He made our experience absolutely fantastic. Our food was delicious and service was excellent! Highly recommend their new summer drinks as well! Thanks for the great lunch, Jimmy!!

Arrived on a Sunday with a party of 7 (4 "adults" and 3 kids). Everything was horribly slow... Was an hour in and my 5yr old was starting to lose complete patience simply because she was hungry and still waiting for her meal. On the adult side of things... Drinks were ezceptionally slow, apps were ordered and one of them messed up (asked for no hot sauce and made covered in hot sauce), and the waitress was invisible for refills... Ice in the drinks actually melted completely before she showed up asking for refills. Our main meals were half eaten before the last adults meal arrived and then only did we get drink refills. Tables next to ours were left covered in dirty dishes and messy napkins for the vetter part of an hour after the people left... Great atmosphere. (sarcasm intended). I understand being understaffed... But reduce the capacity to what you can service. It's not fair to put the staff you DO have in this situation. This is my first and LAST time at this restaurant based on this experience. If I am spending almost 300 dollars on a family meal I expect more.

We came here because our "go to" restaurant was packed. We were seated right and our server promptly took our drink order. We both decided on a steak special they were running. Our food came out quickly and both our steaks were cooked how we ordered them and delicious! We both enjoyed our meals very much and the portions were very satisfying! We were both very pleased with all aspects of our meals! Looks like we found our new"go to"!

Took the family here last weekend, it was quiet busy, but our waitress was a rockstar! She came back often, got our order perfect and best of all we all had a really great meal, burger was on point, wife has chicken parm, it was a very large serving, enough for a whole second meal for lunch next day lol. My daughter also said they had the best chicken finger she’s ever had lol. All in all it was a great Kelsey’s experience. Front of house staff really have things working well. Will Definitely be back. We went last year as well, but our experience was lack luster that visit and we were unsure about returning. This visit has resolved that debate for me. Would recommend to anyone. My only downside to Kelsey’s are there are too many tables, dining area feels VERY close to each other. Not even close to 6’ between patrons. I know they “Say” the pandemic is over, but it’s just too close for my comfort currently.

The food at this place isn't fit to feed an animal! The ribs are so dry you can't chew them...the mac and cheese tasted like it was full of chemicals... the coleslaw tastes like actual vomit... the fries are nasty and the so called chicken Alfredo tasted like an old boot soaked in salt meat! I don't know how this place is still open! Definitely don't recommend!

Our first time there and it was awful. We placed our order and ten minutes after we were told there were no gluten free buns for my burger. I had to ask for a menu to pick something else. We sat and waited and watched as my husbands order sat in the window under the heat lamp for over 20 mins. Our very simple order took almost 30 mins on a slow day in the restaurant. Our fries were old and cold. We paid our bill and went to leave and when we looked we were charged an extra 18.00 for the original meal I had ordered but didn't receive. We were not offered compensation in any way. I worked in the restaurant industry for many years and know that this is just not acceptable. My first time here left a bad taste in my mouth, not just the crappy margarita I ordered. I will not be back again.

Where do I start, I called and made a reservation for my daughters bday supper. A couple of days later I called back to add more people to the reservation and they had no reservation for me. Strike 1, so I make the reservation again. When we got there for supper the reservation was for 13 people and they only 7 place setting for us. Strike 2. I moved a table myself, I was getting pissed at this point. Someone came over when I started moving tables and I explained what happened and she looked at me and said OH and walked away. So once everyone got there, there was no way to have a conversation because it was so loud in there, the waitress came down to take our orders and we literally had to yell because she couldn't hear us. That should be a sign to turn down the music. Once we ordered our meals we had to wait an hour for them to come out, once they did it was ice cold and 2 of the orders were not right and the waitress said just eat what you want off it. That's not ok. Anyway 2.5 hours later we finally got out of there, the next day they called me to confirm my reservation for that night. Clueless, I was there the night before. Needless to say I will NEVER go there again.

Friday evening past it was my birthday and we went to Kelseys for the first time. We were seated promptly and the hostess was lovely. Our server was Charlotte and she was amazing. Our daughter is four and has a tree nut allergy, so eating out is always worrisome for my husband and I. Charlotte was wonderful and explained how Kelseys takes allergies seriously. She came with the red allergy binder and reviewed all the menu items we were interested in and explained how certain items were prepared or deep fried. She was so accommodating and she was especially lovely with our little girl. It was also Charlotte ‘s birthday that day! We will definitely return to your establishment again and will recommend to others.

Went there for the first time tonight with my girlfriend and was not disappointed! I've seen the mixed reviews for this restaurant and was a little hesitant at first but after going there and being served by Richard I have to say that I will be returning for sure! Food was great, service was not only to my expectations but they were very accommodating with my girlfriends lactose intolerance. I would easily recommend this establishment to any of my friends and family, and if this is the kind of service I will get everytime then I shall be a regular that's for sure. Keep up the great work!

I was a regular at Kelsey's Midland, Ontario and was so excited to see them opening in St. John's. Not to be disappointed...yet again. So glad the Sanoma Chicken Salad was still on the menu!!! My fav! Dale had a burger with onion rings and that didn't disappoint either! My only regret was not having room for dessert!

We went to Kelsey's on Kenmount Friday night. It wasn't busy...Our server seated us an noticed we were watching the hockey game and offered us better seating for viewing. We ordered wings and chicken parmesan. Both cooked to perfection. My boyfriend prides himself on his taste testing of wings and he hasn't stopped raving about these! The service was exceptional. Brandon, our server made sure we had everything we needed...Explained everything in detail. He has a very friendly disposition and a great conversationalist. We will definitely be back.

The food was great. I love the bacon and goat cheese sirloin. I have it everytime. The twisted bread was delicious too. Our server was fun and attentive. She did great.

Went there tonight with my family and were told they were and I quote "like were very backed up" as I looked around the place was at half capacity at best. I don't know what there problem was but this will be my last time through there doors and everyone I now will here about this.

Went to Kelseys for the first time and really enjoyed it. The food and service was awesome. The waitress was very awesome he has only work there for 3 months and he really is doing a awesome job!! Keep it up!! We will be returning!!

Went there with 9 friends I agree that was a large table, but we waited over 2.5 hours after we ordered our food before we received it. We were told that our food had to be made special because of the amount of people that ordered. 4 orders at the table was prepared wrong and when asked to be corrected 2 came back wrong again. Wasn't even busy this night. Been to 3 other restaurants in the city with as many people and received food in about 45 minutes. This place is super slow and gets orders wrong constantly.

Love the salt and vinegar fish!!! Great service and atmosphere!

Been here previously, had never had any issues. However this time when we were there, the server was rude and food was undercooked. When the issue was brought up the server said usually they can’t do anything about it and then the manager came over and said that she would take off the item that was undercooked, after reviewing the bill the item was actually not taken off, instead A 79 cent charge for ranch sauce was taken off. Very disappointed with the service.

Tried this place for the first time the other day for lunch. One server took care of 4 tables and he seemed like he had no idea how to serve and was awkward. We waited along time for drinks and food. The tacos were dry and flavorless. Not a good first impression.

The best place. Ashley our waitress was the absolut best!
