Review George's Greek Village - St. Catharines

Great spot for food. Serivce was excellent. The drinks and food variety is large, giving you lots of options. There's a choice for indoor or closed outdoor sitting that views the canal. All the food tasted delicious. There's a lot of space in the restaurant so there's a nice bit of room between you and the tables beside you. I would definitely recommend this place if you haven't gone yet.

The food was pretty good and the service friendly. It would have been fun to see a ship pass by in the Canal just below, but timing didn't work out. Lunch specials are very reasonably priced, by the way. I had the half portion of the moussaka with Greek salad and my husband had the grilled vegetable wrap.

Great Greek food. A little different than other places. Chicken was good and similar to other places. Tzaziki had greens in it - maybe cucumber shavings- tasted good, but I prefer plain. Potatoes were not as lemony as regular Greek potatoes. Large Greek salad was very big vs other places. Prices were good vs similar restaurants. Service was good. They give you a garlic stick bread to start. Place is clean and Greek music playing over head. The have porch area where they have sliding doors to get outside atmosphere overseeing the canal. You can see the bridge over the canal. Lots of drink to choose from. I will definitely come back.

It was a great and comfortable place to eat lunch with my friend! The server was so kind that she let us know how to pronounce the name of menu as we got there for the first time and not familiar with Greek food. lol Foods were also awesome. I highly recommend this place as well. :)

Great location, friendly service and good food. Lamb kebob was delicious and juicy. Really good Saganaki. We were seated on the patio looking over the canal. Only critique I have is that side potatoes for lamb kebob dish very kinda old and not edible. Other than that everything was tasty. Food is reasonably priced. I recommend this place.

The food was delicious!!! The restaurant had lots of space & a very spacious parking lot. Servers were nice, although we did wait a while for our food, it was definitely worth it. It was nice to have some salad & bread to start off too! Delicious & authentic

I usually don’t take the time to make reviews because I like to give the benefit of the doubt, but if I could choose 0 stars I would. A couple days ago I ordered the 12$ meal which includes rice, salad, potatoes and chicken. But I asked nicely for just rice and potatoes along with the chicken instead. When I got my order, I said thanks and was about to go on my way, but the food in the bag felt light. Lighter than a usual 12$ food meal. I opened it and saw the least amount of rice, three small pieces of potato and a piece of grilled chicken. Usually when a customer is dissatisfied, the establishment should at least try to tend to the concern, but they refused to add any more rice, or any more potatoes. After a long day at work, getting something that will fill your stomach is how you conclude the day on a positive note. But they were looking at me as if I was crazy, for wanting a tad bit more. Terrible customer service. The picture says it all.

My Mom just sufferwd a mild hear attack Monday night. Wednesday when she was released, I told her I would take her out for a nice relaxing car ride and dinner somewhere so we googled greek restaurants . Georges Greek Vilage was right on top. As we pulled in the packed parking lot, delicious smell kept us there waiting 30 mins to get a table(good idea make arrangements). Well worth it! Then they asked if we would like patio seat. Absolutely. You faced the Welland Canal right under Gardner skyway. during the time we had the please of watching the bridge lift and let 2 large steel boards through, then down. scenery at night is just a beautiful with the water reflecting off of the light. For our meal, we shared a saganki, spanakopita, and shared a gyro dinner. amazing flavour and presentation, and great portion size. Waitresses we very punctual and pleasant. Definitely a hidden Gem. Can't wait to bring back a bigger crowd next!! Thank you George and your staff for making it an amazing night for both of us!

Love there food, my family and i have never been disappointed !!! Good food, good prices and there children menu is awesome too. Only bad thing i will say is the take out portion for the Moussaka is aweful. You get your choice of a half portion or a full portion. The only differance between the 2 is the size of your pinky figure and $6.00 or $8.00.

This was our first visit and the entire family left very full and very impressed. And with left-overs to boot! Our server was very hospitable and thorough explaining any questions we had about the dishes. The other staff buzzing around were quite friendly as well. Now here is where we get to the good part... the food! Other than Greek Salad, I have never had Greek food so I have nothing to compare this experience to... BUT... we found the food to be cooked perfect, full of flavour and presented quite nicely. Helpings were very large and not over-priced. Check out the Menu on their Website, I had the Mezedes which is basically a grill lovers meat fest and it was sooo delicious. Would like to come back in the summer when the locks are open. A great selection of food. First time there for a meal. Excellent food, with great wine. Wonderful friendly service and we will definitely go back again as there are numerous items on the menu that we want to try. Definite thumbs up. Beautiful setting and sitting on the patio enjoying the passing ships.

Beautiful place, good food, our server and the one at the table next to us were extra nice � and helpful... Will definetly go again. Only 2 regrets, lamb shanks weren't served today and i wished it was summer cuz the view is spectacular ���

Great service! Thank you Alise! Delicious food - lamb shank was amazing! Everything was amazing - salad, saganaki, feta fries, lemon roasted potatoes, baklava was heavenly, galektoboureko, too! And the wine!! Fantastic! Had patio seating on a beautiful night. Music was also wonderful.

George’s is one of our favourite places to eat. Problem is everything is so damn good it’s hard to choose. Last night we had the appetizer sampler, can’t remember what it’s called, but it is great. If you want a taste of heaven, try the Mousaka. Awesome. And I have leftovers for tonight. Grab a seat on the patio if you can get it. Nice breeze, overlooking the seaway. Staff is great, food is great. What more can you ask for?

We have been a few times and have had great experiences each time! Service and food quality have always been fantastic. The weekend special is always a great choice! Great patio to sip wine and watch the boats go by on the canal. Spring for the homemade baklava sundae, it's honestly incredible!! Keep up the great work, we'll certainly be back!!

Atmosphere was great and our server had some great suggestions.. we sat outside by the canal it was really nice evening. Food was good we had the lamb dinner.. it was a lot of food.. lamb was under spiced for my taste but would definitely go back..

Visiting my sister we went for dinner and the food was amazing!!! I highly recommend the Lamb burger, it was medium and done to perfection wish I could give 10 stars. The service was excellent, very pleasant staff.

Went here with my husband and another couple..our food was excellent and there was so much of it I couldn't eat it all..our server was very honest with us on food that we may not want to order and because of that I had an amazing calamari dinner..and they have a black craft beer that is amazing if u like stronger beers..we all enjoyed our dinners and I can't wait to go back..

Great windows. The special was salmon. It was so raw neither of us could eat it.....and no comp was offered. Salad is nothing, rice and potato edible. Very loud as there are no buffers (at least in the back room) to off set the echos.

Amazing authentic Greek food! Warm and great staffing. I have wanted to go for months and finally went today with my family after seeing the community work George does and inclusion of autism awareness on instagram, which is close to heart for me! Highly recommend...

Had a wonderful experience in their banquet room celebrating our Aunts 90th Birthday. The room held 4 generations of her immediate family Staff were outstanding. Respectful towards our needs always smiling and attentive towards all our different needs Food was wonderful It was a long drive for us to join in on this celebration but worth every moment And when they say fully accessible, it was one of the easiest places for our powered wheelchair Thank you to all !

I love Greek food. I was blessed to be there on July 18th with my nieces. It was great.. in fact, beyond great. Generous portions, great service, great music softly playing. Can't wait to go back. Thanks George's restaurant for a great place to eat. Keep up the great job! Blessings
