Review Smiling Fish Company - St. Catharines

Thank you Chris for the Amazing French onion soup. In my top 5....amazing halibut dish. Looking forward to coming back here.

My wife and I revisited The Smiling Fish Company this evening. Again we really enjoyed our meal. Sherry was our hostess and she is very friendly and makes a person really feel at home. The haddock and chips meal was excellent. The service was so fast. We really recommend this restaurant. Be sure to visit soon. We definitely plan to revisit soon.

This legendary community staple is one of the most stable, reliable and consistent eateries in Niagara. And it's closing in January if it isn't sold, for a now ridiculously low price. $50K. I am not the listing agent but someone needs to scoop up this gem and I'd forfeit my commission to help the deal. I'll work for seafood chowder.

This has been a staple restaurant in my family since I was a little girl. Sherry who serves us every time is like family to us. Great food and amazing service. Make sure to get there early it fills up fast

I had Combo of Salmon and Cod... was so fresh and crunchy. The portion size is also good. we got served by Sarah.. She’s just awesum....👍🏻

We love this place. Pickerel piccada is wonderful. Always big helpings and great staff. No complaints. But they COULD use a nice pepper vinegar... ;)

The seafood chowder had almost no seafood in it, no buns, wrong food brought out. I have eaten here many times and never had an issue but this time did me in .

The Cajun fish is unreal! Great coleslaw and fries and the place is family run. This sort is a gem.

Best fish and chips we have found anywhere from Niagara to Toronto! Been going here 10 years now?! We've tried a good portion of the menu too and it's always consistent here. Never disappointed. Our favourites are the seafood linguine, baked salmon and fries, calamari and battered haddock. The ladies that work in the front have been there so long they know everyone's name and your order! Now who doesn't like that! Too bad we don't live in St. Catharine's anymore. This place needs to be more appreciated because it's the only good fish and chip place around!

Best Fish and Chips in the Area.. My wife and enjoyed a cup of seafood chowder and shared a 2 piece halibut dinner with chips.<br/>It was fantastic. We had more than enough. Service was great as well. Go and try for yourself you won't be disappointed.<br/>Brian and Cathy

Not An Opinion. I'm planning a trip to St. Catharines next week, and checked Urban Spoon to find a spot for dinner. Excellent selection. The daily fresh fish menu is excellent. Pickerel, orange roughy, mahi mahi, red snapper... it's always something different if you want it. The Haddock and chips is an enormous plate and the fries are fresh cut as every chip should be. (There is no excuse for frozen fries people....) Excellent batter as well. Food is hot and fresh to order. Fresh desserts daily make an excellent end to an excellent meal.<br/><br/>Service is fast and extremely friendly. Though I am not a fan of the cream style coleslaw is was still very good. I think the only thing going against this wonderful little gem of a seafood restaurant is the size. You may have to wait for a table some days unless you order takeout. But size doesn't matter... right? It's all about how you use it. And they have just the right amount of table to make it comfortable without being crowded.<br/><br/>A fountain pop dispenser would also be a good idea. People like free refills and they cost pennies a glass. Canned pop is nice for takeout but creates a lot of waste.

I love it. Great workers as well as a great atmosphere. Went with my friend who's aunt is the owner and got free food. It was great! You will see me soon.
